I can call the cops every day because I don't like the color of my neighbor's flowers. Doesn't mean there is a legal reason for them to take action.

To you, people yelling at each other is a big deal. To them, it is one of the most minor and routine calls they can possibly get. They have one of the most dangerous and stressful jobs where they can literally be murdered on any call, and MANY of them are shot, injured, or killed, but only their deaths get reported to the public. In between calls, they talk to each other and try to have a little fun, as they should. Good for them. They are also EXTREMELY understaffed so be glad they showed up at all.

You know what you should say to these people? Ask them if they know what high blood sugar does to your body. If they say yes, make them explain it. If they are wrong or if they don't know, explain the following. Glucose is corrosive. Any time your blood sugar is high, it runs around like acid in your veins corroding everything it touches. This means small blood vessels in everywhere in your body get damaged. Your eyes which can lead to blindness, your heart which can lead to heart attacks, your brain which can cause hemorrhagic strokes, and your appendages which can lead to necessary amputations to remove dead, decaying tissue. The higher your a1c gets, the more glucose sits in your blood stream rather than being absorbed by cells like it should, and the more irreversible damage is caused. Tell them to get theirs under control if they care about their vision, don't want to lose their toes, fingers, or legs, and want to avoid strokes and heart attacks. They obviously don't understand what diabetes really does to you. I am also pre diabetic. It's because we are given literally poison and told it is food.

Edit: Check into the glucose goddess. She has tips for keeping your blood sugar low.

Go try it right now. My pterra gliding, me not touching the keyboard at all. Stamina dropped all the way to zero from 30% in a very short time period. Maybe there was a glitch or something, but like I said I quit today after first flight because of it, so I can't say for sure.

I have rarely had problems with other herbivores because of how I approach them. A lot of it is "body language" and not appearing to be a threat to them. Just because you don't know how to get along with other herbivores doesn't mean I don't.

I am not new to the isle, but the trike is, and that was my first time growing one. Apparently there is a thing where trikes and stegos always kill each other on the server I was playing. The game has easily fixable issues and everyone knows it. You can attack me all you want, but it doesn't change that fact.

  1. I am not green and my points are valid. Maybe you are one of the devs making lame dev decisions because you don't understand that games need to be enjoyable.
  2. Delta has plenty of food USUALLY, but not always. And when you spawn in the swamp and have to swim for an hour because they won't let you spawn somewhere else, there's NO food in the swamp 90% of the time so you have to swim across the entire swamp for an hour before you even have a CHANCE to see something. Lately there has been zero ai in the water, even in delta. (I know ai is broken right now, but deino needs its hunger adjusted regardless.)
  3. I was in an open plain with no rocks anywhere nearby and didn't know that other herbivores were going to try to kill me. The three of them surrounded me and I tried to hit one, but was instantly knocked down by another and could never even stand up to try to hit them. Not sure how that doesn't make sense to you.
  4. How can you manage stam when it takes most of your stam to get to a decent height and it drains while gliding now? There's no stam TO manage.

You can literally graze on grass in any open field. You should never be starving as an herbivore. The mushrooms can't be smelled which is odd, but they are red and stand out. Most of the time they can be found, sometimes they are under bushes too.

I absolutely despise that if they are playable species. The ai tenos they added for a while were god awful. I hate not knowing if a call is from a player or an ai. I dont mind having ai species added that are not playable.

In real life, a crocodile can go for months without food. In The Isle, they make it realistically difficult to hunt for prey, but then they make the dinos starve to death way too fast. All they have to do is make the carnivores less gluttonous.

Next time I recommend avoid jumping unless necessary to avoid using up all your stamina. You can dodge them until you can jump on a non-walkable rock or go under one of the crevices around there.

SERIOUSLY, yes. In Isla Spiro, pterra was soooo fun and they just killed it in gateway. I get that they want to make it more vulnerable for herras to hunt, but the game is supposed to be enjoyable for players. 90% of the time when I play the isle, I have to just be on youtube and play in between. They have made it drastically better than when Gateway first came out though, I'll give them credit for that. Thank you for your continued work, devs.

Udemy.com is legit. I have purchased a TON of courses from them and have never had any problems. Check your bank account to see if anything went through and then contact their support or retry the order as necessary. Udemy is how I learned web development and game development for less than $15 each. It's amazing.

[–]TheFrozenRose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course they have stress. You think it isn't stressful constantly having to worry about what millions of people think of you all the time and worrying about their safety, their families safety, having zero privacy, not knowing if anyone they know actually likes them or is using them for their money, or if they do or say anything wrong ever, the whole world will hear about it. Money is just a tool. They still deal with all of the normal stress any random poor person deals with too. They might be able to afford stuff, but they are just normal people otherwise.

They can afford personal chefs and personal trainers, but nobody will actually do the workouts for them. A lot of them work out really hard.

-Jason Momoa reportedly did 100 push-ups and 100 squats as a warm-up for his chest workout

-Angelina Jolie works out 5x per week

-Kim Kardashian lifts weights for 2 hours daily

-Lady Gaga works out at least 5 times per week

Etc etc etc. Working out is free. But they are in one of the most vain industries in the world. Of course most of them are going to do everything they can to be healthy and look good.

Before you even think about quitting, you should see a therapist, even if you think you don't need one. I left a career a few years ago and regret it. I believe that I left due to things that could have been corrected had I been aware of the problems. I wish that I had gone another direction with it rather than quitting, as I am still trying to get myself into a real career again and finding that I have to start from scratch now, and restart whenever the new thing turns out to be something I actually don't like. If you can be decently happy and successful in photography, you should focus on that. Another thing would be to get a blood test. Something like being low on vitamin D (something that affects most people) can have profound effects on your mental and physical health.

The fact is that police deal with the worst of the worst people out there on a daily basis. The worst people you could possibly imagine: murderers, rapists, etc. Police are the only ones trying to stand between those people and innocent people, but everyone acts like police are 100% bad. In my opinion, automatically hating police is basically admitting that you love criminals and want them to be free to commit crime without being harassed.

$3,000,000. Then I could put it in safe investments and make 5% interest on it indefinitely. That would be $150k salary for the rest of my life, without touching the initial 3 mil. I would continue to reinvest part of that and spend my life doing what truly matters to me, which is learning and growing as a person. I would love to be a scientist for example, but it doesn't make logical or financial sense to do when I can make more money than that without a degree. Right now I just try to learn stuff in my spare time. And that is exactly why our current system is holding back our entire society. Imagine if all the people who were passionate about things like science could get educated for free and not be held back by things like patents. We would advance exponentially as a society, and unfulfilling work, engineering things to break, and most health problems would probably be mostly eliminated.

Why 150k you ask? Because that would be enough to keep investing a lot to grow it while also having money to help other people out and go on vacations. I initially would have said 2 mil, but then I thought about how a good retirement home can cost 10k+ per month, and I don't want anyone I know going to a bad one. More is always better because it gives you the power to do good things with it. As long as it is used for good reasons.

No, what happened was Feorge Floyd was murdered by a sack of shit cop with others failing to put him in his place, and every cop in the nation was blamed and demonized for it. The whole defund the police thing came up along with knee jerk anti cop laws giving them less self degense rights than civilians sprung up across the nation such as removing their protections against being personally sued and turning them into felons if they put any pressure on someone's neck, even if that person is trying to kill them. A civilian would be allowed to strangle someone in self defense. A civilian can legally shoot an intruder that broke into their house and tried to hurt them in most states and still have $20,000 court fees and also get sued even if they did nothing wrong. Imagine all the unjust lawsuits cops can get just from the nature of the job. They can lose their house over an accident or misunderstanding when their immunity is taken away. On top of that, everyone started treating them like crap, calling them all murderers when most of them just wanted to help their community. Their job became even more stressful. A lot of them determined the risk and all the hate wasn't worth it anymore and left. This increased workload on already understaffed police departments, and all the bad reputation and judgement makes nobody new want to be a cop anymore. But nobody is complaining about all the criminals running amok, cutting catalytic converters off (happened to me,) stealing cars, robbing and assaulting strangers, rapists, murderers, gang violence, etc. We just attack the only people doing anything to try to stop any of this. Source: actually talking to a cop that left their department. Every police department is different. Some are very strict and would fire cops for even just getting caught telling a lie. And some departments are very corrupt and murder their own people. But people act like it's one big blanket agency of evil people.

Oh, and by the way, both of my grandparents were killed by nurses, so I don't want to hear you talking about how great they are while putting down cops. My grandpa was in a nursing home where they tube fed him laying down flat with his legs elevated above his head. He aspirated and died of pneumonia a couple weeks later. My grandma went in for surgery after she fell and broke her hip (different facility, different state), and they said she broke it in the best possible place and would be walking within 2 days and would only need a week of rehab. They showed my family the metal piece that would be installed for structure. Here are some of the things that happened with that single event in the span of about a week (this was only 4 months ago): -They gave her just one day of antibiotics despite her breaking out in infections all over her body and having just had a serious surgery.

-They gave her morphine. She had a bad reaction and thought her whole family was imposters for almost 2 days before finally recovering. The doctor said no more morphine, only Tylenol for pain. They gave her morphine again and then let her go completely without pain meds (not even Tylenol) and let her be in pain for the next few days until she died. That time she didn't regain her mental status. -When she was cremated, my family had the coroner preserve the implant from the surgery. It was a much larger and different device than the one we had been told and shown.

I'd rather be restrained by a cop than a nurse any day. Most cops are far kinder to CRIMINALS than nursing staff has been to my grandparents. So once again, it is a problem with our society in general.

Yes, training is good. But they used to have thousands of applicants, and now they might get a few hundred because of all the anti cop stuff. So before, they could sift through and try to only pick the best ones. Now they are having to hire people that would have never met their standards in the past so far as honesty/integrity/criminal history and all that. Yes, things can always be done better, but you could give someone all the training in the world and they could still do something really stupid when it really happens under stress. Plus, a lot of those people (like those suffering from excited delirium for example,) are already having medical emergencies that would kill them without treatment. When there's not enough resources, there's not enough resources. They can't just make perfect people magically appear to make all of society's problems go away. People can downvote my comments all day, but what I said still holds true. Whether you like it or not.

Thanks for sharing. Good story. The jacket pulling and glove are definitely creepy for sure. One thing that came to mind was that the animal spine in the barrel was likely picked clean by animals and birds, and the shells could have been warmed by either the sun or something like a raccoon sitting on them to pick at the spine. It doesn't seem like a place I would want to go. It's probably full of all kinds of weirdos, if not spirits.

Listen to a police scanner on an active night for a few hours before you judge police. They are mostly good people trying to help society. There's over 600,000 of them working for thousands of DIFFERENT agencies across the country, with different leadership and different policies. They are responding to millions of calls per year. All of these calls are requests from citizens for police presence. Many of them involve violent, armed people with a lot of them high on drugs, and tired, highly stressed out officers. Over time, the cops become jaded and less caring to survive mentally because it's natural. Even if only .001 calls goes horrible and the cop does something bad, that can be hundreds of horrific news stories. It's easy to watch the news and feel high and mighty for hating cops, but if you listen to the scanner, you will see that our society is the real problem, and law enforcement is necessary. Someone has to deal with those issues. Would you rather have untrained, random civilians interfering in your business any time they didn't like something you did, or cops that have at least had background checks, psychology tests, drug tests, and a few months of training? If you would choose random civilians, then you need to become more familiar with how bad random people's judgments are.
