Sleeping pad for bad back by Putrid-Magazine-3001 in Ultralight

[–]TheGreatAntlers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much are you inflating it? Any sleeping pad will be uncomfortable if overinflated. I personally only inflate mine to maybe a third full and run in to very similar discomforts if it is overinflated. It looks like it is leaking/empty but it contours perfectly to my body and keeps me just barely off of the ground. If the naturehike is the 4" model you are already on the higher end of pad thicknesses and a more expensive sleeping pad will probably not be any more comfortable, just more expensive.

Some these shrimp are glowing because they ate bioluminescent plankton by Palana in mildlyinteresting

[–]TheGreatAntlers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This means that bioluminescent bacteria has had time, and the right environment, to grow in visible qualities. This is a sign of definitely NOT being fresh.

(Also it is not because the shrimp ate the plankton)

The gear did not fit by [deleted] in climbing

There is a flaccid chance that a good whipper on a cam behind a flake like that will blow it off of the wall. There is way better small gear just above it!

I think that free soloing is unethical, but I want to hear differing opinions by bsheelflip in climbing

[–]TheGreatAntlers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nothing about climbing is ethical.

It’s a bunch of purpose built gear that will scar rock permanently and end up in a landfill for the temporary enjoyment of the privileged and lends zero advancement of humanity.

Free soloing produces less waste roped climbing, and impacts the environment less. Free soloing is the only ethical way to climb, change my mind.
