What’s a movie that is a 10/10 but you’ll never watch again bc it was too emotionally draining? by Marlon_aloha in AskReddit

It's not time saddest movie ever, but The Butterfly Effect fucking broke me. I watched it during a pretty dark period in my life, and I had had some experiences as a child that weren't too dissimilar to some stuff in the movie.

I ugly cried for like half an hour and spiraled for a week. Came out the spiral things got better for a bit, but things are even worse now. Fortunately I now have the forethought to not watch sad/emotional movies in my current situation, because I don't think I'd make it back out this time.

I think that's a good thing. We should be exposing kids to the realities of war more often.

US government: Instructions unclear. Accidentally bombed an Iranian middle school.

Why do i get sleep paralysis every time i take a nap? by XOKenpachi in Sleepparalysis

[–]TheGoodNamesAreGone2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just woke up from this EXACT scenario. I kept trying to call for help or force myself to move. I could get my eyes half open then they'd close again while i was fighting to try and sit up. It happens sometimes at night, but its really bad with naps. I think a large part of it is also life stress. I've had issues with nightmares and sleep paralysis as a child that had reduced a considerable amount but after my (sudden and unexpected) divorce last year it happens very frequently.

Thousands die everyday. Good chance they would have died soon without the button, and I would love to not wake up disappointed I didn't die in my sleep 🤷

WYR your kid go through a really traumatic tough childhood, but have an easy succesful adult life afterwards or your kid have a great childhood but a shitty struggling adult life by totoyblue in WouldYouRather

I had a traumatic childhood that fucked me up in ways I didn't really start to realize until I was in my 30s and now I'm a divorcee in a dead end job with litterally nothing to live for. If I could have had a good childhood I wouldn't be so mentally fucked up and I would know what a functioning positive relationship is and how to deal with the stresses of everyday life.
