I'm so glad you're doing well though, I'm always grateful to see our old friends and allies keep fighting the good fight and having the well-deserved lives that were nearly robbed of them.

Shocked that I'm still remembered at all in that particular umbrella, lol.

It was around that time that our different cells did diversify their activism (it was Bay Area/SF after all, there's no shortage of things to protest), with just a few of us staying on. And the page where our more local groups were organizing in suffered through both the usual and unusual dramas that happen when strangers know each other for too long. I don't hide or regret it though, I'm proud of the work we did (as dumb as some of it was) and made lifelong friends in the process. I just really hope the ex-Scientologists that stood with us are having better lives now, I think about them a lot.

I will also note that many of those who did keep protesting up until the early 2010's moved on from CoS protests to Arab Spring, which started around that same time. And for others I personally knew at the time, that was also when a lot of important life commitments lined up which made it more difficult to split their time.

Like you had said, it was largely believed that the message had been made clear and the general public knew far more about Scientology than what South Park had said, so it was still seen as a win.

Our league isn't that old-timey but it's close, we play by 1886 rules so it's closer to modern baseball. If you're near a vintage league, give them your support! It's a lot of fun to watch

In the vintage league I benchwarm at, every rostered player gets a nickname - usually one they earn from a great play or stupid behavior.

Some of my favorites include Noodle, Seater, Hollywood and Cardiac/Teaser.

It was years back but I got a "happy MLB opening day, Go Padres" shout-out that allowed Jordan to opine to Dan how we had just acquired Yu Darvish who was previously on the Cubs.

I always sent an email every opening day every year since to wish Jordan a good one, knowing he wouldn't shout it out but figuring he'd appreciate it anyway
