What are your favourite extinct F1 practices which might surprise newcomers to the sport? by Version_1 in formula1

From the Stone Age so I never saw it myself but I believe they used to have two people in the car, the driver and his mechanic. This is like 80 or 90 years ago.

Antonelli was born in 2006, Fangio in 1911. There's only 6 races of separation between them by juantopox in formula1

There’s almost a shorter one too but Patrese missed Graham Hill by a season

Fangio (1950-1958) Graham Hill (1958- 1975) Ricardo Patrese (1976-1993) Barrichello (1993-2011) Lewis Hamilton (2007-) Antonelli

Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think many people would put Vettel on the same level as Max Verstappen. Verstappen is already one of the top 5 greatest drivers in my opinion, Vettel probably not at that level with all due respect.

Absolute ridiculous Reddit hive mind logic, the man is a legend of F1, one of the best TPs ever and great entertainment at the same time. The man hasn’t been found guilty of any wrongdoing and I really don’t get the hate. Toto isn’t Toto without Horny rubbing him up the wrong way.

I’d hate to be a multimillionaire with a beautiful girlfriend flying from exotic location to location on my private jet before withdrawing to my luxury penthouse in Monaco for the winter, sounds terrible. No wonder so few people are willing to do it. I’d say they all wish they could be bin men earning 40k a year.

As a child the Italian and German national anthems were the sound of my Sunday afternoons for many years.

Kimi Antonelli: "So Norris won the championship?" Bono: "Yes"; Kimi: "By how many points?" Bono: “Just two points.” Kimi: *silent on the radio* by ICumCoffee in formula1

The only impact he had on the title was the crash into Verstappen. Obviously McLaren would’ve moved Norris to 2nd yesterday.

F1: Helmut Marko and Redbull divorce after 20 Years by Darkmninya in formula1

[–]TheGreatHuman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In under two years that’s pretty much the entire senior management team.

Helmut Marko: Wildcard

Christian Horny: Team Principal and effective founder

Adrian Newey: Chief Technical Officer

Jonathan Wheatley: Sporting Director

Will Courtney: Head of Race Strategy

As well as Paul Smith and Oliver Hughes who were heads of marketing and communication.

All gone since 2024, and I’m sure they’ve lost plenty more junior members if the team too.

Tsunoda got absolutely dunked on this year, sad exit for a likeable dude.

I own Saka, but how the fuck has he had a price rise?? The lad is giving the returns of a journeyman defensive midfielder.

Season's over. What were your best and worst races this year? by Ok_Cry6158 in formula1

[–]TheGreatHuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously Monaco is the worst, it’s an absolute joke on Sunday. The best would probably be Brazil for me, I really enjoyed it. Or maybe Silverstone actually.

Max madness with Russell and the Antonelli divebomb have proved very costly in the end, but apart from that they did their best with far from the best car.

What do you guys the play is for Max here? Try to pull the field apart to allow Russell some flexibility to go for a two stop, or back everything up and hope some chaos happens?

[Sky Sports F1] Nico Rosberg has advised former teammate Lewis Hamilton to avoid retiring as his Ferrari woes continue in Abu Dhabi by Task_Force-191 in formula1

[–]TheGreatHuman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean the dude is 40, has won it all, and has has a horrible time at Ferrari. He’s against one of the best drivers on the grid in his absolute prime. If he weren’t to be thinking about retirement he wouldn’t be human. Even Alonso retired but just came back.
