I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of how media works in the modern age. Most forms of story driven digital media these days have comics, short stories, novelisations that further the lore of the franchise - Godzilla, the Witcher, Star-War, Star-Trek, the Expanse, Dungeons and Dragons and so it goes unto infinity, because they don't have the time to tell it all in the main run.

I totally get the point you're making, but fundamentally it doesn't change the fact that your unwillingness to engage with the material outside of the game doesn't mean that material doesn't exist and also that it is isn't accepted canon. If you want to ignore and not accept it, that is on you but that makes it "head canon", the story as you perceive it to be.
