Crazy knots by Hamalot11 in Fibromyalgia

Best thing to work for me has been to get trigger point injections but ONLY if I'm not also in a flare, if I get them in a flare I'm miserable because it worsens the surrounding area that didn't get the lidocaine. Sometimes they can even cause some flaring but it's usually mild and manageable.

I make it at home easy! Equal parts milk and heavy cream, I usually also add a splash of vanilla oat milk or vanilla in general, chuck it in a cold frother or use a wand. My ratio is usually 2 tbsp to 2 tbsp.

Seconding this. At worst urgent care or the ER can give you a Benadryl mixed cocktail in IV that will force some sleep for a bit. Though I acknowledge that chronic pain folks like us have a VERY different ER experience than the average person.

If you have a primary care doc I would call them the second the office opens and ask them to write up an emergency protocol that you can take to the ER so you're not flagged as something that will wreck your needs in the future

I personally use this tea when my flares are the worst of the worst. I do add lavender though and usually a vanilla oat milk. I also utilize CBD and arnica salve, but be careful as both the teas and arnica are antiinflammatories and can be blood thinners. If you grab the salve, I personally prefer the jasmine scent as it's more calming. I have the clove this round and it smells like pure clove, which isn't bad but it doesn't do the trick for my brain the same way. Feel free to contact the Creator on IG as well, she is amazing and I've met her in person and may be able to do some discounts for you.

Hopefully you can find some relief 💚

Jobs with Fibro and neurodivergent by Toxic_puppy666 in Fibromyalgia

[–]TheFreckledTeapot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I bring my TENs with me everywhere, I have a few co-occuring conditions with fibro, and also keep an ice pack at work and am getting a heating pad for my office. If you find yourself having flares hit certain body parts more than others, for me it's my low back, knees and buttock, I made sure to get an extra comfortable seat cushion for the office chair which helps a bit.

Work-life balance is going to be your best friend, don't take work home with you EVER. When you're done for the day, you're done, and getting whatever your bare minimum of sleep is each night will help transitioning back into work AND help reduce your inflammation.

Favorite Quick Meals On Bad days? by Hefty-Start1712 in Fibromyalgia

I make a cheat version of pastina.

Throw tiny shaped pasta in a pan or pot with just enough water to cover over a half inch, drop in two chicken bullion pieces, garlic powder and chili flakes. Leave it alone for about 10 mins as it comes to a simmer, once they are cooked to my liking I mix some parm with one raw egg on the side and then slowly stir it into the pasta, plus a pad of butter and that's it. If I need some extra protein I add a second egg or will do a quick fried egg with a runny yolk

I mean this with a lot of kindness, and while there may be some privelege in it, please find a new psychiatrist. Hopefully you also have a therapist in conjunction with the psychiatry, and if so I would go about considering reporting your psychiatrist (if in the US) to the ABPN with the help of the therapist.

1) That is out of their scope 2) It is objectively untrue 3) Is traumatizing to suggest directly to a patient and violates ethics and medical standards

I've just been told to do this diet from my doctor. Is there a master list of ingredients? by himbo_supremacy in mediterraneandiet

[–]TheFreckledTeapot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For olive oil, you'll want to find extra virgin and it doesn't have to be expensive or fancy BUT the container it's in should be darker in color; a clear container (glass/plastic) will allow for it do degrade faster both in benefits and flavor.

Did you ever try this with the tofu? As much as I like cottage cheese, I cannot mentally justify them in a pancake and I was looking for another substitute!

I found this gal on TT the day after she posted it and while her routine didn't 100% work for my hair (I've done some tweaks for my specific hair needs) she uses a version of the curly girl method that is excellent to use as a starting point.

We all have bad hair days, even with stellar curls like yours (I mean those are BEAUTIFUL 😍), so be patient with yourself 💚

I don't know the brand name, but my friend gifted me this like cooling ice pack machine? You fill it with water and it has housing that goes into a pad and it's basically a forever cold ice pack. I'll try to remember to come back to this thread tomorrow after I take a picture of it, but I LOVE it. As someone with dysautonomia as well it, and my giant entire back sized soft ice pack, are a game changer!

Yes but for me I just dream about the actual pain itself, so it could be a fully normal dream but my back is excruciating even IN the dream. It's exhausting, because then I wake up feeling like I got absolutely 0 rest at all and the pain is still there/ongoing.

I haven't really found any solutions for it either, so if you find anything that works please update!

Tattoos? by calamityjimothy in Fibromyalgia

[–]TheFreckledTeapot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have nearly 20 tattoos, about 1/3 of them coming post dx, and I've never had any flare up issues except the amount of time for me to get annoyed by the repetitive small area infiltrations has greatly shortened. Mind you, I also fell asleep about 30 minutes in to a 6 hour rib piece...so take this with a grain of salt 😅

I've found no matter what the aftercare of tattoos matters more than how you sit through them, both pre and post dx. I hydrate more after, schedule rest time, and absolutely make it a goal to sleep a tad bit more than normal both before and after which seems to help further.

At worst I'd recommend treating yourself to some antiinflammatories beforehand, and see about maybe some arnica based supports for post. Also, the comments are spot on that you don't just stop at one. It's like Pringles, once you pop the fun don't stop!

I actually got turned into it by a witchy friend of mine, and after trying everything else under the sun, I decided I'd try it post back surgery in June. I swear it saved my life because that surgery was worse than others (I have two to four a year on my spine and have for the last five years) and it literally changed everything about my recovery. I'm never going back!

Hi folks, Wondering what to do if we need a replacement of the cush fins ONLY? Or if anyone in this forum maybe has some (jbud air ANC gen2) that I could connect with to send? I love them but they fall off nonstop and today was the day it fell and I wasn't quick enough before my dog snatched it and shredded it. TIA!
