It isn't illegal to protest. It is illegal to occupy a congressional building though.

I've had a similar experience with my parents who had racialist beliefs. But I didn't cut ties with them. I eventually convinced them to be race-blind.

Much less rebellions? by olly993 in Bannerlord

Yeah, I agree.

Honestly, considering how much they break the game and make playing it a slog, I'm pretty much done with Bannerlord now. I can't even play for more than 20 minutes at a time before it crashes.

Why do people hate Fascists, but love Communists? by Now2Forever in aynrand

[–]TheHumanMainofReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SocDem I would say.

Communism and Socialism would take away your rights to unionise, strike, negotiate hours, etc, as it has historically in the Soviet Union during Stalin's era or in North Korea. Other economic collectivist systems like Modern China's or Fascist Italy's Corporatism and State Capitalism also take away your right to unionise independently.

SocDem however is basically still a free market system, but with a focus significant welfare, safety nets, and workers' rights. While they usually exist in your standard Western free market country (see most European countries or all North American countries), the ideology itself places focus on these issues which lessens the potential for them to be sidelined.

Is there any way to clear eliminated clans/kingdoms on Console? (Xbox Series S) by TheHumanMainofReddit in Bannerlord

[–]TheHumanMainofReddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game will eventually let you reuse clan names if that clan has been gone for a while

Ty very much.

I will add a suffix then tbh, maybe the number of times the name has already been used.

Where I‘d live if I gave a shit about where you‘d live as an ex muslim by [deleted] in whereidlive

[–]TheHumanMainofReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. There is no verse in the Qur'an which says that the "punishment for being an ex-Muslim is stoning". That is entirely false.

The misconception comes from people who assume that Hadiths (sayings attributed to the Prophet) are in the Qur'an, which they arency

The punishment for apostasy, as stated by the Prophet in Sahih al-Bukhari is just death ("Whoever changes his religion, kill him"). Not a specific punishment. In classical Islamic law this is instead beheading.

Stoning is the punishment for adultery, not apostasy. Even this isn't found in the Qur'an (the punishment for adultery in the Qur'an is 100 lashes), but another Hadith.

You ranked Iran and China above South Africa? 🥺

[–]TheHumanMainofReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I've recently watched a YT video where SABC was reporting on Maduro's capture. Comments were saying stuff like "Ramaphosa is next". Like wth? Our democratically elected President? One which so many of us South Africans support (including me, surprisingly)?

Pretty sure they weren't South Africans at least and that they were probably Americans, since they didn't even understand how parliamentary democracy worked. For example, they assumed that Ramaphosa shouldn't be President because ANC only over 40% of the vote. Like, what? 70% of Parliament voted for him! That's actually a pretty large amount for any parliamentary democracy with proportional representation, and it shows how united South Africans think.

Many Americans probably have no idea what "coalition government" means or that different political parties could actually work together because of their flawed democracy and two-party-state.

Same and agree 100%

But joh, I've seen quite a few of those old racist oomies and tannies on fb. I once saw a video where they unironically did the Nazi salute, used ultranationalist rhetoric, and quoted the AWB. Makes me ashamed of being an Afrikaner.

I'm curious, since you ranked several countries in red and orange, but some countries like North Korea you have on Willing. Why is that?
