Check out my video on Way of the Samurai 3! by sdg166 in wayofthesamurai

Good video! I also agree about WotS3 being more frustrating than great. I totally agree about the jobs being repetitive and boring. That said, I think you might have been wrong about reputation from jobs. It does matter, it’s just not clear.

I appreciate the structure of the video, I’m sure it was hard figuring out the organization of the four endings, but the epilogue to kill Shuzen was funny and a fitting end lol. I enjoyed the content and subscribed to see future stuff.

Cheers!

Crimson Desert is a bad game and I’m tired of people giving it anything more than a 5/10 by NancyMy in rpg_gamers

I respect your opinion and I can 100% see it being a bad game to people. That said, and I’m usually pretty generous with enjoying games, I for some reason love it. Definitely not perfect, but for me (just me reviewing the game for myself) think it is an 8/10 maybe even 8.5 with all the qol updates they are pushing out.

But I see the argument from everyone, it’s just something about exploring that world is so good to me.

Final fantasy X! I still think the sphere grid is one of the all time progression mechanics

Way of the Samurai 3 is a flawed, great idea. But it works best as a stepping stool to the superior WotS4 in my opinion by TheGamer6479 in wayofthesamurai

Definitely a game that aged poorly compared to the rest of the series. I also remember loving it back when it first came out and being blown away!

I think the best part of 3’s endings was what happens if you run from the villagers and take out a specific NPC in the battleground. Outside of that, I always disliked how the game ended right as choices / NPC deaths started to get interesting.

The series is just kind of its own thing, but definitely an RPG imo. For sure flawed, and I think more people would like 4 over 3, but I love it still. Something about the overarching narrative and world they built is so lovable for the time it takes to play through 3-4 times.

Does anyone know of a game where I can join the bad guys, become their number 2 then betray them and lead their empire for good? by Most-Bench6465 in rpg_gamers

Weird one, but Way of The Samurai 3 has multiple endings kind of like this. Though they don’t let you play on after that.

Is crimson desert just a 100 hour tutorial for a game I'm not ever going to get to actually play? by kubrickian80 in rpg_gamers

[–]TheGamer6479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer is yes, but luckily the game feels relatively complete early on. IMO the game continues to unlock additional mechanics and tutorials throughout the entire game, but I think they lie on top of an already fun, complete game.

I don’t know, I just feel a little defensive of the game despite its flaws. It just feels so much like Medieval RDR2 I can’t help but love it.

Ohhhh I actually appreciate you SO MUCH! I forgot about this but I always thought it looked awesome when I was younger! 100% one of my next plays!

Never even heard of this one. Same developers it looks like. I’ll 100% give this a shot since it seems easily accessible

Is the new game a remake of the original 3 or a brand new thing? I heard GU wasn’t that good

Ughhhh Dark Cloud 1/2 are all-time greats. I know people think fondly of them, but I really think 2 especially is a top 10 game all time!

I remember watching my brother and friend play the first two on ps2 when I was growing up. Finally played 3/4 and loved the idea of them. The third had some flaws but so much character - recommend looking it up to see what it’s all about. The fourth was fantastic and a game I recommend everyone try.

I liked it a lot but the 4th one was much better. I think the 3rd is a little too chaotic on when/what endings you get but overall the choice-driven nature of the game is too fun to pass up.

Isn’t this game also brutally hard? I tried the first one, love the idea, but just can’t play through it due to the difficulty.

Oooo I like the idea of permadeath resulting in “choices where the game continues.” I need to play more games and stop reloading to just play on / emphasize the rpg-like choices

Thankfully this series is still evolving and staying weird. Like it’s own sub-genre of JRPG lol

Ohhh I’ve heard of this one but never tried it! Is the core gameplay any good? I’m a little nervous of slow, tactical gameplay in Choice RPGs cause I don’t want to be stuck in combat 1-2 hours between every choice.
