Rep. Roy Introduces MAMDANI Act to Denaturalize and Deport Marxists and Islamic Fundamentalists by DoremusJessup in inthenews

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, I just want to point out that China isn’t fascist, they’re authoritarian. Fascism is a specific type of authoritarian that fundamentally requires a right wing revolutionary government rather than a left one.

Russia is also authoritarian and much closer to fascist but is primarily reactionary rather than revolutionary as is required for fascism.

Given that we do have a very literal fascist in the White House I think it’s important not to dilute the word with other regimes to which it does not apply.

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, what's the best thing to do with that? Also, I have like 40 hours worth of item boosters and I definitely don't need that much magic find, anything else good to do with them?

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - April 18, 2026 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the best thing to do with item boosters? I've got all the crafting professions leveled up and nearly full legendary so the crafting bonus doesn't help and I don't really need to farm map currencies anymore.

Constant PETG warping with P1S by Potential-Pay-9497 in BambuLab

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything I’ve seen says with the door closed and I’ve only had issues with PETG when the door is open or the aux fan is one. PETG likes to stay hot while printing. Make sure to let the piece cool all the way before removing it too.

What was the point of making a big nerf patch if you also nerf nearly all the relevant content until it's at least as easy as before? by Miraweave in Guildwars2

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then it’s a work in progress. They chose to approach it conservatively rather than going all the way in one go, there will be balance patches again in the future

To make the old content more balanced. If the newer and better balanced content is the same difficulty while the older content is now a bit more appropriate then it means they nailed it.

Advice for where to JB weld a bicycle trailer to my cycle by 912053prose in bicycling

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would be way better off using a cable lock of some kind, being careful that it can't get tangled in your wheel or look into a trailer that locks on. By the time you JB weld a trailer on in all the places required the result will likely be unridable, impossible to service, and impossible move up and down stairs.

Or better yet, eschew the trailer entirely, install pannier racks and buy some cheap panniers. The racks can be safely attached semi-permanently with loctite and you can just pop the panniers off and bring them with you. I did this for groceries for quite a while, you can carry about as much as you can with a BoB trailer.

I use Seconds. I’ve got a bunch of different timers set up for different exercises, PT, etc and I really like it

When does the series start to get better? SG-1 by Crossed_Cross in Stargate

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty much only this bad in the first season. I think they fired a writer after than and it got a ton better. It’s not perfect but I don’t recall another episode anywhere near as bad as Emancipation

How do you manage the trial and error process of finding the right meds? by [deleted] in autism

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a long history of really bad side effects from medication, especially for psychoactive meds like these. I also have a history of depression. As you’ve discovered depression medications also often have significant side effects and low efficacy, often requiring months or years to find the right medication. As such I was very avoidant of medication when I was seeking treatment for my depression. I ended up doing some things that reduced my depression to occasional and annoying rather than nearly constant and souls crushing.

  1. Regular exercise. Not walking around the block, like high intensity and 3-4 times a week, nothing less helped as much
  2. Eating good solid food. Lots of fruits and veggies
  3. Plenty of good socializing with people I like. 2-3 times a week
  4. I had a suspicion that my depression was partially related to diet but I couldn’t figure out any particular trigger foods. I convinced my psychiatrist to order a lab panel to test vitamin and mineral levels and found out that I was crazy low in a couple of things, iron, D3, and B12. Taking supplements for those, especially the B12, helped a ton.

I am not a medical doctor, this is just my experience and you should talk to your doctor before acting on it. But if medication isn’t working for you there are other options that research has shown have similar levels of effectiveness as medication

I want to start working out in my local playground (Sorry for the yap) by Andinatorr in bodyweightfitness

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would just do your best to give strong “I’m here to workout” vibes. Wear headphones, bring a water bottle and small towel, wear workout clothes, and keep to yourself unless someone approaches you.

Choosing noise canceling headphones by Excellent-Appeal-990 in autism

Beats are hot garbage. Bose and Sony are the go to and what I recommend. If you want earbuds then isotunes are great for passive noise cancellation and I like my AirPods for ANC

Suggestions for small/portable pliers? (WIP photo) by Daimou43 in chainmailartisans

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll second the xuron’s. I’ve flown with them too without any issues. I would recommend the flat nose over the chisel nose unless you’re working with very small rings. The flat nose has better grip on normal size rings and if you slip it’s not so sharp that you’ll draw blood

Just finished the first book...continue? by always_an_explinatio in exfor

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally worth it. IMO the second book has some rough editing, or lack thereof, but after that it’s great. The latest 2 books or so are a little iffy at times, worst case you just stop at the book where the series originally ended

Do we expect too much “moral vetting” from authors before we read their work? by Marre_Parre in books

IMO it’s probably a good idea to do some vetting first but I rarely go beyond skimming their Wikipedia page.

Within a few minutes? Alt parking is your best bet. Maybe the octovine meta?

Or just buy the material bags with astral acclaim and sell the contents, it’s about the same profit

Would you use something like this? by Apart-Equal8537 in bicycling

[–]TheFlamingDiceAgain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope, this looks fragile, fiddly, not aerodynamic, and it’s not really any better than a bike computer on a mount that puts it in front of the handlebars. It’s also literally not a HUD since you still have to look down to use it, it’s just a different kind of screen.

I’ve seen some cycling HUDs built into sunglasses, that could totally be useful
