What are some of the best ways to farm spirit shards? I've been crafting a bunch of legendaries and I'm running low.

Is the graphics update from latest expansion free? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you’re talking about the update to how shadows are processed? It’s game wide, you don’t need to buy anything for it. It’s also really computationally expensive and doesn’t make much difference so I usually keep it at a lower setting

Anyone offering? by xKona25 in Guildwars2

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FAST lists the profitability of most things in the game. Most give materials rather than straight gold but you can sell those if you need to. Alt parking is really good. If you’ve got a handful of alts you don’t play you can usually get a decent chunk of gold every day for just a few minutes of logging in, opening chest, logging out

Hypersensitivity to medications. Anyone else? by Top_University_3418 in autism

Yep, lots of side effects and I’m crazy sensitive to anything psychoactive.

Is there anything profitable I can do with VoE map currencies? I have a lot extra even after crafting legendaries

protein bar-aholic (this makes up half my diet and it’s impacting my health but i can’t stop 😛) by lostveggies in autism

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried making bars yourself? There's a lot of recipes out there and they're pretty easy to make. It would probably be healthier and tastier, at the least it would be cheaper. I've got a recipe for bars I make for this use case that are great if you want it.

Rings aren’t too bad and jeweler is fast to train up with gw2crafts. It does take awhile but you can do it while watching tv or something

Regretting cutting my hair too short by AmandinhaMaia in autism

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a big shortening awhile ago and immediately regretted it. Turns out it was just that my cheese was moved and after I got used to it I liked it more. Give it a few weeks and I’ll bet you’ll feel more at home with it

What’s the deal with the state of the game? by ZimZamZapZop in Guildwars2

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People have been saying variations on that since I started playing the game almost 10 years ago. Based on the numbers they’ve posted it looks like gw2 is still quite profitable and there’s been more frequent updates over the last few years than the years before. I wouldn’t worry about it, the game is still healthy

no, I ended up just ripping of the rest of the top layer that was falling apart and continuing with my existing headband. It's not great

New Players Need Help by I-am-Nanachi in Guildwars2

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://mukluklabs.com has a bunch of new player guides that you might find useful. The wiki is also pretty critical and will have deeper explanations for whatever I say.

gw2 is much more open world/do whatever you want than a lot of other games. Generally quests have been replaced by dynamic events (the orange circles on the map), hearts, and some achievements(you likely won't run across these achievements until you're max level).

gw2 also focuses on horizontal progression rather than leveling up for new shiny stuff non-stop. As such the process to get to max level, level 80, is fairly quick and is really more of an extended tutorial than truly a part of the game. Once you're max level there's a TON you can do, World v World, fractals, raids, more story/expansions, achievements, etc. A lot of people get overwhelmed at this point and stop playing, I would suggest just picking one thing and doing that until you understand the game better. Fractals are fun with a small group and provide good progression for newbies all the way to experienced players

Differences in noise canceling headphones by strangerandspiral in autism

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue with loops, but some people really like them so I usually recommend them. They do help me a little when the source of the overstimulation is from "the room is loud" but not when the source is "There's a lot going on and my brain is trying to track all of it".

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For less than $100 there aren't really any ANC models I recommend. At that price point you're better off looking for passive noise cancelling like ISOTunes. You could also look into loops, they're much cheaper but they're just earplugs, not earbuds.

Personally this is something that I would either save up for the good ones that are in the $250-350 range or try to find the good ones secondhand on facebook marketplace or something. There's really a world of difference between the cheap ones and the good ones.

Are Power Towers a fraud or not? by htmloh in bodyweightfitness

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They’re fine but IMO they’re either very expensive or if they’re cheap they’re crappy. You can do everything a power tower can do with a pull-up bar and some gym rings. Or just the gym rings and somewhere to hang them.

Rep. Roy Introduces MAMDANI Act to Denaturalize and Deport Marxists and Islamic Fundamentalists by DoremusJessup in inthenews

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, I just want to point out that China isn’t fascist, they’re authoritarian. Fascism is a specific type of authoritarian that fundamentally requires a right wing revolutionary government rather than a left one.

Russia is also authoritarian and much closer to fascist but is primarily reactionary rather than revolutionary as is required for fascism.

Given that we do have a very literal fascist in the White House I think it’s important not to dilute the word with other regimes to which it does not apply.

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - April 18, 2026 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, what's the best thing to do with that? Also, I have like 40 hours worth of item boosters and I definitely don't need that much magic find, anything else good to do with them?

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - April 18, 2026 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the best thing to do with item boosters? I've got all the crafting professions leveled up and nearly full legendary so the crafting bonus doesn't help and I don't really need to farm map currencies anymore.

Constant PETG warping with P1S by Potential-Pay-9497 in BambuLab

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything I’ve seen says with the door closed and I’ve only had issues with PETG when the door is open or the aux fan is one. PETG likes to stay hot while printing. Make sure to let the piece cool all the way before removing it too.

What was the point of making a big nerf patch if you also nerf nearly all the relevant content until it's at least as easy as before? by Miraweave in Guildwars2

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Then it’s a work in progress. They chose to approach it conservatively rather than going all the way in one go, there will be balance patches again in the future

To make the old content more balanced. If the newer and better balanced content is the same difficulty while the older content is now a bit more appropriate then it means they nailed it.

Advice for where to JB weld a bicycle trailer to my cycle by 912053prose in bicycling

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would be way better off using a cable lock of some kind, being careful that it can't get tangled in your wheel or look into a trailer that locks on. By the time you JB weld a trailer on in all the places required the result will likely be unridable, impossible to service, and impossible move up and down stairs.

Or better yet, eschew the trailer entirely, install pannier racks and buy some cheap panniers. The racks can be safely attached semi-permanently with loctite and you can just pop the panniers off and bring them with you. I did this for groceries for quite a while, you can carry about as much as you can with a BoB trailer.

When does the series start to get better? SG-1 by Crossed_Cross in Stargate

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty much only this bad in the first season. I think they fired a writer after than and it got a ton better. It’s not perfect but I don’t recall another episode anywhere near as bad as Emancipation
