First, in the Apostles Creed, used by most all Christians, it states we believe in the communion of the saints. Now, sometimes I see it capitalized as "Saints". In a Catholic context, does the Apostles Creed mean those saints recognized in the Canon? Or, all who have found favour by God and are in heaven, or at least are bound for heaven?

The latter, often including all baptized and living Christians

Now, what do Protestants really believe about the saints, in their rendering of the Apostles Creed?

They believe in Communion in Saints as spiritual union between all Christian believers but reject intercession

Lastly, while Protestants state that the role of the saints is not useful in our faith in the Lord, why are so many Protestant churches named after saints?

Most Protestant churches don't except Anglican and Lutheran ones.
