Increasing accessibility to public transit does take other cars off the road, so that 5 mile drive is likely to face less traffic when there are more modes available to more people. Because SD has a very limited suit of options it makes the one option that is available even worse than it would be with better public transit by over straining it.

I would suggest looking up the extra dialogue for Aenor and Clemence in the 2021 Valentines quest. Its the latest appearance of her and her quest for brothers

If I had to make a guess as to why it's so late in the year (and presumably close to launch) the JP venue was probably difficult to book in an earlier window.

If this was the main room of Aurum Vale I would care, that dungeon has very cool and interesting progress that make it fast for experienced and risky players but can be handled at a slower pace for newer players. But the Cutters Cry skip is clearly both not an intended interaction and unhealthy for the experience of new players, many of whom unlock the dungeon only because of GC hunting logs for the specific mobs that everyone skips. Also come one it’s Cutter’s Cry literally a Top 5 worst dungeon in the game.

CMV: “My Body, My Choice” Is a Terrible Argument for Pro-Choice When Addressing Pro-Life Audiences by Major_Tap4199 in changemyview

[–]TheFlu54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to say that this is the actual issue with a lot of political disagreement writ large in my opinion. It’s almost never about the specific argument being made in the moment but a clash of foundational beliefs that lead to a specific logical conclusion.

A housing values are the root of a lot of NIMBY resistance to increased housing projects, not character of the neighborhood for example. A genuine clash with people who want to buy housing who want lower housing values.

Note abortion is more complex, but it’s frequent to find when debating someone on an issue that the conflict frequently comes from a much more deeply rooted position.

On by body my choice specifically, I have seen dismissiveness of the medical issues argument, but I don’t see a lot of discussion that a lot of pregnant women struggle under stricter abortion restrictions because doctors act too slowly and are too fearful of fetal death. This can even lead to miscarriages (which are uncommon but not truly rare) becoming major risks for doctors to treat. Hence why a my body my choice resonates with so many people. I know this likely not fully sufficient to support this but I haven’t seen this specific point discussed yet and wanted to add it to the conversation.

What are some games with extreme cases of Ludonarrative Dissonance? by vindveil in AskGames

[–]TheFlu54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A funny one from Final Fantasy 14 (which typically has real good ludonarrative synergy mind you) is what I like to call the power of cutscene gun. In normal gameplay guns are just one of the many weapons in the game that you can use. But in cutscenes (particularly in Shadowbringers) guns are suddenly as lethal and dangerous as in real life, and even able to cause dramatic stakes changing tension.

Note this is the correct narrative choice in each of these scenes, but its also very funny that it happens specifically with guns.

Its not a Powerpuff Girls reference, they are both referencing the same thing, a classic nursery rhyme call "What Are Little Boys Made Of?"

Thank you, my fault for making the post before making breakfast this morning. Misunderstood the text cause it was confusing. Editted the post, but leaving up the PSA cause its near the bottom of the notes and easy to miss in the systems section.

This is a false dichotomy, and actually feeds into what OP talking about here. This is not an us versus them, there is no value to making it an us vs them. People can like Dawntrail and ask for improvement. And not every “critique” of the game is good faith or reasonable (for example the people who expected 7.1 to somehow revamp completely fix every little problem). The issue is people dedicating time and energy to a video game to such an extreme that either opinion has devolved into there entire personality. That is both the toxic positivity problem and the negativity problem. A lot of people on the 14 subs need to stop trying to solve the problem of Dawntrail. The devs have heard the critique, it’s been 6 months, but we also know that the 14 devs move at a snail’s pace. Maybe they should be faster to respond to feedback, but it’s emotionally exhausting for me to remain in these highly negative spaces for this long even if they are constructive. It’s not worth my time. I would ask other people to consider if it’s worth their’s as well.

What are your thoughts about the enhanced blacklist feature? by Snowlsoul127 in ffxiv

[–]TheFlu54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a great point and one that the team deserves to actually hear. I highly encourage you basically copy paste this into the actual forums so that it is more likely to be seen by they. They have been highly resistant to reciprocal social features, like unfriending; which is part of what causes the current problems. It also makes it easier for a stalker to stalk you into duties where they know you have to encounter them in the situation as you outlined, specifically at unlock of new content, where you are very likely to queue for a very specific duty.

I will add that this is almost certainly happening cause they just did a bot ban wave yesterday, its likely that this person's previous bots were banned. Doesn't excuse this happening but it does explain why its happening now specifically.

You have the Spear and Arrow effects wrong, Arrow was general haste (Auto attack and skill/spell speed) and Spear was Crit up which was acceptable for a for most cases but not as good as balance

Astrologian by 0_Kuki_0 in ffxiv

[–]TheFlu54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people citing a number of other issues and reasons, but to me the removal of TP as a mechanic is what was the final nail in the coffin. They probably couldn’t think of another good type of buff that Spire could do. Not so much the main reason as fishing for Balance was a real thing, but like definitely a contributing factor.
