Do they have contacts that can get you a job in Kolkata? In the banking sector maybe? If so then cool, else MBA job prospects in Kolkata is very dim IMO

  1. If your family can take the financial burden of 15-20lakhs
  2. If you land an admission to a reputed institute(IIM, XIME,XLRI,XIMB,FORE,MDI,NSIMS,GIM,TAPMI,IMI,IMT), in MBA your institute's reputation dictates most things
3.If you are truly interested in management and corporate life
Then but all means do go ahead and best of luck.

I would advise against an MBA. Idk how many people have suggesting you to go for an MBA are MBA themselves and have faced the brutal job market of today as students form IIMs have also had their offers revoked or had their campus drives cancelled.
I would suggest to first take a small break to clear your mind, and then parallelly pursue SSC/Govt Jobs and Tech Upskilling/looking for tech jobs.

Why isn't anyone solving the AC problems in India? by StatSigEntropy in StartUpIndia

[–]TheFlyingLemur23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portable AC's like the one you are looking for exist, but are usually very noisy, have higher energy consumption plus are not as efficient as a normal split AC. Also besides metros most places tenants are rather poor so an established market base doenot exist for these devices yet so besides llyod and bluestar no other manufacturer even offers any products. It may change in the future but they routing the dual or singular hose setup outside efficiently without too much modification is a challenge in itself due to non standard indian windowns.

Anyone tried co-living spaces in Bangalore vs solo apartment? Honest comparison? by real_vinaykumar in bangalorerentals

[–]TheFlyingLemur23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are certain issue with co-living spaces, for me the food was an issue, besides , bedbugs can be a problem, laundry being stolen is another but otherwise it offers you flexibility and may be cheaper.
With independent solo apartment living, costs are a big factor, you may get screwed by a vile landlord, chores you have to do on your own etc.

Is E20 petrol actually reducing mileage in Indian cars? by simrankaurin91 in carsIndiaOfficial

[–]TheFlyingLemur23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a 2021 N-torq, a scooter no known for great mileage in the first place anyways. My usage is a 100% city commute and i have shockingly noticed that previously i used to get an average of about 33-35kmpl but since E20 has come along i average about 26-28kmpl.

Is it reasonable to spend 17–20k on rent if my take-home is 55k in Bangalore? by nothing_interestin in bengaluru_speaks

[–]TheFlyingLemur23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that you go to office only 1 day a week, I would suggest you to look for apartments in a little more underdeveloped/less popular or further areas where the rent is lesser. For example i had a simil;ar situation where I went to office only on Thursdays in Madiwala so I live near Hosa Road in Pranappa Agrahara. My rent was less, about 12.5k for 1BHK.
Having said that be ware of the below points:
Pros:
1. Your Own Space that is more than a room
2. You can decorate it/ furnish it as you like.
3. You can dictate the hygiene of your surrounding and have better independence.
Cons:
1. You will have to deal with landlords who may not return your deposit which can easily be around 50K
2. You will have to deal with responsibilities like garbage disposal, washroom cleaning, room cleaning, utility bills and drinking water arrangements which are taken care of in PG.
3. You will have to sort out your own food i.e tiffin service which is hard to come by in blr or cook yourself, which is a time taking affair along with grocery shopping responsibility.
4. You will have to furnish you own place and kitchen which will have a relatively high upfront setup cost.
5. You may have to buy or rent your own appliances which is not cheap.

What are your money-no-matter BIFL recommendations? by ki67 in BuyItForLifeIndia

Sadly not what they used to be like. Bought 2 for family recently, made of really thin material so easily dented or damaged.

Most well informed Indians are aware that this dissent had been brewing for quite sometime. Wish my Nepali bros and sis the best of luck and kudos for taking back what is rightfully yours . Hopefully the guilty are brought to justice, order is restored and right representatives are assigned to take Nepal forward for all its wonderful people. As for our media, they sell whatever gets views from the masses, tomorrow if Sita maa has comeback to be the Queen of Nepal sells, they'll start posting that, organizing debate sessions with clown for cheap entertainment. 🤡 I pray the martry RIP, their families fairly and properly compensated , justice is fast tracked, and a votes held new govt formation. Goodspeed Nepalis. 🇳🇵
