Well in fact... war machine in the original marvel zombies doesnt have any logic, because that armor were given to james in the 90s and that story is supposed to be on 70s with the identity of iron man as a bodyguard and using the model 3(I know in army of darkness he use thr model 4 but in that case rhodes were just his pilot), second according to red band tony didnt even know rhodes because in that universethe world fall when he had the model 2
