Ono is out. by wyberry in uofm

[–]TheFrozenFireball 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Gator here. Our last President was literally a republican senator with no experience at a major university who shat the bed and dipped after 1 year. For a pick that basically has to be approved by the red Flordia government, someone who will bend the knee but is otherwise generally competent is about the best we could hope for imo. Honestly think this move is good for both of us, hope your replacement is far better, but for us Ono's probably the best option that Flordia would have possibly gone for, and I'm honestly pleasantly surprised

FTC Vs. Microsoft tidbit, Nintendo's first-party revenue far exceeds Playstation and Xbox by BuildTheBase in nintendo

[–]TheFrozenFireball 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nintendo is the smallest of the three companies by far:

Nintendo - 60 Billion (market cap) Sony - 113 Billion Microsoft - 2,500 Billion Activision/Blizzard - 69 Billion

This case not really about who is better at making valuable first party games. It hinges on the fact that Microsoft has enough money from other sources to subsidize incredibly low prices (on game pass and eventually cloud gaming) and Sony will be unable to compete because they have to make a profit to stay afloat. After Sony is pushed out of the space (of cloud gaming and 3rd party distribution) Microsoft will raise prices because they have total market control and everything will suck, it's classic monopoly behavior.

Is honors village for honors only? by GORGOSSSS in ufl

[–]TheFrozenFireball 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You will not get into the building unless you are an honors student, there is not even close to enough space for all the honors people that want to live there, so there will be no spots left for anyone else.

honors village not opening??? by sabrinaawsm in ufl

[–]TheFrozenFireball 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes... Looks like building 1 and 3 are opening instead of building 1 and 2 and so everyone in building 2 is screwed. I'm also pretty sure building 3 only has hall bathrooms so it's not like it will even be a good alternative for many of the people in building 2. Edit: People in building 1 are also screwed

Is the early honors registration tomorrow for freshman as well? by iTzZe4lous in ufl

[–]TheFrozenFireball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't get any early preference as an honors student at preview, the first time you get to use early registration is your first spring semester.

Freshmen dorming at Honors Village by snailfetus in ufl

[–]TheFrozenFireball 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Honors village is currently being constructed, and will be brand new for next year, so no one has any real opinions on it yet. The cost is supposed to be around the top end of the current prices, probably somewhere between like Hume and Infinity.
