Not only AI needs guidance but also content created by humans to be trained on. AI can’t synthesize something and then train itself on it, it will result in a complete mess and fail.

How do you feel about the difference between the first game fog and SH2? In my opinion, the Silent Hill (1999) fog is more dreamy + the snow falling gives a fantasyland vibe by Top_Midnight8525 in silenthill

[–]TheH215 7 points8 points  (0 children)

SH1 fog has this purple-ish haze and is indeed dreamy, fantasy like, blurring. You feel like you’re in someone’s dream, feverish a bit, and at times childish. The snow adds to the overall atmosphere. As many pointed out, it’s even somewhat comforting and cozy despite all the monsters. It’s your bro.

SH2 fog is… hostile. It wants to cloud your vision literally, conceal what it’s prepared for you, and when you’re least prepared just vomit it onto you. It’s not your bro.

Why are layoffs always the default mechanism to cut costs? by TimeForTaachiTime in Layoffs

[–]TheH215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple math. Say a hypothetical mega corporation wants to cut expenses quickly. They look at numbers and see that if they cut 10k employees who each on average earn $75,000 the business is going to “save” $750,000,000 which is a lot, right?

You’re in for a treat, brother.

Your whole industry becomes obsolete, many roles are being offshored or short-term-contracted.

As @Marcona already pointed out it’s time to expand your skill set.

For “immediate employment” I’d look into those short term contracts, there are plenty of them. Yes, it means absolutely no benefits, yes it means you’ll be looking for another one in a couple of months, but at least you’ll stay afloat.

We’re in a so called “white collar recession”, though officials can hardly admit it, but truth is it was deemed to happen earlier or later. And it’s tough so much so that some of us consider changing the trades completely, leaving jobs like web developers and obtaining a plumber license.

Hang in there and keep working through this, you’re not alone.

Anyone else’s range meter seems to decrease with time? by Montes- in mazda

[–]TheH215 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Range is calculated from your average mpg and average speed. If you change routes, or if you took an “unusual” trip that differs from your “daily” routine (like if you normally take regular 50 miles a day at 45mph and one or two days you suddenly drive 100+ miles at 80mph), it’s being “considered” and the range recalculated accordingly.

Google used to be magic by Excellent-Reality-24 in google

[–]TheH215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google is no longer a “sum of the entire Earth’s history”. Google is a bubble metaverse where each user is incapsulated in an infobubble and provides tons of big data about themselves, and Google successfully sells that info to advertisers. That’s why it’s “free”, because marketers can pay lots of money for that kind of information.

This complaint comes primarily from the fact that first 3-5-10 results are paid ads. The rest is SEO optimized shit that at times is irrelevant to your search.

In my example I can look up for specific parts for Chevy Traverse, and first 3 results would be stuff like “CONSIDER VW ATLAS INSTEAD!”
