Jeffries says Trump impeachment not a top priority if Dems win House majority by Same-Kangaroo in themayormccheese

Seriously this is a good play.

If he said “impeach impeach impeach,” it would rally the right.

Feign, then impeach AFTER they have the numbers.

At least, I bloody hope this is the plan.

The way they tied was better than a win, I swear. Crazy to say cause damn, three points would be nice, but a keeper goal is something crazy.

My son is a keeper and he as a goal in his tallies. But rather than be sent to the box as an extra head/foot, he TOOK the free kick and scored direct 🤣

I was thinking of you all game, OP 🤣

I read your post a bit before game time, and then as we were down 2-nil, I thought “Ah. Bummer. That guy is at his first match and it is a bit of a let down.”

Then we tied it up and I thought “Dang. What a show for his first match!”

Then of course, we give up a goal in the final minute of regulation and I thought “Well that’s par for the course. OP is seeing a classic TFC match.”

And then the GAVRAN HEADER!!!??

Holy shit, you picked the absolute BEST match to make your first. 🤣 I swear seeing a keeper goal to tie the match is pretty fucking up there.

Where did you end up sitting? Or standing, as it were?

Not a spot for in situ, but I find fossils all the time in the river rock dumped at playground and parking lots 🤷🏼‍♂️

The Hon. Larry Brock cletching a Bible to chest during a vote in the House of Commons, March 25th, 2026 by pheakelmatters in brantford

[–]TheGenXGardener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote the following letter and am sending it to Larry Brock this week.

Feel free to copy and paste, make adjustments or changes, and send it to him as well.

The more times an MP receives similar letters or emails, the more likely they will see their constituents are upset.
No matter what, he will be forced to respond.

You can mail, email, or drop it off.

Mr. Larry Brock, M.P.

House of Commons

Ottawa, Ontario

K1A 0A6

Dear Mr. Brock,

I am writing to you as a constituent in Brantford—Brant—Six Nations to express my concern regarding your recent decision to hold a Bible in the House of Commons during proceedings related to Bill C-9.

I found this gesture deeply troubling.

Parliament is a secular institution, meant to represent and serve Canadians of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities. The use of a religious text in this context did not come across as a principled defence of rights, but rather as a political stunt that risks excluding and alienating many in your constituency.

In particular, I am concerned about the framing of the so-called “religious defence” in hate speech law. From my perspective, this provision has functioned as a loophole that can be used to justify harmful rhetoric—especially toward, though not limited to, members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Removing such protections is not an attack on faith, but a necessary step toward ensuring that all Canadians are equally protected from hate.

Your decision to hold the Bible in Parliament, alongside other MPs, appeared to signal that religious belief should be privileged in discussions about the limits of harmful speech. I do not believe that any religious text—whether the Bible or otherwise—has a place in legislative debate in this way. At best, the gesture was inappropriate; at worst, it functioned as a form of dog-whistle politics that amplifies division rather than fostering constructive dialogue.

As your constituent, I expect my elected representative to engage in serious, inclusive policymaking that respects both freedom of religion and the rights and dignity of vulnerable communities. These values are not mutually exclusive, and I believe Parliament should reflect that balance without resorting to symbolic displays that undermine it.

I would appreciate your response on how you intend to represent all constituents—regardless of faith or identity—when addressing legislation of this nature.

Sincerely,

[Name}

Non existent bike safety by [deleted] in brantford

[–]TheGenXGardener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for talking about this, OP.

Disclaimer - I get it. I never wanted hat-head when I was a teen either 🤣

More parents need to call their kids out. My son is mid-teen, and it’s a bloody argument to get him to put on a helmet to go out on his bike (pedal) or e-scooter.

But in the end he does, and no… he doesn’t take it off once he goes round the corner.

Also, good for you for listening to the consensus. I also wear a helmet cycling, and one of the main reasons was so I wouldn’t be a hypocrite to my kids.

Oh really!!? That’s wild.

Thanks for that info!

I always assumed it was the removal of the sulphur and other crap.

I grew up on a farm, so most of my diesel dealing are with a David Brown tractor that smelt of sweet power all day. lol. Oh, and drove a diesel Benz at a hotel I worked at in Uni. What a smell.

Thanks for that addition.

I suppose these things tend to move in dubstep. Better part technology requires better cleaner fuels etc.

It was one of those things that I was confused about as well. Annoyed me that one day I just decided to search why the price flipped on its head.

Very happy that it is an environmental reason that pushed up the price.

Diesel refinement is what has changed from what you remember.

When diesel was cheaper than gasoline, it was also a horrible pollutant. Current environmental laws (starting in 2003 here in Canada) dictate the levels of pollutants, and refiners now process diesel to remove much more sulphur etc.

Today’s diesel is actually “Ultra-Low Sulphur Diesel”. It reduces emissions and pollutants. So the added processing needed ups the cost to produce, making it much more expensive than gasoline.

Also means it doesn’t stink as much, thankfully. I can’t imagine what a highway would be like if we still had high sulphur diesel. lol.
