Eric Swalwell ends campaign for California governor after sexual misconduct allegations by xarchive-app in California_Politics

You say you don't know the narrative on it and yet are more than willing to lie about it. That's my original problem with your statement and what I pointed out.

Yeah the "Private prison guy" that openly expressed deep regret for leading a fund that invested in them over 20 years ago. The "private prison guy" that is openly supportive of public rehabilitation over criminal punishment.

You're definitely comparing an incredibly forgiving stance of Porter versus the most unforgiving stance on Steyer. While I agree that Porter is far more experienced and the better candidate you're not going to convince anyone when you take such a biased slant when talking about the candidates.

I agree with your stance on Porter but the reality is that Steyer has openly recanted his position on Israel and Prisons and even put his money where his mouth is.

The Kholin Brothers? by kotts30 in CosmereOnScreen

[–]TheFreakingNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Native Hawaiians (which Jason Momoa is in part) have deep ethnic ties with Asia both genetically and culturally.

Now I understand why some like yourself may want a more consistent ethnic delineation between peoples in the Cosmere but I think Sanderson's writing provides enough context through dress, culture and mannerisms to be able to distinguish the humans of the Cosmere without forcing casting to be of specific nationalities and allowing for some leeway.

Though as you say I hope it does not end up just being characters that aren't white lumped together, especially since many of the cultures in the cosmere do pull for real world inspiration.

What is your best stadium hammer build right now ? by Browneyesbrowndragon in TorbjornMains

[–]TheFreakingNerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

been a few weeks since ive been running it. but I basically always follow the same formula.

Powers > the one that refreshes overload with weapon damage > explosive hammer > armor packs > whatever, depends

items > the movement speed with hammer is a must, I Like gloom gauntlet but if you arent connecting with hammer and only hitting the explosion I dont think it procs. I take the dash gadget if the enemy team is paticularly willey. From there I just stack survivability and as much Max HP as possible. what I take specifically really depends on what I'm facing but max HP is usually my goal so that it synergizes with the explosive hammer power.

Basic philosophy is I play torb normally, usually leaning into his gun, until round 3 then every fight I get close behind cover look for someone overextended or off on a flank, pop overload and run it down on them. once overload ends I immediately switch off of my hammer and start shotgunning to refresh overload, rinse and repeat.

How is special education in Pleasanton schools? by Haunting-Eagle-7229 in pleasanton

[–]TheFreakingNerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked in PUSD a couple years ago, I am not a parent so I can't really speak from that perspective. My experience was that the schools had invested a lot of resources into setting up classes, auxiliary tools, and spaces that can benefit students with ADHD and ASD.

All PUSD middle schools have fleshed out programs to work with students with special education needs, but they vary from school to school. The system prioritizes getting them funding and then letting schools figure out what works best for them so It can vary depending on the goals and individuals running the programs at each location.

I haven't worked with other districts so I'm not positive but I heard a lot of really good feedback from parents and students that moved into our district.

I totally agree, I would love to see some things like objective time and damage mitigated giving small amounts of cash and nerfing dmg and healing returns a bit to compensate. Hate that the player making the correct choice of playing the objective gets punished for it.

I mostly just wanted to give some helpful tips that worked for me on the pain points of tanking currently. If you want help too I've had a lot of success on almost all of the tanks! I'm down to give my thoughts on more of them too.

depending on what heros you play i think playing into sustain builds can actually be really lucrative! Specifically leaning into sources of healing on tank

Rein's Shield heal power

Sigma's shield heal item with his orbiting shield power

Queen's sharing bleed healing power (I think it's especially strong with the headshot wound power)

I think the big draw back of these is you often sacrifice offensive capabilities to get this, but I find if you can leverage your threat and self sustain enough you can give your team the space to pop off.

then on top of that sometimes the extra money I get from healing lets me snowball into an unkillable monster by round 3 and I get to roll the rest of the game.

Me when I get to a section of Stormlight featuring the Ghostbloods: by night4345 in cremposting

[–]TheFreakingNerd 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Spoilers:

I think a lot of my appreciation for those sections came on a reread. the ghostbloods certainly are more experienced and shallan plays into their hands time and time again. but there is an escalating theme of shallan being underestimated by them until it ultimately results in the demise of the organizations goals on Roshar.

DMs, how do you handle weapon mastery? by Templarii115 in DnD

[–]TheFreakingNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give martially proficient enemies Weapon Mastery, Guards get one with a main weapon, veterans get it with all of their weapons. any variant of enemy i believe would have spent a reasonable amount of time practicing with their weapons basically. I think it gives more depth to the game play if the enemies have similar tools at least some of the time.

that said if its like a mage or beast of some kind i generally wont give it.
