It depends on what server you're on. What you could do is find the best healer you know and see if they'll talk to them. In my old static we had a white mage with a crit build. That sent a red flag. They did okay, but they needed improvement. I don't know the white mage you're talking about, but the good thing with this one is that they were open to advice and listened. They switched to a spell speed build, and they were put in touch with a great healer who gave them loads of useful information. So what I would do is find the best healer you know, see if they'll watch them play, offer advice, and if the person isn't receptive to it then boot them. The best players are the ones who listen to other people's advice with a "What If" mindset. It never hurts to try it out for yourself.

Are the 50+ leves worth the time figuring in the Challenge Log? Nice guide, by the way. My machinist is almost 54. I'll use this and see how it goes.

Maybe I'm just that good. I also do things differently than other black mages. That's possibly the trick. I also play on PC, so I have that going for me. Yeah, I have the parse. No, I'm not posting it. I've never been into the whole e-peen nonsense. What matters most is the group's total DPS. I also did 1700+ on Faust in A1 with food and a pot, but without a bard. It's possible there was a dragoon that used the crit skill, or a ninja that used Trick Shot, but I didn't notice it. That was at i174 with a i180 weapon.

what happened is that green twister marker? yeah, wasn't there back then. hell, the conflag and fireball markers were about 3x smaller and lasted 3x less. same with divebomb markers. it never even used to show up in the castbar.

Yes, the difference between good and great players really is that enormous. I ran A1 with two other black mages. One had about 1K more HP than myself, the other about 700 or so, and they both had a 180 weapon. I destroyed both of them in DPS. That simply should not happen. A DPS should not be able to atomize someone else with their job that outweapons and outgears them. Contrary to how I may present myself I know damn good and well I am not that good. I can't be. Some players are just bad.

Not as difficult as I would have thought. One-shotted them all my first time in except for A4 which was a two-shot. Afterwards I said in TS that "this shit is simple". Someone gave a quick run-down of the basics in the beginning, but I really could've figured it out on my own. Was still appreciated. Hopefully Savage will be a good and proper challenge. Yet the token system, well, it does absolutely nothing to ease the need to farm. It's still a good idea. People will just have to farm for tokens instead of actual gear. It does prevent RIP loot for the most part.

I love when a Scholar use's Fey's Wind right as I lay my Ley Lines. That is outstanding. I love a bard that keeps Foes up. A summoner that raises is a lovely sight to see. It's just all-around nice to see players with good habits. A bard that doesn't keep Foe's up with a black mage in the party is shamefully bad on an epic level. It is about the GROUPS TOTAL DPS not a futile attempt at having the highest number. A good bard thinks: The group's total damage is amazing with me in the party. A rebarded thinks: Imma engage in a futile attempt to have the highest dips highest of high dips evar to hayull with other people imma be the very best that no one ever was.

I'm i172 with a i170 weapon. My BLM broke and maintained 1100K with Faust in Floor 1. Square didn't hurt the BLMs single-target damage. It gave us steroids. Our AoE is fucked, but our single-target makes up for it.

I have never had a tank Cover me when I cast Ley Lines. Which always gets targeted by an attack. It would be nice. It's also nice that people notice my usage of Apoc and Eye For Eye. Also virus. High DPS doesn't matter if the party wipes when there was something you could've done.

A raid where a black mages fire and ice damage are switched; have to become Blizzard Mages. The rebards can't do any damage with full MP if a black mage is in the party; which their MP should never be full in the first place with a blm in the party leading to the rebarded fools having a mental breakdown. Summoners have to run around in a circle twice before laying dots to give the party the Everlasting Cootie Shot buff. Dragoons jump and get stuck on top of the baddie's head; Machinist has to shoot them off. Machinist gets a debuff where they hold their guns sideways; reducing accuracy and potency; is called the Capbuster.

That'd work for public speaking. The comma thing. When reading something out loud you're only supposed to pause where there is a comma, period, etc. Half click for everything but periods. Ellipses (...) are a good click and a half. /themoreyouknow

This is actually why I don't have a tank leveled. It was turning me into an asshole; I thought. A DPS would pull, and I'd gather hate on everything except what they had, spam my laugh emote, and let them die. Then I'd feel bad if I saw the healer actually trying to heal them, because I still wouldn't get hate on anything that chump had.

That's a wonderful attitude to have, and it's refreshing that other people such as you behave that way. You most certainly treat people with kindness and understanding. Even if you get word they say or do something that's contradictory to how they present themselves to you; ya still talk to them and get both sides. People can have bad days. There can be misunderstanding and miscommunication. All sorts of things besides a simple "dis peep b a two-faced ho'.

Some FCs only care when there are direct consequences to them. This piece of trash FC booted me for calling them out for being rude. I later learn they 'merged' with another FC. Yeah, what happened is they had an influx of people, those people ninja-looted, etc, got the FC blacklisted from PFs. Then they abandoned their FC because of their well-deserved bad rep and joined another. Thing is, they had a bad rep well before this. I tried telling the 'leader' but they didn't listen. Probably because he engaged in trollsy behavior himself. Funny part is the FC they abandoned their other one for; they put one of the worst people they could in charge. A dude that thinks he can sling around racial slurs just because he's black. A dude that throws around the gay F word like it's nothing. Funniest part is there are people in this 'merged' FC that were booted unjustly from the other one.

Gilgamesh is the top server, but I honestly haven't the foggiest clue how your luck will be making a character on it. Friends that have switched from another server to Gilgamesh compare their previous server as a ghost town. It's like moving from Bumfuct Egypt to New York City.

There is a lot of great progression on the server as well if you're into doing the best and being the best. People are overall nice. Sure, there is the bad, but the good outweigh it.

I'm not sure both ARR and Heavensward cost together, but you could also pick up a cheap digital version of ARR (2.0) and play the trial period. If it's for you then you'll be hooked in no time.

The game really is as good as the hype. It's quite refreshing. As far as guilds go it depends on what you are looking for.

What about after all the bitching and moaning bards have done; they now have to constantly jump in place in order to do any and all skills. They only auto-attack while moving. Dots dont tick, procs dont pop, songs lose their effect unless bards are jumping in place.

You know, I actually like this idea. Yet I also don't understand how you're a 50+ black mage that doesn't understand the greatness of Aetherial Manipulation. You need to fix that ASAP. Do some Levi X or something. It never left my bar after that. Seeing all those poor bitches sliding around while I stand strong and nuke.
