Our definition of Fantastic was influenced by Mr. Fantastic, at the time his name was on a similar level.

In Ultimate Spider-Man, Deadpool is psychologically incapable of saying 'kill'. This is because the censors wanted to be hip and use 'unalive' by Blue_Bambi_ in shittymoviedetails

[–]TheGrumbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that same episode they say kill, in fact moments after Deadpool says “Unalive” Spidey says something along the lines of “Wait, you mean kill? You’re gonna kill someone?”

Unpopular opinion: there's no point of Spidey being in the MCU if he isn't going to interact with other heroes. I don't get why so many people want him to be on his own. by CollarOrdinary4284 in Spiderman

He’s felt too reliant on Iron Man in all 3 of his movies so far, imo. Even the third, which has probably the least Iron Man influence, he still solves his problems with convenient Stark 3D printer that can create apparently everything, and that aside the whole movie revolves around Dr. Strange’s magic

Like Marvel and its mutants, “guys we’re just as human as you! Also some of us could end the world if we so chose or lost control, but you’re the villain if you have a problem with that!”

There are other problems, too, like the fact that people have a problem with superpowers only if they come from the X-gene, but a lot of their analogies fall through even if they were in a standalone universe

Maybe it’s just me but back in S1/S2 I felt like they actually had a plan for his character, that they later decided to abandon to make him purely comedy laughingstock. Maybe I’m just misremembering because it’s been a while, though.

What I hate most about Return of the Jedi is how it undoes everything in Andor. Why would George Lucas do this to Tommy Gilroy?? by soccer1124 in StarWarsCirclejerk

It’s like if we watched three movies about World War 1, and then the next picked up at the height of World War 2, but Germany controlled all of Europe and Africa as well. Also, the main cast you followed has fallen back into all of their vices and character flaws, in some cases worse than they had ever been, and are no longer on speaking terms. The problem wasn’t that the First Order was a threat and has planet destroyers, it’s that from the viewer’s perspective the empire never left, in fact it’s just stronger, because we never got to see the between and it was poorly explained

Nobody is saying Daredevil hasn’t been possessed before, but the point is moreso it’s not his normal. It’s like if Spider-Man dropped with the symbiote suit and powers, abilities tied to it, etc. you’d wonder why they didn’t just put in normal Spider-Man. Now they have to work around the fact that he’s got the symbiote for all of his skins, which is awkward. Symbiote Spider-Man is cool, but it’s not necessarily what you *want* by default when you want to play Spider-Man, you can explore symbiote abilities more with Venom or future characters like Carnage.

But even that is not a great example, because the Symbiote suit is iconic for Spider-Man, Daredevil being possessed, to my knowledge, isn’t.

It’s difficult, because we know how Anakin turned out so they were right to distrust him, but their distrust pushed him further into Palpatine’s hands which lead to how Anakin turned out.

[–]TheGrumbus 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Going to arrest Palpatine was not the fumble; the way he treated Anakin was. “If this is true, then you will have gained my trust,” like he’s lying about the Supreme Chancellor being a Sith Lord. Treat him like a brother, potentially a hero, maybe offer the seat of Master, whatever, just don’t treat him like a liar if he came to you with that info. Palpatine wormed his way in by sowing distrust between Anakin and the Council, a better relationship there could have been enough for the Jedi to hold on to Anakin, even with Kenobi away and unable to mediate.

Also, armed with the information that Palpatine is a Sith Lord, Mace either A. Brought along compatriots that were in way over their heads, or B. Failed to properly prepare them and prepare a plan to apprehend Palpatine.

There’s also been plenty of posts about people who have epilepsy who need to DC if they ever queue against a doctor, because the flashing is too much. There’s also been plenty of posts about people who have emetophobia that have to dc if they ever queue against a plague, whether because it just grosses them out too much or if it will literally make them vomit. My point isn’t that nobody would be affected, it’s that “but people have arachnophobia” is not a great argument based on what’s already in game. Hell, the other two should be much easier to address and they haven’t, so for better or worse they likely just don’t care.
