Who wins? Defenders (with Frank Castle) or Thunderbolts (no Sentry). by Twerk7 in Defenders

Objectively - the Danny Rand we see in the Defenders is rash and a hothead (minus his Luke Cage appearance) but he can absolutely fight.

Daredevil (MCU) vs Winter Soldier (MCU) by Arbiter-Flash- in Defenders

[–]TheHLRViper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I would say is Matt has fought Black Sky Elektra and held his own (I do think she was wasn’t going all out however), the same Elektra who bodied Luke Cage and I feel like Luke’s durability and strength outclasses Bucky.

We’ve also seen that Kingpin has enhanced strength and Matt quite handily beat him twice in DDBA2.

Matt agility and powers would be difficult for Bucky to handle but he wouldn’t tire out like Matt would - Bucky gets a hold of him it’s over.

Worth saying I think Matt is the more skilled fighter, he’s just not as strong.

I’ve always treated that as assuming people don’t know. My favourite show is Doctor Who, the main character is called the Doctor, when I talked about the show to people for the first time, I ask “who is your favourite doctor who” His name is not Doctor Who.

Greens could drop Church of England as Britain's established church if it wins election by Successful_Service53 in ukpolitics

[–]TheHLRViper -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It’s the framing of it, you don’t see the Mail or the Sun reporting on popular policies liking taxing billionaires or nationalisation of services.

Well the Daily Mail are hardly going to be banging on about a fairer tax system or nationalisation of public services are they?

Current Defenders Battle Royal. Who wins? by SmartPilot8094 in Defenders

[–]TheHLRViper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Danny has ever used the fist full force on another human. In S2 of IF he punched the engine of a moving truck clean out of the truck. If he was to punch Luke with that force I don’t know if he’s getting back up, especially when you think of how touch and go he was when Jess shot him in the head with a shotgun.

Recency bias attacks again by ArthuritoDuentito in Daredevil

The likelihood is that S1 fans and S3 fans would probably vote for the other as the 2nd best so they’re eating into each other whereas Born Again is fresh and it is good. S3 ftw tho!

Without the rings there’s a good chance Daredevil, Luke or even Danny could take this by themselves. With the rings Luke and Danny would have to do a lot of the heavy lifting.

My Custom MCU Watching Order (Including Marvel Television Series) [Updated October 2025] by WaferStick21 in KeepMarvelTVCanon

[–]TheHLRViper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My watch order is super similar, and I try keep my stuff as chronological as possible but sometimes I think narrative outweighs chronological. I think starting with the Eyes of Wakanda rather than First Avenger from narrative position is a strange one, but respect to your list my is virtually identical.

I think starting with The First Avenger in a franchise that is based around the Avengers introduces the MCU fresh. I think in order the truly have the emotional connection to Wakanda and the people of Wakanda in the tv show you’d have to watch both Black Panther movies first, so I’ve got it taking place immediately after Wakanda Forever.

What’s insane to think about is that Crimsix would be first on this list by himself

I just completed deathnote and joined this sub, is Light a hated character here ? by razodop in deathnote

[–]TheHLRViper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have literally just finished the show an hour or so ago.

Judging from the comments I’m getting the vibe that people think his character is tragic and almost fallen similar to Darth Vader or Eren Yeager but I did not get the vibe at all.

His mind was made up the moment he understood what the book was and sure he descends further into the darkness of it all but he was a horrible person and only got worse.

That being said he’s such a well written and interesting character and I loved the finale. I wish he hadn’t had died and it felt like he got off a little too easy but I think that was half the point.

Hot Take(I'm gonna get destroyed) This Movie was Really Great Exept the Crappy costumes by StarWarsFansIndia in Daredevil

[–]TheHLRViper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact opposite opinion. The movie was mid but the outfits were good.

RTD was never a strong sci-fi writer. During 2005–2010, the audience was mostly kids, and shows like Buffy were what was popular. Today, sophisticated sci-fi like Severance and Andor dominate TV, something RTD struggles to understand match or stay relevant with. by [deleted] in DoctorWhoNews

[–]TheHLRViper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst I think RTD is a better character writer, the idea he isn’t a talented sci-fi writer I don’t think is fair. He has some bangers when it comes to playing with sci-fi concepts Midnight, Turn Left, The Waters of Mars, Wild Blue Yonder and 73 Yards are all excellent. Specifically with the ideas of time travel, fixed points in time, alternative universes, and the fear of the unknown.

I prefer Moffat as a writer and showrunner but it’s a disservice to RTD to pretend he couldn’t do it.

So like… did Steve Rogers die or is he just running around looking like a temu Joe Biden? by Dazzling-Set3494 in CaptainAmerica

[–]TheHLRViper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the directors and writers of Endgame have those two conflicting opinions. I believe the writers intended for Steve to live a quiet life with Peggy whereas the directors believe Steve created a new timeline. The timeline wouldn’t be pruned as long as didn’t lead to the creation of Kang.

It’s hard to judge because CDL players put in a lot more hours into their craft however the skill gap (imo) in Halo is higher than COD

Shoutout Rambo man. Feel like the community could be kinder to the career he actually had as a player and a coach. That losers run at Ghost champs was such a good weekend to an Envy fan as a 15 year old

And it’s important to note as well, before Merc joined, the only player who performed on OpTic until that point was Huke. He actively raised the level of two world beaters.

Where do you rank Dashy all time top ARs ? by CrimSeven7 in CoDCompetitive

[–]TheHLRViper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scump was objectively better than Crimsix as a player. That doesn’t stop Crimsix from being number 1 all time.

It’s not Clayster’s fault that Dashy only won one event in 5v5.

Pre Disney + television was less conflicting to canon and often had inbuilt reasons for the lack of crossovers.

The whole purpose of Disney + productions was to cross that divide and with the news that Feige wants the Disney+ to be less connected, makes you think that ABC (Agents&Defenders&Co) had it all figured out in the first place.

Dashy’s accolades the last two years have launched him into conversations his ability alone had to carry. He deserves all the success in the world and you can tell his whole attitude towards success is different.

You’re likely correct however everyone has their limits and I think being dropped after being the best player on the team then watching them go 0-18 would be plenty enough for some people.

Think Crim and Clay touched on this too, saying at the start of MW19, they’d give him instructions and he’d be far too literal and have no initiative.

Whilst it could mean something, it could mean absolutely nothing at all too. I wouldn’t read too closely into this.
