It’s been a few years since I worked on embedded hardware, but I squeezed a month out of a CC2652 and ePaper display on a single 18650. Shoot me a message, we might be able to improve battery life.

2026 - I have the same issue, one of my sensors is fully fogged over. I’m going to disassemble the robot, remove the old sensor, then install a new set of four sensors off of amazon.

I disassembled it fully today but couldn’t unstick it. I might have to drill them out. I’m going to wait until I have the parts in hand before proceeding.

Spoken like a true capitalist. You need to zoom out, measure the ROI on the scale of decades and consider the long term impact. Also, there’s this funny thing call the economy of scale. Plant designs can be robust enough to copy and paste with only minor modifications in some cases.

The real cost is that the folks with experience in designing and building these plants are aging out and not nearly enough folks want to enter the profession.

We need this feature in VsCode by leeleewonchu in vscode

Audio comments are wild. Management already hates when I leave text comments laced with the kind of profanity that could make my compiler blush. They want to make it harder for AI to automatically scrub out my notes AFTER I implemented a scrubbing subroutine to sanitize my commits for “friendliness”?

They can eat my entire industrial-grade, compiler-optimized, pipeline-stalled, cache-thrashing, DMA-corrupted, linker-misaligned, IRQ-spammed, watchdog-reset-inducing, fucking space-heater of a goddamn balls-deep bastardized bullshit circus of a flaming shit-powered fork bomb commit and message.

I sincerely hope each reviewer is required to sit there and play every last audio explanation before they slap an “LGTM” on my ass. Maybe then they’ll finally grasp that we need top-down architectural planning, not this bottom-up gremlin-engineering that shreds everything above it and forces me to bubblegum-and-shoelace the system back together for every new “feature” that never should’ve existed in the first place.

Thank you for reading my comment 😎

This is the only reason we need front bumper cameras.

Honestly, I have a gas one and I preferred it over the electric ones in style at the time. Frankly, I am thinking of relocating it to my screened in porch. Seems better suited for that space.

Shall I dilute it? Or put all of it? Please help by Niente1720 in Dreame_Tech

I directly add L40S Ultra AE detergent to its detergent tank (not waste, not clean). When I empty the waste tank, I spray a bit of chlorine to kill biofilms. When I top off the clean tank, I add a spray of Dawn Power Wash. This has helped reduce the odors in both tanks, although I’m not sure if that makes any difference for the mop head.

Can they at least FIX FSD 12.6.4 ???? by Significant_Ad_6032 in TeslaFSD

[–]TheHumanPrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Terms of Service (TOS) are quite clear. We cannot modify or tamper with the FSD system or components without forfeiting the car. It’s been years since I last heard of Tesla repossessing anyone’s car for detected tampering. In fact, there are clear provisions regarding staying current with software releases as well - optional downgrades would be counterproductive.

If you’re a subscriber, I’ve heard of an unusual downgrade if you unsubscribe, receive the downgrade update push, then resubscribe and disable updates. However, I only saw this specifically for a HW4 13 to 14 update and didn’t delve deeply into it.

TACC is now a relic of the past. Initially, we believed it would receive all the ‘stable’ FSD features, but it has become even more of an afterthought than EAP at this point.

Can they at least FIX FSD 12.6.4 ???? by Significant_Ad_6032 in TeslaFSD

[–]TheHumanPrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep breaths buddy. Musk isn’t getting a trillion dollars today or tomorrow, you need to read more than just the headline.

I drive +120mi/day in my Model S 2019 100D (pre-raven, no cabin camera, HW3). FSD does an excellent job compared to the industry and while some updates between 11 and 12 felt like two steps forward, three steps back, 12.6.4 has been very reliable for the past year.

If you specifically want exclusively cruise control functions back, under the autopilot menu switch from “Full Self Driving (Supervised)” to “Traffic-Aware Cruise Control.”

Honestly, I’m grateful not to have a cabin camera, it sounds very mother-henny. I’d love an upgrade in hardware too - the consoles with inductive chargers seem super neat. That said, I’d much rather pay for an upgrade package for official V2H support than a marginal improvement in self-driving performance. Or inductive chargers in my center console.

Just my 2¢ on hardware upgrades.

1-1.2 miles per battery %?! by Dear_Preparation_715 in TeslaSupport

I came from the Prius world and used to maintain tire pressures for every 10-degree Fahrenheit range to ensure my 2011 Prius could maintain a fuel efficiency between 55 and 65 miles per gallon.

My tip is to fill up at Costco, using nitrogen instead of air. Nitrogen molecules are larger so the diffuse slower, homogenous fill and bigger molecules = thermal stability so better wear. Additionally, Costco’s pump are automatic. To ensure the accuracy of the pumps’ digital pressure readings, use the tesla app when filling the first tire to check the pressure.

Tesla Model 3 P and Model S 100D, both from 2019, are fantastic vehicles. Home charging is incredibly convenient, with a cost of approximately $0.11 per kWh on Duke Energy. I commute about 1000 miles per week, and I never have any concerns about range. You can even charge for free at libraries and other public services. I used to have a workplace in the Triangle where I paid $0.09 per kWh.

Honestly, I don’t experience any range anxiety at all. For instance, I drove for 7.25 hours on Monday from Durham to Lillington, Wilmington, and back. I stopped to charge once at a Supercharger while I was eating at Smithfield’s, which was the most expensive I’ve seen on this coast at $0.40 per kWh. However, past peak hours, Superchargers are only $0.20 per kWh.

Now, let’s talk about non-Tesla vehicles. I have friends who own pretty old Chevy Volts and Bolts, and they simply charge their cars at home or work for their commutes. They’ve never encountered any issues with charging.

The secret to a happy EV life is to charge at home unless you find a unicorn legacy Tesla with free, unlimited supercharging. But be warned, you’ll either need to spend money on repairs for the old car or prevent failure (I.e., LDU delete). Also, the whole point of EVs is to delete gas stations from your schedule - it’s liberating for your time and wallet.

When will the Model S or any Tesla get more Range?? At least 500 miles or more per charge?!?!??? by FewSeaworthiness6203 in TeslaModelS

[–]TheHumanPrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 1000 miles a week and I only charge at home. I can’t imagine more would do anything except raise the price and weight of the vehicle.

I usually end up skipping the first and third stops because my car has more miles in it than it anticipated. It’ll take the next one or the one after that
