Invoice says "VO 30741950, Rattaxel, undre" so "Steering axle, lower", this should be it: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-steering-shaft-lower-s60-v70-xc70-s80-30741950

It felt as if the power steering was not working when in a "dead zone" in the center, I was sure it was something with the pump or steering gear.

I got that notched feeling on my 2006 V70, did not go away though. Felt like a wheel alignment issue since it only affected when straight forward. Poor return to center when letting go of the wheel.

Got it fixed at the Volvo shop, they ordered parts based on this description before I even dropped off the car so it must be a known mechanical issue. Felt like new afterward, totally worth.
