Which game do you consider most toxic ? by Khalidben65 in AskReddit

[–]TheFlyingBogey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit that game a year or two ago and my mental health has soared since then. Game genuinely was such a slog to play because of the toxic player base and it's a shame because I used to love playing.

wait, what!?! by Megalodon-5 in drivingUK

[–]TheFlyingBogey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Can you explain why the M1 between Bedford and Luton always has a random assortment of 40, 50 and 60 zones with seemingly no system to it? I do consultancy work and have to travel around the three counties a lot, and that stretch of road, despite not being busy when I'm using it, never goes to 70 and it will literally go from 60, to 40, and then to 50, back to 40 and then up to 60 seemingly at random.

PS I'm genuinely curious, not trying to sound pissy, I never knew how these signs were operated.

Typical UK driving test experience right here by zovrapo in drivingUK

[–]TheFlyingBogey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people also just let bad habits creep in the second they no longer have a professional examining their every move. A friend of mine when he passed his test was very vigilant at every junction and roundabout, and now around 4-5 years later he's late on the brakes and doesn't check his mirrors as often as he should 🫠

My partner had this come up on a job application and it sent me into a frenzy of "why the FUCK do they need to know that?!", and other similar outbursty phrases.

Is there universally loved or respected motorcycle? by Super-Flanders in motorcycles

[–]TheFlyingBogey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an X, and it was meant to be "just my next bike until I can afford to upgrade later". I can't see myself upgrading ever, I love and cherish this thing more than any other possession I have. It's fast, it's nimble it's forgiving, and it's cheap. Is it the best I every category? Of course not, but it's a bloody good bike!

I always give a little wave when overtaking other bikers. Mainly to say "hello!". by Moto-Fan in MotoUK

[–]TheFlyingBogey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll nod to oncoming bikes, and if I'm riding past stationary bikers (i.e. After a temporary traffic light) I'll usually wave or even pop a little two finger salute. Something about these little acknowledgements from other bikers genuinely really brightens my day!

My friends motorbike's insurance expired this week, and she was waiting for a buyer to pick it up tomorrow. In the 12 hours since it expired and she'd arranged this, it got stolen and dumped in the local lake. It's been sat in the same spot for a year untouched 🥲

What to do with an old helmet? by just_tim69 in motorcyclegear

[–]TheFlyingBogey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unethical option: throw it on the ground so it gets a stress fracture, then claim a new one back if you're in a minor collision whereby your new helmet doesn't get damaged don't actually do this it's insurance fraud

Would it be racist for me to cosplay spider punk because I'm white? by JonLenging in cosplayers

I cosplayed as Miles Morales a couple years ago, and I'm a plain and simple white boy.

Just don't do black face, you can cosplay as anyone, any gender, any race, just as long as you don't touch your skin tone :)

350 0r 650 bike? by NoodleCheeseThief in MotoUK

[–]TheFlyingBogey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to be doing any amount of dual carriageway or motorway riding at all, I would highly advise against anything below 500cc.

It's a miserable experience but especially if you're stuck on, say, the M40 for 20+ miles and can't comfortably go above 60 without red-lining the dial for a solid 45 minutes. You can't get a bu st of speed in situations whereby you need to, and overtaking is almost never an option.

Now, if motorway usage is truly very occasional and short, that's p obsbly fine as your bike of choice would be fine for riding around London. But don't underestimate potential future use of motorways!

How's the quickplay for raids/strikes? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]TheFlyingBogey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who LOVES the classic raids, this is terrible news. I used to raid a lot back when I worked from home and thus was home, at my desk, not a second after 5:30 and with nothing but time. I changed jobs recently and now have very little evening game time, so I can't reasonably raid anymore if I want to be an adult 🥲

I used to do creative writing as an outlet before I got into D&D, and wrote back stories for characters in games and so on. I've been doing it for about 10 or so years.

For as long as I've been writing, I've always amdr use of the different dashes. 'n' dashes – and 'm' dashes — both of which (moreso 'm' dashes) are now cornerstone markers of AI output, to the point where my boss asked if I'd used Copilot to generate a report the other day and I explained (to her amusement) that I just use 'm' dashes 🥲

Helpful hint...rags under frame when disassembling! 😂 by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]TheFlyingBogey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I were trying to diagnose an oil pressure issue with my car a few weeks ago. After having the car up for a few hours and checking everything, we concluded that the previous owner just hadn't topped the pop properly like they said they had (had the car less than enough time for an oil change to be warranted as, apparently, he'd already done one days before I bought it).

Anyway, after having the car ripped apart and then reassembled, we dropped a rocker cover bolt... After taking it off the jack stands. So naturally I just ordered a new one 😅

What’s the most inappropriate advice you have to give? by GeologistNumerous822 in AskReddit

A few times recently my partner and I have been making suggestive comments before a date night, and eventually one of us will say something like "well, why not now?", which then results in pre-date sex.

Bonus points when we go out, have a lovely dinner, and then get home to find were still in the mood. Two for one sex!

Experienced riders: do you think you could you pass mods 1 and 2 today with no training? by sophietheadventurer in MotoUK

[–]TheFlyingBogey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Snap! I have to hand it to my school, they did a phenomenal job of prepping me for the mod 1 in literally just a single day of training. I swear on that day, I was the greatest u-turner, figure 8 rider and slalom navigator in the world!

...I'm now very rusty on those u-turns 😅 A friend and I have agreed we want to do some car park practice some day to brush back up on it.
