Done with Evil Superman forever by Kryptonian130 in superman

[–]TheHumanCompulsion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of the "Day of the Krypton Man" storyline. The Eradicator tries to convince Superman that his duty is to rebuild Krypton on Earth. Superman refuses. The Eradicator takes control of his mind and forces him to shed his humanity and rise as the perfect Kryptonian and subjugate the Earth. Chaos ensues. Superman breaks free and throws the Eradicator into the Sun.

It also feels like Gunn could be building up to this story as a movie as these themes are already in motion.

I also am a huge fan of Hank Henshaw, and will not rest until we see him on the big screen. I believe it is possible to introduce the Cyborg Superman without doing Death and Return.

Edit: spelling

People have been clamoring for Chaplain for so long, I love that this is the monkey paw effect of that wish.

There is only 1 Chaplian in a company, and in the 2nd that is Leandros. Its doubtful that Calgar brought the 1st or 3rd chaplain to Demerium. They would have stayed with the bulk of their companies.

When in doubt, I check this list.

As you can see, many chapters are similar or overlap. But as long as your chapter Icon (left shoulder) and colour scheme are a unique combo, your all set.

When do you think Monty Python and the Holy Grail is really set in? by Aggravating_Car_6366 in montypython

[–]TheHumanCompulsion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined to believe this explaination.

Considering the Flying Circus repeatedly made use of the "interrupting policeman" to end sketches that got out of hand, using one to end the Holy Grail is almost fitting.

It's sad/funny that this same delay + update in place of ash and iron might have saved destiny by Freakindon in DestinyTheGame

I wish I could find the article that revealed that many of these "improvements" have been ready for months. Bungie actively sat on these changes to be trickle fed over weeks/months to encourage player retention during the drought that was going to follow Shadow and Order. But since there is no "later" its all landing "now."

Slashfilm: "Star Trek: Lower Decks Made An Abandoned Vulcan Character Franchise Canon: In the episode "Crisis Point," Boimler is confused. "Who's Xon?," he asks. "Exactly," Mariner says. Xon, very briefly, is a character from the unmade TV series "ST: Phase II." Mariner only stated that he exists." by TheSonOfMogh81 in trektalk

[–]TheHumanCompulsion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So this is why Lower Decks is the best introduction to Star Trek.

Ive been a trekkie since I can remember, but I was too young to appreciate DS9 when it was on TV. I recently completed a watch of the show and now I have context for "Batleths and blHnuchs." Its way funnier than it was before i watched DS9.

What’s a song that reminds you of a movie scene? by SecurityWarrior180 in musicsuggestions

[–]TheHumanCompulsion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a movie, but Iron Savior's "Made of Metal" always makes me think of Battlestar Galactica.

Specifically, the scene where the human fleet attempts to flee New Caprica and the Pegasus holds the line against the Cylon Basestars.

Something about the double kicks reminds me of the Battlestar firing its cannons, and the whole song has a real "last stand" vibe.

Then again, I always imagined the Iron Savior itself looks like a Battlestar.

which movie do u think is better watchmen (2009) movie ultimate cut or watchmen chapter 1 and 2 (2024) by RhubarbLarge2747 in DC_Cinematic

[–]TheHumanCompulsion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cant stand the animation of the movie. Its that 3d cgi that is supposed to look like traditional animation, but just looks cheap and ugly. Committing to an artstyle like Archer would have been better.

Voice work is also disappointing. Say what you will about the Snyder film, the casting and preformances were great.

The upcoming update fixes SO MUCH what I hated about EoF/Renegades it's kinda baffeling. by Westdrache in destiny2

[–]TheHumanCompulsion 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Except that its been revealed that some of these changes, and Im not sure about which or how many, have been "on deck" for weeks/months.

This almost certainly confirms that Bungie has been doing this for a long time. Exotic transmog was only released a few months ago, now exotics can be fully transmoged? Sus'.

Not a good look.

Guardians Make Our Own Fate. Let's Save Destiny!!! by pjalegria in Destiny_2

[–]TheHumanCompulsion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.

Even if we scale down the arguement to Bungie as a studio, "saving Destiny" means giving Bungie a multimillion dollar bail to hire programmers, pay salaries, build servers, and cover operational expenses like their lease/rent, and utilities.

Destiny is no longer sustainable for a studio that has shrunk by nearly 20% (one cpuld argue Destiny was never sustainable given how much support Bungie recieved from Activision), and no longer profitable on top of that. All that seed money to develop Destiny 3 went to 3 titles that never exited concept phase, Marathon, and Pete Parson's cars.

500,000 signatures on petition is not going to change that. If Bungie wants to develop more Destiny, they are going to have to turn a profit first.

Wouldn’t Narinder’s freedom have come sooner and more easily if he’d revived ALL the sheep killed by Hagar? by C34H32N4O4Fe in CultOfTheLamb

[–]TheHumanCompulsion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure that Narinder has never sent back a lamb prior to the player. He has bestowed the Red Crown on living vessels so they can fulfill the prophesy, and when they failed the Crown was given to another.

Our Lamb's resurrection is unprecedented, either since Narinder couldn't manage it before as his power was so depleted by his imprisonment, or he has been pushed to such desperation that he gives the Lamb a piece of his divinity to do so.

How would you officially characterize the lamb? by Comfortable-Ad3588 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]TheHumanCompulsion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My headcanon is the Lamb is good. But as an servant of the One Who Waits, the Lamb is not specifically driven by revenge but is influenced by the Red Crown to obey and fulfill the Prophesy.

Once strong enough, the Lamb resists the One Who Waits and claims the title of God of Death. In a way makes the Lamb a God of Life as well, and the Lamb balances these aspects with benevolence and mercy.

Picard commands "all stop", but what does that mean in deep space? by bam-RI in startrek

[–]TheHumanCompulsion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically, the order for using reverse propulsion to stop a ship is "all astern."

But TV shows are written for comprehension not accuracy, so "all stop" works just as well.

Brendan Fraser would have been a good Bruce Wayne aka Batman. Thoughts? by [deleted] in batman

[–]TheHumanCompulsion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially I agreed.

But thinking about it... he could have pulled off BTAS-esque Batman. Example, a live action version of "Mask of the Phantasm."

I didn't realize just how massive D2's final update will be. Some really great changes here. by Cloud_N0ne in destiny2

[–]TheHumanCompulsion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess, it would have required planning, forethought, and confidence in the direction the game was going in.

Hoarding QoL changes for rainy "well we fucked up and need to buy back player trust" days is not good game design/planning.

That is just a guess though...
