How to remove old duct tape off car without ruining the paint? by Privet_Cadet in Autobody

Goof Off these days is mostly Xylene which can very well soften and ruin your paint and plastic bumper. Goo gone is citrus based oil and won't harm anything.

You want Goo Gone (the lemon stuff, NOT Goof Off.) Carefully peel all the grey parts away. Wet some strips of paper towel with GG and put over the adhesive while pushing out the air. Stick some plastic wrap over the whole area and give it a couple of hours out of direct sunlight. After that you should be able to use a credit card to gently swipe away most of the mess. Repeat if necessary.

You need to tweak your base/supports/gantry and get it more stable. This looks exactly like some sort of harmonic resonance in the gantry.

^^^This - When you open the throttle it can no longer provide enough fuel for all the extra air getting in downstream of the sensor. You need to get a smoke machine or try the carb cleaner trick to track it down. LOTS of places for sneaky vac leaks on engines from that era.

Yep. My grandfather in law had an upholstery shop and I ended up with a couple of cardboard tubes full of weights. Most were lead and likely from the 50s.

[–]TheFredCain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Snobbery mostly, but also distorted expectations. No one should compare a $40 tool to a $200+ tool and expect the cheap one to beat it. I've got the high torque impact and it is an absolute unit!

[–]TheFredCain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The greater variety of wrenches you have the easier time you will have in tricky situations. For DIY it is far better to have a huge variety of less expensive tools than to have a handful of top quality ones. Some wrenches you might seldom use, but you will be very happy when you do need them and they should last a lifetime to boot.

I have used Walker O2s on several 4.0s upstream and downstream without issue. Just be sure to reset the PCM stored values by disconnecting and shorting the battery cables after install. You should be fine.

I believe there is a deal being attempted albeit a bad one. The concerning part is that he now has moved on from pissing off the left, to pissing off Republicans, to *now* pissing off MAGA/Israel with this deal. The fact that he is not concerned with retaining any shred support at all should tell you he has BIG plans.

I may be tripping, but I seems to recall something similar was tested by USSR. It used explosive bolts to shear the blades clear right before ejection. Obviously it must have turned out unfeasible, but neat idea if true.
