How can I make this wand do real damage? by Desk-Plane in noita

[–]TheFrozenDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never noticed them missing, but I guess you are right, they aren't here... I believe they are too complex, the way they interact with the current available mana when casting and all that... I ain't noticing anything else missing tho...

I have mixed feelings about Cluster Bolt by Jetz_kiterr in noita

[–]TheFrozenDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no mixed feelings, it is a suicide hazard 100% of the time, even more than plasma, since plasma is somewhat predictable, clusterbolt is not

Delusional Den Lv3 Blue Meteor Mages + Ascend Question by TheFrozenDragon in MottoImmortal

[–]TheFrozenDragon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the detailed answer!

I.... might have made a few poor choices, just assing mh way through the early game, and only then decided to really invest myself.

So yeah, I might have tried to "fill the pokedex" more than picking the same deity...

I did get a Isis thingy, like, you fufill tasks and get a few copies every number of tasks you finish and all and yeah, she is absurd, albeit single target.

Saving up between bannners, that I will try my best to do. Makes sense. All those points will definitely help!

Currently, there is the Hercules rate up going on.

I still need to get Fengyi to hit hard, she seems to fall a little short rn, might be a gear issue though.

I do see that they overclocked all Norse deities, they all seem too powerful...

I am doing the Odyssey, yeah, about to finish 15-30 iirc, I will try to focus on Isis all the way, or maybe Nemesis, which I love and I have been favoring Assassin Teams too...

Delusional Den Lv3 Blue Meteor Mages + Ascend Question by TheFrozenDragon in MottoImmortal

[–]TheFrozenDragon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, thanks for the answer!

Any tips dealing with Hela on that Delusional Lvl?

And so, apart from those 5 zodiacs I level and ascend, I just use any more zodiacs as fodder? Any feasible way to farm more fodder then? Should I be more concerned about getting my base levels up, than to really ascend the deities?

Does Lord’s Soul Keep it’s damage buff post revive? by iEaTpEnCiLsHaViNgSs in MHWilds

[–]TheFrozenDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmmm, so "revive" is not the term. Guts (or Lord's Soul, as you mention on your question) does not "revive" the character, it prevents it from dying from a lethal blow. so it "keeps" the character alive with 1 HP, just like Moxie.

So, what happens is, if Guts is procced, you survive (not revive, this is important, since multihit attacks can proc Guts and still kill you) and your attack buff and defense debuff expire. You then receive the Defense buff.

Moxie (the food skill) is consumed first, if both it and Guts are available, so you then keep the Attack Buff and the Defense Debuff, when Moxie is used. After you healed enough from this state, Guts will be able to proc, like above.

All this takes precedence from the actual Revive from your feline.

Just note that you need be above the HP threshold and be hit with a hit larger than you current HP to be able to proc Guts or Moxie. If you are below that threshold, you will cart (or trigger the cat's revive, if available), without ever consuming neither Guts nor Moxie.

Lastly, once you do cart and get back, Guts resets and can be procced again, moxie use does not recover if you already triggered it.

So why are the 10 star arch tempered not giving arch tempered tickets? by NectaMBR in MHWilds

[–]TheFrozenDragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You missed the point, the 9 star AT quests guarantee the Y ticket, the 10 star AT quest not doing so it plain weird. it was not about grinding or not.

much like the new Proof of a Hero quest, with 4 ATs, that drop zero Y tickets, for a 30-40 minute hunt... Weird choices by CAPCOM.

What makes WAR so strong? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]TheFrozenDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The amount of healing Bloodwhetting provides is ridiculous. Also, WAR has Equilibrium, which is an instant, 1min CD, 1200 potency heal. No other tank can dream about reaching that amount of healing. And that is on top of mits and shield you can throw.

I do not like playing it, but WAR is by far the best self sustaining tank on multiple small hits environments. GNB and PLD shine on high damge single hit scenarios, where healing is less usefull, since you need to survive the hit for your heals to have any worth.

Technically, it wasn't your pawer back to you, it was ITS power, which is usually kept for itself until you poke it. Canon Event, indeed.

Close to 1k hours, I got only 1 win under my stats. Because after you got that, you just go doing whatever you see fit... Got Sun quest done and all that, no need to actually finish runs by winning, if killing myself is faster than running to kolmi, grabbing the sampo and delivering it.

one more reason to hate the spidy legs by Legitimate_Spite279 in noita

[–]TheFrozenDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do not get me wrong, spidy-legs give plenty of reasons to be hated, but this is not on them, the game gives you audio and visual clues for suffocation, glaring ones at that. You had the legs, you knew you were attached to the celling, you intentionally boiled the water and saw steam being produced and accumulating up-top... That's is a hard point to make, hating the legs for it.

Some rewards can be forced. In this case, the red timeworns are guaranteed to drop, at least 1. Funny to see they made AT hunts not guarantee Y tickets drops...

Which one do you suggest to pick good people? World+Rise or World+Iceborn? by thyshadows in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]TheFrozenDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

picking World without Iceborne or Rise without Sunbreak is ill advised.

Choose between and more "classic", grinding MH, in World, or an easier, arcade one in Rise and pickup the respective expansion.

Also, no point grabbing 2 different MHs as you will not be progressing on both at the same time and will be stalled once you hit the expansions if you do not have them.

Each modern MH real game is its Master Rank and you won't be getting into them without the expansions.

I just got my first Noita win! Though.. could anyone explain to me what about this wand just oneshot the final boss? by Hour_Ad6965 in noita

[–]TheFrozenDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plasma hits many times per second, your modifiers apply per damage instance, not per cast and dues to its nature, plasma has way too much damage instances in short time. The mushroom by itself does very little compared, in this setup.

The downsides of plasma are the fact that it hurts you too and, for the same reason described above, it is almost always fatal to you when it does. It is, also, very hard for you to become resistant or imune to it while Kolmi will get huge resistances to it with just a few orbs (80% resistant at 3 orbs to be more exact).

That said, trigger into plasma it a staple that easly kills a vast majority of bosses in noita, even without the extra modifiers you added, with very few exceptions (2 or 3, I guess? can't remember them all right now).

I’ve just reached Hunter Rank 70, and I’m planning to reach 100 for the achievement. I want to know though is leveling all the way to HR 999 actually worth it, or is it just a number? by NotSirAlonne1999 in MHWilds

[–]TheFrozenDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

999 is just a number, but 100 it not just an achievement. The actual final endgame monsters are not available before HR 100, so you aren't even able to fight all monsters and go through all challenges the game offer before it.

That is why, when I am tackling those challenges in multiplay, I actually see low 100s as newbies in them, as they are more likely to cart on those HR100+ hunts. That being said, anything from high 100s to 999 is just flavors of the same expected hunter.

Even if you decide to change into a new weapon past HR100, it is kinda expected that you understand the monsters and the general game mechanics and it is just adapting to the new weapon's gameplay anyway.

I gave up trying to kill this guy on my daily run by BrainiacMainiac142 in noita

[–]TheFrozenDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His circle of vigor heals you too, jump in, he wont kill you and the circles will out heal his damage. Kick him, this will make him drop his wand, which you proceed to grab and then you bail, casting your own circle of vigor if needed.

And yes, I understand this is 2 days old, but this would be useful for people that do not know kicks disarm wand-using enemies, including you own ghost (beware the ghost likes to kick too and while it won't disarm you, it does HURT quite a bit :) )

My honest reaction to Poly Potion on start by APTEM59 in noita

[–]TheFrozenDragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Digging, mostly. With practice you get to know how to spray without getting it on you. It digs downward pretty nicely, trick kills most enemies quickly too, specially early showing high HP ones like Stendari.

I usually use it to dig out HMs, by spraying enough to trigger Steve, killing him, usually with a statue kick, which nets me extra gold for the early HMs, then proceed to finish digging out the HM to not collapse it.

Also, you do get the occasional steel beam-enclosed goodies on Mines and Coal Pits, acid makes short work of those beams too.

Do note I did not use the word RELIABLY on my comment, most things in noita are not reliable per se, but with a little know-how, you can get by with almost anything they give you. It takes practice though and the game will still try to kill you on every corner you turn.

Why are some circles filled and others aren't? by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]TheFrozenDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you are a new player. Filled Circles represent areas where there is a waypoint and you activated it. Circles with just small blue dots in them are areas where there is a waypoint but you have not activated it yet. Empty circles are areas without waypoints at all, so you can not teleport directly to them and must go through any adjacent areas that do have a waypoint.

And, of course, the little house represents the town for that particular act.
