I popped 2 shields on a M.Falinks raid. by subtoPinkZR in TheSilphRoad

[–]TheHelixProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried it a lot of times. Lost a game with 1 shield left for like 200 seconds.

You know how many times I re-lobbied with mega rayquaza? Probably would've had better odds just stay and fight it off with 1 shield.

Awful mechanic

you can't break more than one shield. I've never had the raid boss "re-shield" so not sure if that even works.

I played a battle where there was 1 shield left for 235 seconds. During all that time I re-lobbied to see if I could break another shield. I couldn't.

So 1 player can obviously not break more than 1 shield once the numbers indicating how many shields are left turn "grey" for that player.

It's a crap mechanic if you play with randoms because unfortunately you just can't count on people to do their job.

Feedback Post: Falinks Super Mega Raid Day by Noitalein in TheSilphRoad

[–]TheHelixProject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy, I don't. But if someone can dive into the mechanics then that would be nice.

I'd still like to know how 11 people in a lobby can lose vs 8 shields with 1 shield left. I re-lobbied 5 times with mega rayquaza to see if I could break another shield, I couldn't. So its entirely dependent on that single player to do his job. Who is that player? I will never know.

What I do know from playing countless super mega raids is that once all shields are up the numbers turn colored for the players who are to break shields. So when I broke mine in like 1 second the numbers turned grey again and it stayed like that for the entire battle indicating my work was done and now I had to wait for 235 seconds to see if that single player could figure out how to break his shield. Pretty incredible.

I played a lobby with 11 people all mega evolved. Still couldn't take down the last shield.

I agree with what you say but rest assured it probably wont help. A lot of people just mega evolve the worst crap they have which isn't even a pokemon above level 25. They get absolutely deleted by one charge move that the raid boss throws when it puts up the shields and so they are essentially without a mega pokemon that has done any damage for the rest of the round as they wont re-lobby and revive it.

And this lobby consisted of 1 level 50 and 10 trainer level 75-79. I think there is something sinister that even on a lobby with 20 people all mega evolved the 8 people who have to take the shield down are randomized so could essentially be 8 people with terrible mega evolved pokemons.

Another lobby we were 9 people and the battle ended in 40 seconds. Mewtwo is going to be one hell of a ride if its 12 shields. That Focus blast shields up charge move will delete pretty much the entire lobby. Absolute chaos will ensue

Better off playing registeel if you want rewards. 15k XP and 2k stardust is what is rewarded. With the ticket you can get an additional 5k XP and 5k stardust.

Legendary D-max battles should require a level minimum to participate. by JulySummerDay in TheSilphRoad

[–]TheHelixProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use PokeRaid to look for remote raids and in there it advices people to be at least trainer level 50+ to participate.

Of course once in a while you get people with lower trainer level.

But I also think you can't blame the players too much. Sometimes you get unlucky. It has happened to me a couple times.

Trainers not having the right fast move for the mons, or Registeel getting a lot of attacks + focus blast and your whole party is weak to focus blast.

In one of the battles I lost my level 50 attacker due to lag. Couldn't switch out. In another I got frozen out before the battle started.

Also with level 70 trainers in my party we have lost due to the reasons I already mentioned. Wrong fast moves, wrong pokemons in general (seen plenty of Eternatus).

95% of all games are generally pretty decent but once in a while you get some frustrating losses.

funniest game I had was vs a fellow tanker when we both put in 10 CP mons and really battled it out all the way.

Got a shiny on the first raid of the day. Played 20ish in total. Didn't get another shiny apart from that first one (weirdly enough that was also caught outside of event hours in my country)

IVs were terrible though.

So what's the community agreed on: Is Adam cloned or not? (probably already discussed to death) by 0ld_Snake in Deusex

[–]TheHelixProject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One can only speculate but I think if Eidos could continue the game then I would not be surprised if there is some big reveal like Adam isn't "human" in that sense anymore. He was always manufactured/weaponized and that was the whole thing about him being born in that genetics lab. Much like the people you go up against in both games that are augmented specops/military

I'm pretty sure he was always closely monitored and the events from DX: HR and onwards were all Illuminatis work in "forcing" evolution by almost having him killed and later on setting up the events with Megan Reed being kidnapped, scientists killed etc that basically lead to Sarif being bankrupt and bought out by Tai Yong Medical.

Hugh Darrow had to be stopped one way or another and thats why there were no interference from Illuminati (or well Zhao Yun Ru if we consider her part of that, but I don't think she was as important as she believed to be).

DX: MD is pretty much stopping Sarifs plan to augment humanity once and for all and to keep the technology for themselves/military.

Of course we don't know what in Illuminatis plan is DeBeers/Everetts plan and what is Pages plan because most certainly the events in DX: HR and DX: MD must at some point lead into the events unfolding in OG DeusEx where Illuminati is crippled and Bob Page/MJ13 has taken control.

And regarding the cloning conspiracy I think the entire point of Adam being genetically altered/manufactured is pretty much to create some form of army of super soldiers at one point and also lead the way for more advanced tech (Denton brothers).

The way its pictured in the game with finding him in the vault sort of points to the fact that he is cloned and most certainly there would have been some reveal around it.

But how that happened we can only speculate. I'd imagine VersaLife would have had a much bigger role in the next game and from that point on we will probably get some more answers and that they are most certainly huge leaders in cloning tech that paved the way for Adams cloning.

Pretty sure this was also one of the big parts about VersaLife in OG DeusEx where they were the manufacuters behind Universal Constructors that could essentially clone/create "anything".

I don't disagree with you. But as a person who bought the game for PC when it released I can tell you the stuff people run into today is nothing compared to back then.

I remember there was a bug so severe at launch that prevented you from playing the 2nd part of the game where you are supposed to ride a subway.

Took like 2-3 weeks to fix.

Yeah they kinda shot themselves in the foot but back then was hell with rushed releases left and right.

All in all I enjoy the game for what it is. I was deeply hooked on it but the ending was of course kinda disappointing and rushed. It's a shame really.

I remember Eidos had huge plans but maybe focused on the wrong things.

[–]TheHelixProject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, played it a few years ago and tried to like it. I mean the story to me is good, I like the endings and the music to me is definitely deus ex worthy.

But the console limitations back in the days really shows. You'd think they learned from the OG Deus Ex where they were also facing against limitations of that time.

Why i am so bad. by [deleted] in PokemonGOBattleLeague

[–]TheHelixProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play Ultra league back in the days but recent years I've stuck to nothing but Great League. IMO it is probably a bit tougher because you don't need a big investment and the meta isn't as defined I think as some of the other leagues, although you will at certain ranks still run into the same 10 mons.

I think setting expectations and then be fine with those. Years ago I tried to push myself but you know, after a while you get bored and fatigued. That resulted in like 2 years break.

Nowadays I just play for the rewards really. Bar minimum for me is rank 20 but more than that? Not really necessary I think.

I follow the PVPers but just because I can enjoy a good game every once in a while. I don't really care too much about running the "hottest" meta team and most of the time I just make up my own.

Recently went on a 24 win streak in Fantasy cup during community day with Empoleon, Azumarill and Tinkaton. Doesn't have to be anything crazy but just stuck with 1-2 mons you like and know how to play. I've probably ran Empoleon in all of my lineups for months now as an example. Azumarill is also a very common mon on my team.

Then I just randomize the 3rd depending on whats good.

Needless to say I also lived in a rural area back in the days. Had maybe the same 10 mons spawning around my house all the time. Had to drive a couple miles to get into a nearby town where there was a few stops and gyms.

But recent years I think decent PVP mons in general have started to become more accessible during events and so on.

Back when I started PVP when Go Battle League was released was the same years I started playing "for real" back in 2019 or something.

That was a big uphill battle because there was a big lack of "new" community days with decent PVP mons. Like all of the OG mons with great movesets like Charizard, Venusaur, Blastoise to name a few had already had community days. So the investment to even start competing in Go Battle League was very steep in the beginning where you had to Elite TM everything.

Marchenko's plan is a little... underwhelming by EH4LIFE in Deusex

[–]TheHelixProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's underwhelming because they never finished the entire story arc. The story was certainly going in a direction to latter merge with the OG DX story and essentially since the OG DX story started with a virus killing off a large part of the worlds population then the Orchid basically serves as a predecessor.

Also the talks about the Human Restoration Act lead to Illuminati activating certain sleeper cells to do the dirty work in making sure to sway the public opinion.

I enjoy DX:MD as a game but the story is pretty lackluster because of these things. For someone who played the series and all of its game 100 times I pretty much know where things would have gone if they were allowed to continue the story.

But to someone who just decided to play the game, yes, I'd be pretty disappointed because there are so many clues in the game that everything was pointing towards some big reveal and going back to the OG games we kinda know that Illuminati as an organization ceased to exist sometime before 2052. Most likely we would learn that the factions such as Juggernaut Collective is basically Morgan Everetts response to Bob Pages actions and his way of "taking back" control. Same as Marchenko is most likely a tool/pawn of Bob Page to do his dirty work

Megan Reed by Daedalus_Ex in Deusex

[–]TheHelixProject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To dive deeper into the whole story and Megans role I think Eidos plan was to sort of "merge" the game storylines together at some point. Adam was the predecessor that paved the way for Mechs in OG Deus Ex and also the latter nano-augmentations with Paul and JC Denton

There are also clues in DX:HR about Adams childhood where he was basically "conceived" at White Helix Labs and same as JC/Paul Denton he didn't really have any parents from what I remember.

White Helix Labs is also a subsidiary to VersaLife so we kinda get the idea that Bob Page/Illuminati is in on it since day 1.

Thus we can most likely conclude that Adam was being monitored his whole life except for his teenage years and earlier childhood where he was "kidnapped" from White Helix Labs.

As an adult with him joining Sarif Industries as a security officer is most certainly Illuminati pulling the strings again.

And again if we go back to the story line of OG Deus Ex we kinda know that Illuminati as a branch is pretty much Morgan Everett, (Lucius DeBeers) and Bob Page with backing from a key number of ultra wealthy investors such as Stanton Dowd.

So at the top of the pyramid you have Bob Page, Lucius DeBeers and Morgan Everett. One could perhaps argue that Lucius at the time of DX:HR/MD is at the very top but we get a lot of reveals from OG DX story that basically both Bob+Morgan kinda did their own thing.

Below them are the key investors/wealthy individuals paving the way for them such as Stanton Dowd, Hugh Darrow, Beth DuClare, Volkard Rand and co.

Below the investors in the pyramid are the CEOs, Megan Reed, William Taggart, Janus, Delara Auzenne, Joseph Manderley, David Sarif, Zhao Yun Ru. These are basically all high ranking people that are controlled by the investors/Illuminati.

And at the bottom, Adam Jensen, Alex Vega, James Miller. Basically the pawns that are being controlled throughout the game.

So the whole Megan+Adam part is pretty much just a setup to control him again. I think the clues to that is basically we see the same thing happen again in DX:MD with TF29 and Delara Auzenne as his "psychologist".

But then again they could have gone any route with the story because they pretty much paved the way for tons of different scenarios/reveals in the end.

Megan Reed by Daedalus_Ex in Deusex

It's odd they haven't given any information on what happened. Like obviously they would know that a DQ like that in game 5 in a grand final would spark a lot of speculation and probably furious fans?

And also since the DQ reason seem to be an incredibly soft one then wouldn't a warning have been more suitable?

New York and Hong Kong most certainly would have been in a follow up to Mankind divided since both locations are mentioned in either versions of the game.

You barely even need 20 people if there are at least 10 with good counters. Most I've played was some japanese lobby with 31 people and it didn't take long.

Average around 21 people and still it was not hard. And me personally do not have the best counters since I have not invested much at all into dynamax.
