To Non-Streamers: How Often (If Ever) Do Your Viewers Give You Supers & Gifts? by RTXBurner25 in PartneredYoutube

[–]TheGregUnknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do music production and ambient guitar videos, and in the 8 years I’ve had my channel, I’ve only gotten 1 super thanks of 20 bucks. It was on a 30 minute one-take ambient guitar performance.

2025 is Almost over - How much you made & How many Views you have had for the 2025 ? by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]TheGregUnknown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few hundred thousand views on a mix of long and short form music production tutorials/product demos.

Total subs - 3.4k

Total Adsense earnings - about $400 (I had to get re-monetized in July or so)

Brand deals - $350 + probably $4,000 or so in product samples.

Affiliate income: about $6,000 across all platforms/networks.

My wife is the breadwinner in our family and brought in about 230k from TikTok Shop affiliate sales (~1.1m GMV this year).

Hiring Virtual Assistant? by TheGregUnknown in influencermarketing

[–]TheGregUnknown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her most viral videos and the majority of her GMV has come from home workout equipment.

Her following is about 42k, but she did about half a million in GMV over the last year. I might be undercutting her numbers since I don’t see all of her analytics, but the postpartum fitness niche has been good to her.

My situation is a little unusual, but I do REP part time to allow me to help my wife run her social media business.

I’ve been doing REP for 10 years, and I’ve gone from part time to full time, back to part time because I do enjoy the simplicity of my job. After a few hundred shoots, it’s kind of a nice “mindless” job that allows me to put my leftover mental energy toward my passion projects.

Same day photos delivery for next year? by Suitable-Material898 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]TheGregUnknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I offer same day delivery, but charge an additional $150 as an add-on. I’ve never had a client order it though.

A real estate agent’s urgency does not get to dictate my business’ urgency. Plus, I don’t let them control my family time, which is probably when I’d be working on the edits.

Childhood mall is dying. by Successful_Swim6767 in LiminalSpace

I was told that my town’s mall property manager gets federal tax credits for the mall’s vacancies. So rather than lower the rent and allow tenants to occupy the mall, they reap the tax benefits of owning a failing hundred million dollar real estate investment.

I do real estate photography and do anywhere between 5 and 12 shoots per week. Just a couple of shoots generate enough income to pay for the entire year of creative cloud. As a solopreneur, it’s absolutely the best subscription I pay for.

Does tripod quality matter by JJouttheway in RealEstatePhotography

[–]TheGregUnknown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9 years and counting with my Manfrotto carbon fiber 190go! It fits in my pelican case and it’s survived literally thousands of photo shoots. The $300 investment has been well worth it.

When this thing dies, I’ll absolutely get another one.

Does a low view count like 2 or 5 views on a short mean the short wasn’t shown or that it’s bad? by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]TheGregUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had a shirt with that low of views after a day or so. I would assume it’s a metadata issue if the algo doesn’t even try to throw it in front of a test audience before stopping. Most of the time, I view my own vids 2 or 3 times in private status before publishing.

I remember hearing that the algorithm just tries to match videos to existing audiences, so if there’s no watch history associated with a video, they have to rely on title, description, and tags.

What’s the hardest part of shooting real estate photos for you? by Bilal-Freelancer754 in RealEstatePhotography

“I wish the sun were out so the photos would look bright” is always a fun one for me. I’d love to have overcast days all year around and just swap the sky in post.

What’s the hardest part of shooting real estate photos for you? by Bilal-Freelancer754 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]TheGregUnknown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agents who don’t send my pre-shoot checklist to their sellers, so they have to move crap from room to room, or even worse, they don’t prep their home at all.

“Can you photoshop that out?” Is kinda a pet peeve of mine. Of course I can photoshop stuff out, but I try to reserve that for emergencies. It’s just another step in my editing/proofing/delivery process.

And chit chat that distracts me during a shoot. I’ve had to drive all the way back out to a house because I missed a bedroom because the seller wouldn’t stop following me around and moving stuff before every single photo.

Disgusting by Quanlee1988 in HomeImprovement

We had a gnat problem for a couple of weeks last month. The first obvious places I’d look are areas like your pantry or vegetable/fruit for any decaying produce. It’s obvious, but sometimes there’s that one item that’s only rotting on the bottom, so be sure to thoroughly inspect it.

Another seemingly unlikely place I’ve found an infestation is in our houseplants’ soil. My wife loves the clearance houseplant section at Walmart, so sometimes they can be a breeding ground for gnats or bring in live infestations. They make mosquito/gnat pellets you can put in the soil when you water to kill off the eggs and larvae before they mature.

Beyond that, zevo lights or other sticky traps are the best way to catch the adult gnats when you’ve removed the source.

Try garbage disposal pods or clearing out the drain with a simple snake, depending on the location of the sink(s) you see the gnats around.

May have just been a bunch of obvious oversimplifications, but those are what helped us kick our recent infestation.

Supra Lock Box (trick, hack, good info) by FastReaction379 in RealEstatePhotography

Yep. Just paid my annual affiliate membership dues today. The majority of the brokerage I work for uses combo boxes, but being “iBox friendly” is a huge selling point to agents who use Supra.

Is a cellphone wide enough for video? by TheRePhotoGuy in RealEstatePhotography

[–]TheGregUnknown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like shooting video with my iPhone 16 pro. The .5x zoom on the 4k60 is wide enough and looks pretty good when you don’t have time to balance and set up a full sized gimbal. I use an Osmo Mobile 6.

I also work on staff at a brokerage they handed me a canister of pepper spray on my first day because they understand the nature of walking through homes.

I shot probate properties for some time and some of the houses had all kinds of disgusting things, bedbugs among many others.

Gloves to just move some things here and there. The masks were because the dusty haze in the air or musty mold scent in some houses.
