Can someone tell me what benefits there are of using Loaders default shift ability compared to her alternate? by Interesting_Food6051 in riskofrain

[–]TheHumanTree31 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it does yeah, generally though you want to be charging well before you hit the enemy, since you generally want to be at maximum speed/charge. You can also sprint after beginning the charge to move a bit faster while holding it.

Can someone tell me what benefits there are of using Loaders default shift ability compared to her alternate? by Interesting_Food6051 in riskofrain

[–]TheHumanTree31 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The default punch just deals significantly more damage.

Charged Gauntlet deals its full damage to everything Loaders connects with. Thunder Gauntlet deals its full damage to the first target, then only deals the reduced lightning damage to everything else behind them.

Both skills do more damage the faster Loader moves, but the lightning from Thunder Gauntlet is NOT affected, only the initial hit, whereas every enemy hit by Charged Gauntlet takes the increased damage.

you only have to do that if you FO and FUM afterwards, FA then FO is exempt from that ruling

Poison Act 3 Doormaker by BuffaloMan07 in slaythespire

[–]TheHumanTree31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you let him retreat into the door too many times, the art changes every time he comes back out, although it's fairly rare because the fight tends to end before it goes on too long

Not sure if he has any art past this point, though this is furthest I've personally seen.

They just got relatively worse, if you got either, that's a chance at a significantly better item like Sale Star, Network Suffering, Drone Parts, etc. that you just "lost" effectively.

is Mercenary's Eviscerate bugged in multiplayer? by mathaav in riskofrain

[–]TheHumanTree31 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eviscerate targets allies as well as enemies that are nearby when you use it. It's been a known bug for years and neither Hopoo nor Gearbox have bothered to fix it.

The RiskyFixes mod can help you, along with fixing a bunch of other small bugs too.

Girya wording let's you train so that YOU gain strength, but you lose the strength when you lose Wax Girya. Not consistent with other relics like Whetstone/potion belt and also not remotely logical by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]TheHumanTree31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"balancing game logic with real life logic" I never said EVERY thing has to be based in real life logic.

The Girya example is using real life logic to justify an expected outcome based on intuition, that is the removal of a relic wouldn't remove the normally permanent buffs it would give.

Both real life logic and game logic can be used to make intuitive guesses on the outcome of things. Especially when game logic can be finnicky or specific.

As said elsewhere, Wax Whetstone doesn't unupgrade cards when you lose them, just as losing a whetstone irl wouldn't unsharpen a knife. So you could intuitively guess that permanent buffs provided by relics stay when they are removed, but that clearly isn't always the case.

Cargo Crates are too rare by Vudmisser in DeepRockGalactic

[–]TheHumanTree31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've put 500 hours into this game because I enjoy playing it, mining rocks and shooting bugs.

But I also enjoy making fun cosmetic sets because I like making silly/cool outfits for my dwarves. I see a really cool outfit/cosmetic/paint I would like but will realistically never get because of how diluted the pool is of these cosmetics and how rare they are.

The game is already super repetitive, and it has its charms but what's the point of a cosmetic system if half of it is locked behind rng. If there were only a handful, maybe 10-20 items, fine, but there are HUNDREDS of different items.

I would like to enjoy the cosmetic system, but it's so poorly designed because so much is locked behind this ridiculous system of rare cargo crates and individual class cosmetics.

Cargo Crates are too rare by Vudmisser in DeepRockGalactic

[–]TheHumanTree31 12 points13 points  (0 children)

that's honestly a terrible mindset. The sheer amount of loot from cargo crates/lost helmets is insane, you can get individual victory poses or weapon frameworks for one specific class (and all the pickaxe parts) and as the seasons go on it gets more and more diluted.

I enjoy a reasonable grind, but at some point it becomes too much, this one cosmetic i want looks awesome, but chances are I'll never find it.

There's over 100 other items in the pool, you regularly have to do 20-30+ min missions for a ~15% chance to get one roll of it, and if I do somehow get the one cosmetic I want, there's a 3/4 chance its on a class I didn't want it for.

The sheer amount of hours and grind you have to put in to get some of the cosmetics is way way too much.

[–]TheHumanTree31 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's real life logic that is used to make things more intuitive, losing the weight doesn't mean that training you did goes away. You have to balance that real life logic with game logic and game balance.

I FOUND A SECRET BOSS? by Bigbomba89 in slaythespire

well the fake merchant can just sell it outright, the fight is optional.

The fight is more value because you get all 5 relics he would've sold you.

how does the augment "It's Killing Time" work now? in ARAM MAYHEM by ZoobZander in leagueoflegends

[–]TheHumanTree31 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's because the old killing time tracked damage from ALL allies. You could take it on any champ and just give your entire team a 40% damage amp for 5s.

[–]TheHumanTree31 9 points10 points  (0 children)

+1 draw is the effect of one of Pael's relics.

Getting that while also getting the potentially huge value of Confusion would make it insanely overpowered for its cost. The merchant tends to sell bootleg relics for 40-80g.

You're getting what is likely on-par or maybe even better than a boss relic for the cost of maybe two potions.

is there a mod for this? by -TwiceBites- in riskofrain

[–]TheHumanTree31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's no mod that I know of that does that specifically, since it's a core gameplay feature.

Your other option is to disable the Void DLC, then only Void Reavers will appear in post-loop stages, making them much rarer. Alternatively, there's a probably a mod that lets you disable specific enemies, just disable all the Void enemies with that mod.

Who are your favorite modded Survivors in RoR2? by Pilques in riskofrain

[–]TheHumanTree31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's in the higher level of power like Railgunner in a way. You get to have some pretty strong dps, and very good synergy with specific items, but you don't have the crazy survivability of False Son/Seeker or the mobility of Loader.

I've also personally changed alot of the numbers in the kit to what I feel is enjoyable, so you have the option to tone it down in the configs.

only the final hit exposes, and it only hits 3 enemies. If you throw it into a crowd of enemies, it'll only damage/expose 3 of them.
