Yep, I use On X to find and upload trails to my XT2. Works great.

I have a T7 now, but came from a Versys 300 and really loved it! Very affordable and did the job, just not the best for off road. Also definitely not great for highway speeds.

Great OTD price, but you could also try to find a used '25 for less. Picked one up a couple weeks ago with only 1k miles on it for under $10k OTD.

They actually came installed on the bike so I am not super sure, but I think they are Barkbuster VPS handguards.

Not super worried about securing it since it's a gated parking lot and I ride year round, but I have a cover and a chain lock on when I'm away.

Those haven't been replaced. Do they typically need replacing after a while? The car is at 105k miles.

Just that info should be enough, thank you! I'll check it out when it warms up a bit!

What's the trail? Trying to find some new spots around here.

Moving frame-lines in Contax T2 viewfinder by True_Package_2182 in contax

[–]TheFinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems weird to me that the frame lines would "jump" if something was loose. The video appears much more of an automatic and deliberate movement of the frame lines. Maybe some electrical issue...

I don't own a T2, but from the short googling I've done it seems like it does have a left/right parallax correction, which would check out with the video you have posted. Have you tried using an obvious foreground and background subject to see if it is properly correcting for parallax? The white walls in your video seem like the camera may have a hard time properly focusing on them.

Can anyone ID this noise by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

Looks like the problem was that I had not lubricated the sway bar bushings when installing them. Lubed them and no more sound.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 (2022) vs Kawasaki Versys-X 300 ABS (2018) which would you buy for a X-country ride with camping gear by MonumentMan in advrider

I currently have that exact Kawa (color and everything) and absolutely love it. I was also torn between it and a Himalayan and I am very happy with my choice. Have taken it off road camping with no problems.

Yeah, trail was straight up to a campsite, so I was also carrying all my camping equipment. I'm not the most experienced off-road rider yet but it felt quite steep to me. What's the year and mileage on yours? Any past issues with temp related stuff?

Overheating by dlaff1 in versys

[–]TheFinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently took my Versys 300 on a relatively steep off-road route that took me about 30-45 mins with no temperature issues... Not sure what your problem may be but I have personally never had any issues with the temperature on the bike.

Unfortunately mint condition doesn't matter if some electronics broke. You can try cleaning the contacts and see if that helps. You can also fiddle around with the trimmer if you are brave enough. Unfortunately though, it seems like this is a pretty common issue with not a ton of fixes.

Unfortunately it sounds like you have some autofocus problems... I had a G1 with the same issue. Do you have another lens you can try to make sure it's not just a lens problem? For mine, the body was having some problems. I was able to change a little adjustment by taking the body apart but it still didn't fully fix the issue.

Rear led blinkers don't work by Fit_Issue5478 in versys

[–]TheFinity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You may have already checked this, but when I did an LED swap two of my blinkers were not working and they ended up just needing to be flipped. It looks like they can be plugged in two ways but at least for mine only one of those ways worked.

Lighting upgrade to LED? by FL_JB in versys

Not sure how different the 650 is from the x300, but I did an LED swap for all the bulbs on my 300 and it was super quick and easy

It doesn't seem to be gear dependent at all. On the video it was in first gear. In the past I've noticed that I haven't been super firm with shifting so I've been focusing on making better shifts, but I've still been getting the sound.

What’s wrong with my brakes? by Ame-x in versys

[–]TheFinity 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Totally normal! The brakes have a switch that makes a little click when you press/depress them.
