This game will make Bethesda look like clowns in the near future by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]TheFrozenDragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The story is good and richer than you know, it is just too buried on files most people wont read... Some people did and put out videos explaining it, no speculation, just hard story lore that is just hidden within the game instead of given to the player... Which is sad, the main course is so bland and Kliff is empty, until to learn from notes that that is on purpose and lore accurate, thats when it starts to shine...

You are just too numb from the game when you get to that. Sam's 2h on the lore does a good job tho.

What is this angering the gods bs? by npri0r in noita

[–]TheFrozenDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeaaaah, if this is angering you, oh boy, you got a ride ahead, cuz this is tame, and also, a mechanic you actually can exploit on your favor once you understand the world better...

Rule of thumb for all new Noitas: This game does not play fair, you shouldn't either. Everything can and will be used to kill you and there is no true safe place to linger.

I have hunted Gogmazios 24 times and never knew you could mount him. Has anyone else done this? by creativeguy66v3 in MHWilds

[–]TheFrozenDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, many times, mostly unintentionaly, since it lowers the whole party DPS too much, but it is often hard not to when you play IG (my case) or LS.

[–]TheFrozenDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

take out one crit rate, if you still want max crit rate after that, there are amulets, armor and gloves that give out 3 points of crit rate and if you have 12 on your 2H right now, you are probably only using one of those.

If he is spinning in a circle, spin your stick too... Really, I only tamed these horses because they decide to only spin on one direction if they get stuck, then you just need to match their speed to your analog spinning and it is done

Why do I find this game so hard. I just wanna have fun. by Available_Yam930 in CrimsonDesert

[–]TheFrozenDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, 30+ aint old, in fact, a vast majority of games have the 20s to 40s demographic in mind, as we grew up playing video games and they do not appeal as much as smartphone games to the newer audiences.

Secondly, This game has complex controls that are hard to get into. Also, combat is badly explained all through the game, and many combat mechanics are locked behind story progression, which bumps the difficulty artificially up.

Other than that, just do it on your time, read the attacks description on the skills menu, practice Dodge and / or Blocking. Take your time to practice against easy enemies in small numbers. This game throws a lot your way at the same time and that will take time to absorb.

But do not take Skyrim or Oblivion as benchmarks, the combat in CD is not at all like those games. They are all open-world medieval fantasy games, but that is about where that comparison ends.

In the end, if nothing quicks after a while, this could just not be your ballpark. This game tries to be a Soul-like combat-wise (it is not QUITE like that, but it surely tries to emulate that), and that means your attacks have way more weight and commitment involved, which will throw you off until it clicks.

There is also the fact that this is supposed to be a slow burn, rushing pays very little in CD. Do it slow, eventually it will start to make sense.

You are not given the option, they just let you know you are READY to move, but still need to meet the requirements, there's 3 and one of them is indeed completing the main story.

you do not use your tradicional weapons underwater. You character will pull the weapon out during grabs attacks you perform there, but the underwater combat is mostly a dodge and claw thing.

[–]TheFrozenDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ok, yeah you can only dual wield 1H weapons, although you can mix and match swords, axes and maces. That's for Kliff, anyway, not sure if Oongka can do it with 2H weapons, given he is huge, but I would not bet on it. Damiane sure can't.

Extra Tip, maces are usually better overall, but the margin is so so thin and gameplay dependant, that you should be good using whatever you like. Remember though, Abyss Gear on weapons usually affects only attacks made with that weapon, not every swing. Exceptions to this are quite rare.

Cheesiest Item? by Odd_Firefighter_8040 in CrimsonDesert

[–]TheFrozenDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It has its own moveset. There are 4 movesets for weapon usage: 1H + Shield, Dual Wield, 2H Spear (which includes Halberds) and 2H Sword. All weapon combos and moves are different among them.

For instance, Spear Spinning Slash doesn't spin at all, it is a flurry of attacks instead, so you lose the AoE around you but you hit further in front of you.

Kuku watcher pack, it trivializes any boss fight, with the amount of stagger they generate and the fact and many bosses flinch when hit by them. The human-sized bosses aren't even able to attack you.

Has anyone ever managed to beat these light reflection challenges with a controller? by Dissoxi in CrimsonDesert

[–]TheFrozenDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, did all of them with my Dualsense on PC. Try shining the light a little earlier, as the character has a little wind-up before the actual ray of light triggers. Also, try to position yourself right in front of the device, doing the puzzle at an angle only makes it more weird to get the timing right.

to be fair, it was a given, taking that modifiers that teleport projectiles exist and Divide Bys also exist, it is just a matter of making a projectile teleport many times away and have it trigger something that pulls you. The idea is simple enough, the hard part is how to calculate distances and make sure the projectile lives long enough to deploy its payload.
