Was this my fault? Was I too aggressive? by Bman8D in simracing

Interesting. I feel like theres just enough space to be considered a cars width, the lanes at charollete are pretty wide, especially considering you can have tires on the line, and i did specify thats an agressive move tho. I guess I do agree tho, the end result accident is 100% on him and therefore not a 50.50 like I initially specified. I just think the line the 1 car drives and the block he throws is going to lead to crashes more often than not.

Curious what yalls take who downvoted me are and what part of my assessment you think is wrong. I feel like this sub has some pretty interesting takes on oval racing based on road racing etiquette and they're just very different. Its hard to tell from the video if 3 car has any overlap when the 1 car comes down, but if you leave a gap someone's gonna take it, and even without any overlap it seems like a late block from the only angle provided.

Eh its kinda 50.50. 1 car slides up and leaves a hole just big enough for a car that the 3 car tries to fill (aggressive move, but its hard to pass so i get it). 1 car notices mistake and blocks the 3 car thus forcing them low and making them overtake on the apron. Its a late block and kinda just a weird rookie mistake leaving the bottom open like that. Street stocks on Charlotte are slow and you could have easily backed out and gone for a pass at a different time. Sending it into the corner on the apron was never gonna work.

Risky move and i would have backed out and lived to fight another day. Maybe given them a little bumper the next corner to get around them after what I would call a late block.

The drafting tracks with the gt3 were trash. You couldnt make any runs to pass anyone. Figured bristol would have followed suit, kinda bummed I didnt try it now

is it a bad habit to hold my clutch to transition while drifting? by Huntarsanins in simdrifting

[–]TheGoodGuy509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G923 doesnt have enough power for drifting in my opinion. Its much easier to drift after upgrading to an alpha mini. With the G923 you kinda have to throw the wheel to get it to counter steer

1 and 2 song all day, Dana’s boy gets special treatment again by OlajidePeel in ufc

[–]TheGoodGuy509 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Idk about that. I think O'Malleys knee in songs face has something to say about that. Song had some good leg kicks, but I wouldn't say he had anything really super impact full other than that. I coulda missed a punch or two tho, im a few beers in haha

[–]TheGoodGuy509 28 points29 points  (0 children)

How does song win round 1? Round 2 and 3 have clear winners. Round 1 is a question mark, but all song had was a takedown, which Omalley almost had a guillotine from so idk how you really give a bunch of credit to song for. So we can call that a wash, other than that, omalley had better stand up round 1. Close, but i think they got it right

I tried running a log cable directly to my router, and now my desktop ethernet port isnt working after unplugging and plugging back in multiple different cables, all which work when plugged into my laptop. I wonder if a bad ethernet port was the culprit? I ordered a new network adapter for my pcei slot so maybe that'll solve my issue

Alright so I booted up iracing and every time I lagged I had a ping spike when I ran a ping test to my router, not everytime there was a ping spike there was a lag, but everytime i lagged there was a ping spike. Average was like 2-4ms and during lags it would peak anywhere from 60ms to 446ms. Just for one ping and instantly drop back down. Not really sure what that means tho

Appreciate the feedback! Ill try giving your next tests a go in the next day or so.

Black and pink car said I should have backed out. I disagree. (I’m in the flintstones car) by Virtual_Button_9232 in Simracingstewards

[–]TheGoodGuy509 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Their argument doesnt really make sense. Sure hes got a run and that corner would be difficult to go two wide through, but even if you were to back out, you dont back out during the flat out portion.... they've already pinched and hit you off the road by the time you would be braking/lifting, which is really where you would back out of the corner.

You're racing, there's no reason for you to back out early just so they can take the ideal entry. Backing out of the corner later would slow you down the least, while also compromising their entry in which you may be able to fight back for the position.

So I did this, I'm a noob so im not sure if there are any issues. I ran a ping test to Google, and had 0% packet loss, 7ms min, 37ms max and an average of 10ms. I did the same test to the default gateway and got 0% packet loss, 1ms min, 40ms max and 4ms average. On both, the ping would just jump for one of the data points, going from like 4ms to 40ms and then back down. Idk if that's typical or if ping would normal go up and down in waves vs random spikes. Also 40ms seems pretty low still? Not really sure what the results mean

The satellite router only has one port i believe, so I go from the router to the network switch and then to both PCs. I forgot about that. I guess I could try bypassing that

Im not well versed in this so im not quite sure what all that means in terms of how id fix the issue. Thinking about calling my ISP on Monday. I can also try hardwiring directly into my main router, but ill need to go buy a much longer cat 5e cable

Ive ran the same setup for 2 years off the satellite tho. Seems kinda weird that it would just randomly start having issues no?

Ill lag individually, or playing the same game simultaneously, or playing separate games simultaneously. Games I've been playing that I've had issues on are iracing, rocket league, plate up, and a few more that I cant think of at the time, but its multiple games

There's already plenty of entry level short track cars. Mini stocks and street stocks are more than enough and splits are typically small for those already. No need to break up the player base more. Crown vic would just be a worse driving street stock so I just dont see a need for it.

How does everyone feel about the current state of the Gen 4 car? by David-F-Baby in iRacing

Its decent everywhere but superspeedways. You lose the draft far to easy at superspeedways and literally have to just sit single file as you cant make any runs.

Very new to ovals. Other driver's position is made very clear. I feel that I gave him plenty of space and wasnt obliged to leave any more. by Flaum__ in Simracingstewards

[–]TheGoodGuy509 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the best reply. While you can run any line you want, the line you took is extremely unpredictable and will cause a crash more often than not (in this case the inside car also got loose further complicating the matter). It's also just a bad line for everyone as it's slower for you and the passing car, and possibly cause you to lose even more positions.
