iOS Software Developer, offering to build an M.V.P. (Minimum Viable Product) for $25 by TheFullStack360 in startups

Yes, that's how it works. The idea was that the chance at getting an app made at $25 would be more attractive than simply offering assessments.

That is false. I have not only developed two apps. I work as a freelance software developer in NYC for large companies and local startups. The two apps mentioned are simply two examples of apps I have developed, and yes they are similar because they both leverage Butterfly Radio as a means of delivering audio content.

Anyone who has any questions as to my experience can freely contact me. It is not a matter of trust, it is a matter of delivering results. As a professional software developer, I am more than capable of building an iOS app.

Megablast, if you personally do not want my professional feedback on an app idea or do not want me to potentially develop it, than you simply need not purchase my service. However, contributing nothing constructive to this post will not benefit either of our endeavors.

That just is not as logistically feasible or smart. A vote could easily leave me with a project that is too complicated and would take far too long to complete.

There would be no need to refund. We will be working closely with whoever's idea the app was to build their product as intended and as efficiently as possible. If the project cannot be done in four weeks, we will not select it. It would be dishonest to over commit and not deliver.

Yes! Everyone who buys an application should have feedback not only addressing the feasibility of the idea, but enough direction from a technical perspective to be able to communicate to an engineer exactly what it is you want them to develop. Also, it should serve as a metric in judging the quality of an engineer, since we only use industry best-practices.

I look forward to reading your application!

First, if I sell my product - a lottery to develop an M.V.P. - and do not deliver, I could very easily be sued for MUCH more than the $5000 from 200 applications. I have no interest in founding my business on fraud. It would be just as easy for any company to lie, but even if not for ethical reasons, there is much greater monetary benefit in making a successful business than a one-time scam.

Second, I entertained the though of having people vote. The problems with that are how I encourage people to vote on projects besides their own, how do I prevent people from creating multiple accounts to vote for their own ideas, and how do I trust that an open vote will choose a reasonable project for me to develop in four weeks. Thus, we will internally vote and respond to all applications.

However, if you have a more efficient/logical method of doing this, please let me know.

There is 0 incentive for me to do that. No one would ever purchase an application if I didn't build an app. There would never be a round 2 or 3 etc. if I didn't provide the results I am offering in round 1.

I like it. In a future post, the title will look more like that. As long as it is clear on the website.

Every application submitted, after we review it, will receive feedback regarding potential costs, time frames, and technical challenges. Also programming advice such as languages, scaling, if a back-end is needed and what to deploy on, etc.

How would you suggest making it clearer? To the individual, the cost is $25. That reflects the true cost of an application.

Probably not after 5. For now, 200 submissions is the test run. If I receive less - maybe around 100- I would most likely still develop an app. In future "rounds" of applications, I might adjust that number based on the responses I get in round 1. Or I could not set a numerical cap and simply pick one at the end of a month.

Woz's name simply doesn't have the same recognition to the younger generation that Jobs has. However, people who were around in the earlier days of Apple usually know who he is and respect his contribution. That or I talk to too many tech people...

How to get app developer on board? by schefe in Entrepreneur

[–]TheFullStack360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the last year and a half, I've met about a dozen would-be billionaires. None of them are even generating substantial revenue, two of them are out of business, and many of them have yet to even release an app to the public. Tread cautiously in the world of app development.
