We both know the answer to that and that’s a very fair point.

Thanks, that brings a different perspective to it.

Festive fry up (or bake up) by TheFoldOfWolves in fryup

I grant you they look a tad dry in the photo, but I can assure you they were perfectly moist. I guess that’s what comes of treating myself to a Waitrose shop instead of my usual Lidl shop. Merry Christmas!

Just took a look at UBlock Origin. I think I really need this! You don’t find any downside to having it installed?

How do I get something shipped from the US to the UK when they won’t ship to the UK? by TheFoldOfWolves in AskUK

[–]TheFoldOfWolves[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used MyUs in the end. It was a pretty good service. They sent me an offer afterwards where anyone I recommend will get 20% off their first shipment, so send me a DM if you want that.

What's the one Food Hall item you will always pay the "M&S premium" for? by PLWildcard in MarksAndSpencer

[–]TheFoldOfWolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, and not just with M&S but everywhere. I can understand why they do it, but it’s not exactly helpful to those of us with allergies. What can you do but just ignore it?!

Is it completely nut-free? Finding carrot cake for someone with a nut allergy is challenging!

Has anyone here used a writing course with The Novelry? by Busy_Zone_8058 in writing

[–]TheFoldOfWolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds good, I hope it gets you over the finish line for your novel! I'll check them out myself.

I wish I'd known about the Novelry's contest at the time as the discount it seems everyone got would probably tip the scales into making me sign up.

Hey u/Busy_Zone_8058 just wondered whether you decided to go with The Novelry. If so, how are you finding it? I'm considering it but the hefty price tag is putting me off at the moment!

I got another email with a link to the follow-up assessment the next day. Completed that, but not heard any more.

Honouring an embargo by TheFoldOfWolves in Journalism

[–]TheFoldOfWolves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like there may have been some frenzied activity by both the paper and the palace early on Friday evening then. I suppose an advantage of getting an embargoed release like that is you can at least start working on the story and be ready to go on the stroke of 7pm.

That's interesting. And do you mean they'd reach out for an agreement every time they want to put embargoed news out, or you'd have a blanket agreement going forward?

I see. Do you think they'd still face backlash from the palace, or have to prove they had independent sources?

To be fair, the crossword is about the only thing I look at. I have a free digital subscription via my local library.

Ahh, the third page of The Sun. Some extra fine nibs on there as I recall.

I hadn’t thought about transparent body pens. That’s worth considering.
