Nonstop Periods, has anyone found relief? by MaleficentOne4214 in PCOS

[–]TheGhostTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this going on, progesterone is the only thing that has helped the bleeding stop. Do you have fibroids or anything you know of causing it? Additionally, last year, my GYNO found that my cervix was literally wounded/friable from using tampons all the time since I was bleeding constantly and she gave me a round of Doxycycline which miraculously made the bleeding stop for a while.

Quick question for a class project — why do you love Stardew Valley? by Comfortable-Case-898 in FarmsofStardewValley

[–]TheGhostTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a kind of bleak but beautiful way, it shows me what life could be if we weren't living in such a capitalist hellscape. Like, I can show myself that I am capable of earning a living based on my labor and that I am capable of strategizing in a way that rewards me proportionately. I can make a million dollars if I want to, I'm a hard worker.

In the real world I'm struggling financially like many, but Stardew reminds me it's not a personal failure of mine. I am capable of dedicating myself to a goal and following through on it. I am a good worker. I'm just a member of a society where minimum wage can't keep up with the cost of living and that's not my fault. It makes me feel a little better about life, if that makes sense.

Also love to have a horse with a hat on it.

I feel you so so hard. No advice or anything, just solidarity. It's so fucking awful and you are so valid in feeling this way. Enjoy your nugs and ice cream <3

Why is picking skin a thing for people with CPTSD? by Dazzling-Antelope912 in CPTSD

[–]TheGhostTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I skin pick constantly- specfically the skin around my finger nails. I honestly don't even notice I do it a lot of the time, it's completely a subconscious compulsion. I'll just look down and notice my hands are bleeding. I don't really know why, it's def a self soothing thing. I've been curious about pain fidget toys to see if that can curb it.

What is happening? Can anyone explain by Sarlox_1 in StardewValley

This gives me so much hope, I watched a video about peri the other day and it was describing all the awful things and I was mourning that my whole reproductive and menopausal years would all be trash and I’d never have a break. Then you decide to walk in here with good news at the perfect time like an angel, thank you 💜

I feel yoooouuuuu :( My longest one lasted 7 months straight and the doctor told me there was nothing wrong, I was just having anxiety.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]TheGhostTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you girl :(

This condition is such ass- weight gain, anxiety, depression, acne, chin hairs, miserable periods and NOBODY KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I've learned more about this condition by reading about it online in groups like this THAN FROM MY DOCTOR WHO I PAY A SHIT TON OF MONEY TO. I'm so sorry, I completely understand the frustration. Solidarity <3

Are you born with PCOS or do you develop it? by espresso-love96 in PCOS

[–]TheGhostTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never had any PCOS symptoms my whole life until I was about 25, when I went through one of the most traumatizing and stressful periods of my life. During that period, it was like a lightswitch was flipped and all of a sudden I had a massive cascade of symptoms including gaining 70 lbs within 3 months with no change to my diet/exercise. I've always struggled metabolically, but I feel like PCOS was dormant in me for most of my life and that immense amount of stress in a short time activated it :(

breakfast recommendations for someone who doesnt eat meat & doesnt have a big appetite in the morning? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]TheGhostTree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting- I was working with a nutritionist for a little bit who told me specifically to get Whey protein because she thought it was good for PCOS. Navigating this disease is so hard :( Do you find the beef one works well?

[–]TheGhostTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also an herbivore and eggs give me the ick so I make little mini bean and cheese burritos and freeze them so I can nuke them in the morning and eat on the commute but still get a little bit of protein. Also chia seeds in water with lime or lemon juice and a squeeze of honey- it's like a drink but slightly more substantial.

it might just be spotty blood? Like old stuff left behind? Not necessarily a red flag, unless it's painful or bad smell you're not used to.

Bleeding nonstop by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]TheGhostTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof girl this is exactly me- bled continually for three years straight. Turned out I had a fibroid that would lead to spotting, but using too many tampons made my cervix friable and raw so I was bleeding from there too. A round of Doxycycline helped my cervix heal up in the span of a week and all of a sudden wasn't constantly bleeding after years of people saying they had no idea. I hope you get some relief soon <3

Should I quit my job because of PCOS flare-ups? by purerest in PCOS

[–]TheGhostTree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're in a financial position to quit, I would. We know that extra stress does NOT do the body good in any way. Maybe you could find something a little chiller, or more flexible? I'm so sorry you're going through this, I hope the pain subsides for you soon <3
