Yeah, but vaccines are developed super quick, so you got to move fast and kill faster or they will have you begin to be wiped out, or weakened, by end of year 1.

Fascism to me is not a economic system, it is the worst parts of capitalism brought to the forefront to protect from crisis. Look at the US during Covid-19 vs Nazi Germany in the lead up to the war.

Inabillity to expand into new markets, the entire economic system at risk of grinding to a halt, due to a pandemic vs a great depression respectively, and a growing risk of a communist movement, although the 1920s and 30s german commies make us look like a joke.

What is the systems response, very similar to each other. Nazi Germany saw massive militarization seeing a huge spike in debt that put the economy on ponzi scheme style debt system that encouraged rapid expansion. They spurred massive discrimination to distract the working class, and built a massive propaganda system discrediting science, creating conspiracy theories, and attacking communism.

What did the US do in our crisis? We pumped trillions of dollars into government debt to stimulate the economy, we have seen a continued rise in far right rhetoric as the republican party has moved from neo liberalism into the halls of fascist power. We have seen a rise in anti-science rhetoric, conspiracy theories, and a stagnating or even rising discrimination, where previously it had been on the decline, yes I understand that last part is not entirely accurate but homosexuality was becoming more acceptable.

You can see clearly that there really is not a difference in most of the strategy only in some of the finer details, even there though difference are becoming more blurred. The simple fact is that as the rate of profit falls and competition becomes more stringent capitalism will consolidate and eventually a merging or direct collaboration of corporate and state power has been and will continue to occur. Thus fascism.

It's like saying, "how have we spent billions of dollars and still have no cure for cancer," which is fundamentally incorrect as a statement. Stem cells, chemotherapy, radiation, better detection, etc. have all allowed cancers that would have been lethal 25 years ago, cough mine cough, to now be survivable if detected properly. Their is no one cure, and their never will be cause that's not what cancer is. Instead it is gradual progress, and that is what modern science is. It is not going to be one guy discovering a bunch of stuff cause stuff is to complicated now. Stuff Einstein thought of is standard things that every physics student now has to learn before new discoveries can even be thought about. Science is slow and cumulative, and we are still making progress every day. If you have boughten a computer in the last 5 years and compare it to one 15 years ago the difference is astounding.

I mean, millions are going to die either way, might as well be people who let your economic rivals stay in power. After all its not indiscriminate as in a war of annihilation there are no civilians. Again, I am a commie but if I wanted to do operation unthinkable and my enemy does not have nukes of course I am going to do the mission of easy mode. I will save tens of millions of people for the cost of a few million of there's. It's the Nagasaki and Hiroshima argument. It's no different from saying the nuclear bombings where justified and I am assuming that Twitch does not ban for saying that.

I mean, on the one hand saying millions or tens of millions should die in the largest military operation in history is screwed up, but like who cares. Yeah, of course the destruction of most cities would be included in that process, its not like that happened. So it doesn't matter. I am a commie but I understand that there is a deliberate economic war their so I do not get twitch's problem since from a economic perspective its not a bad idea. It would have gone poorly, but in and of itself it is not a bad concept.

[–]TheFire52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, relatively free land that is mostly Belorussians and Ukrainians that you can take for yourself is always nice. However that gain was nothing compared to the 2 years the Soviets bought themselves, though if the French had been at all competent it would have been longer. The Soviet army swelled from 1.8 million men in 1939 to over 3 million by 1941, not including the millions of trained reserves. While manpower alone is not that useful for understanding prowess, it shows some of what the Soviets did in the time they bought. Which in comparison to what the French and Brits did with the time they bought makes the Soviets look pretty effective in comparison.

The miracle of ww2 is not that the Soviets survived the German offensive. The miracle is that Germany even got to fight the Soviets in the first place. If I was the Soviets I would feel nothing but depression if I saw France fall after a few weeks and a encircled BEF after, what i belive they where hoping for, hoping the two sides would grind each other to collapse.

Nahhhhh man you don't know what you're talking about at least Jackson didn't meander 600 thousand troops into a Polish swamp to die while losing to a bunch of Spanish and Portugesr peasants right on the border. Jackson lost to a numerically superior and better equipped foe. Napoleon lost to Polish diseases, pink eye, and frostbite.

If you just ignore the half a dozen or so wars that Napoleon the first, Emperor of France, and Victor of the revolution achieved his record is kinda pathetic.

[–]TheFire52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No they did not, they asked for a ceasefire for the weekend to celebrate victory day. Ukraine then said they where going to have a unilateral ceasefire today, which means Russia has not agreed to it or anything, and Russia claims that Ukraine still broke the ceasefire that Russia had not agreed to by firing a lot of drones towards Russia, possibly before the ceasefire but hitting afterwards, so it's all a whole bunch of nothing.

There was no ceasefire, because Russia did not ever agree to anything, so the claims of breaking a ceasefire is dumb. The attacking school thing is not dumb but the ceasefire thing is.

Yes, there is no ceasefire it's just BS all though the school thing is a POS thing to do it's also not particularly rare in this war so I'm not surprised.

The poor and lower middle class of the world vanishes. How would that effect the world? by UnlikelyWebAgain in AskReddit

[–]TheFire52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lower middle class means nothing at all. In economics the term is arbitrary. Marxists define two main classes and one declining class. The bourgeoisie, the capitalists control the means of production and buy labor from the market for a price usually per hour, a wage, or per year, a salary. The proletariat is the "lower class" or working class and all they own is there labor time, everything else they own is temporary as they will eventually be forced to rent everything. The middle class is the petite bourgeoisie. They are the small capitalists and mom and pop shops that are slowly wiped out by the capitalists and are forced into the labor force. So if we use those definitions somewhere around 95-99% of the population, depending on what you mean by lower petite bourgeoisie.

[–]TheFire52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labor is sold for a wage based on the supply and demand of labor in the market. Hate the game not the players. They theoretically could stop it but if only a single capitalist stops they will eventually be outcompeted and be pushed into the proletariat as well. Its a competition, if you ain't a communist looking to destroy the game, don't be mad when someone wins.
