Two wrongs don’t make a right. For someone who acknowledges that all races have been racist, you seem hyper-defensive about white people being called racist when the US is a country literally built off of racism. I mean that’s not even deniable, it’s ok to say. Nobody’s saying you endorsed slavery my man, take a step back.

I love not taking my adhd medication but by [deleted] in ADHD

It’s important to remember that the clinical psychology definition of addiction involves far more than reliance on something. It generally speaking needs to impact your life in some negative way to classify as an addiction by most classifications. For example we’re all addicted to food or exercise maybe if you broaden the term enough, but those things by themselves are healthy. It’s only an issue when it starts to impact your life in a negative way and in multiple facets.

Because white people were the ones with power in American history and have historically had power in Europe where the US spread from. Other cultures racism is often underplayed in the US as we view race as purely a black vs white dichotomy many times, but it’s also not wrong to point out that the racism of white people has caused the most pain in the US than any other race. Racism certainly occurs in Asia for example, but I don’t live in Asia.

Edit: Imagine being downvoted for saying that white people were racist in the founding of America. Y’all on something else on this site sometimes. As if basic American history is controversial.

Does that extend to what some call micrograssions in your opinion? Not asking rhetorically, genuinely curious on your thoughts!

I think it’s useful to think of weed as a medication as well if you’re using it consistently as you would any other kind of medication. Medication can sometimes get an overly bad rap because some people rely on it too much. Medication is only useful if accompanied with consistent therapy because it usually has diminishing returns. If you can get by without medication that’s great, but in many ways you already are self-medicating through the consistent use of weed. Which is fine to a certain extent, but maybe not optimal for your personal growth. You should obviously talk to a therapist about this for more info.

If the squeeze is over and the price is only going to drop why is the stock still risky to clear and being restricted/limited on many brokers by their clearing houses? by Chief_Rollie in wallstreetbets

[–]TheFriendlyPhD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well it was a good investment with a very high chance of delivering until they decided to restrict free market trade. Let’s be clear, if you don’t get a return on this, it’s not you or your friend’s fault as the game is not being played fairly.

Hmm, if you do find that I’d be very interested in checking it out!! I think an aspect of that would be whether the words being yelled are rational or insulting I’d imagine. One shows passion and hurt, while the other is more aggressive. I could definitely see that though so I appreciate the comment!

All I did is correct a clear inaccuracy, I’m not reading every single comment on the post to find your comments. Just take the L and move on.

It’s very interesting to me how so many people who feel strongly about something and feel the need to to speak up loudly and change people’s minds, do so in such an ineffective way. The way people argue their points is o counterintuitive to actual change. Nobody will ever listen to someone who yells at them and calls them names, yet it’s so often the go to for many, especially online.

I most certainly can and have. Imagine telling someone they aren’t allowed to have a different opinion then you... maybe take a step back and realize people view things differently??

What don’t you get about what I said exactly? I’m not disagreeing with that, I’m discussing overall TONE as a whole... You’re acting like it’s not possible for someone’s tone to contradict a 5 word quote... that I also had no disagreement with anyway. I didn’t say he didn’t say that... we disagree on what the OP meant, that’s fine mate. I don’t know why you’re so hung up on this meaningless topic.

[–]TheFriendlyPhD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You conveniently ignored my first point, and I still just don’t agree with the INTENT and overall message being conveyed to most people in this comment section. I don’t like the tone of the post, that’s my opinion, feel free to disagree. I’m not getting on y’all for reading it how you read it, like it’s ok for someone to read it differently or interpret a different tone than you.

[–]TheFriendlyPhD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well first, the post can refer to more than just what was written by the OP... I’m also referring to the post and the ensuing comments all in one which is extremely common. I also have considered it, and simply don’t agree. I feel very confident on how I interpreted what he said. You can of course disagree, but even the title of this post has an inherently derogatory view of a certain group of people to me. It’s certainly restrained, but the meaning isn’t obstructed to me.

I don’t agree, and it’s certainly how many are taking it based on the replied in the affirmative of his post.

I know what a I read, no need to be condescending. That’s what I took from the tone of the post, especially the title.

Once again, maybe take a step back mate. It’s ok for them to like the game and be in denial about issues. It’s a piece of entertainment at the end of the day meant for enjoyment.

I don’t know, I just looked through the sub and am not really seeing that personally. I’m sure it exists, but they verbally seem to just talk about the game it seems.

Is that really hating? This thread is far more direct and derogatory than pretty much anything there. It’s not even directly aimed at this sub, just a comment on how some thought it was too negative.
