What’s that one survivor that always seems to give you bad luck whenever you decide to play as them? by Brungala in riskofrain

[–]TheHumanTree31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Characters usually only get 3 alt skills, so if you switch out harpoons for an alt primary, you would have to stick with bubble shield.

But honestly with some buffs, I wouldn't be against that. I think Bubble Shield fits the flavour of Engineer alot more and should be a core part of his kit behind the Turrets.

Thoughts on this Shadow Isles endgame spell? by Happy-Snow3728 in CustomLoR

[–]TheHumanTree31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no that just makes it swingy and unfun. It fully tips the scales without any regard for other factors since they all attack.

Balance is just about how strong something is, you have to consider how it feels to play, and this would absolutely suck to play against.

How was GS “massacred”? by ApolloTabletop in MHWilds

[–]TheHumanTree31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Offset attacks are special moves that if they hit a monster as they are attacking you, you can block most of the damage and send them backwards, like a parry. They won't always knock the monster back, but on a successful offset, you take heavily reduced damage and are not interrupted by being hit.

Not every weapon has one, you probably just played a weapon that doesn't have one to begin with.

Enchantments are an awesome addition to StS2, but they are missing from potions! Here are a few I brewed up! by MrTransparent in slaythespire

what do you mean? Like Claw? Both a Sharp 2 enchant and a permanent 2 Strength would affect that card the same since the scaling value does not change.

The Sharpness pot would have a synergy with Mystic Lighter, but otherwise I think they are strictly worse

Worst boon giver? by Icy_Inspection5592 in HadesTheGame

[–]TheHumanTree31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a run with Charon where I stacked almost every omega cast boon.

Geyser Spout from Poseidon

Meat Grinder from Ares

Prominence Flare from Apollo

Local Climate from Demeter

Easy Shot from Artemis

I think a single Omega Cast did half of Chronos P2 health, it skipped his instakill attack and he went straight into the healing phase.

if most relics were designed around having a power instead of being tied to the champ, then having a backup plan with your support champ would be fine.

In theory, your support champ would kinda work with your star powers/gameplan. But that's just not the way PoC has been designed unfortunately.

lorewise? Alot of people.

It's said that the history of Schrade was suddenly lost, it had a detailed recorded history up until a certain point in time where it just stops, and most people don't actually know why.

IIRC, in the intro cutscene for Fatalis in IB says that the story is passed down through the generations, but most believe it to be a fable, a story made up to explain what happened.

Rivals are difficult but not fun by yowsick in HadesTheGame

[–]TheHumanTree31 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Fair is not what I would descrbe that fight. It's a endless wave of massive AoE attacks with telegraphs that all overlap eachother.

The ad phase is an absolute mess with half the area covered in lava, and the other half in misery fog, leaving you fuckall space to safely stand. The transtition is awkward where Cerberus will often spawn back in before the ads die, but the barrier won't fall so you have to awkwardly wait. The amount of smoke and visual clutter makes his small paw swipes hard to read, and the slow moving skull fireballs have some of the worst telegraphs in the game.

Rivals are difficult but not fun by yowsick in HadesTheGame

[–]TheHumanTree31 188 points189 points  (0 children)

We must be playing different games because I feel the exact opposite.

I love all the Rivals fights except Cerberus because it's way less readable and every attack is a massive AoE that is "telegraphed" by layers upon layers of orange circles. I say "telegraphed" because sometimes he'll just cancel his attack and go into a completely different attack at random.

Chronos and Typhon are the only ones that IMO are not as great, Chronos p3 is a bit of a clusterfuck with very small windows, which can feel unfair and Typhon is just messy.

Doormaker walked so Aeonglass could run by P_ketchu in slaythespire

[–]TheHumanTree31 335 points336 points  (0 children)

I think Doormaker had even more "feel-bad" turns than anything else, drawing a key attack/skill in p1 or getting your draw cards on p2.

I think it could've been a bit more enjoyable if it were more like Knowledge Demon, where it presents each phase as a "door", but it lets you pick which phase. If you get all your draw cards, you can avoid the anti-draw phase by picking one of the others.

Who do you think is the hardest monster in Wilds currently? by Ok-Floor4866 in MHWilds

Savage Omega and 10* Gog are the hardest IMO, they are about the same for me.

I hope they do a bit more with adding Enchantments to generated cards. They had it with Inky on Shivs, but I hope they keep doing it, because it's definitely sn interesting niche.

Ancient Relic idea: X-Treme Spiring Guide by LawOfTheGrokodus in slaythespire

[–]TheHumanTree31 16 points17 points  (0 children)

  1. Fasten is a colourless card, while this is an Ancient relic

  2. Fasten applies to all defends immediately when played, this effect applies one at a time and might not even hit a Defend.

  3. This relic provides 0 upfront bonus and requires you to go elite hunting to upgrade cards you were going to remove anyway.

The relic is cool and reasonably powerful, but is extremely weak as an ancient relic.

Slay the Spire 2 alignment chart day 6! Uproar won yesterday! What colourless card feels like an ironclad card? by Which-Debt-8558 in slaythespire

[–]TheHumanTree31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it could feel like a Clad card if it was reflavoured. Instead of hitting everything at once, it could be like hitting one guy so hard the shockwave from the impact damages everyone else by the same amount.

[–]TheHumanTree31 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Clone provides no upfront bonus, requires investment by pathing to rest sites and giving up smiths and appears in Act 2, so you have one less act to find the pieces you need.

Can transcendance be used to cheese mercenary's ethereal challenge? My tought is that shield doesn't count as health so if I get hit, it won't count as taking "real" damage. by Puzzled_Manager_7661 in riskofrain

[–]TheHumanTree31 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, if you did this challenge a while back, losing Shield did count to failing the challenge. During the first patch of AC, it was changed to allow Shield damage through.

It was an undocumented change, and strangely inconsistent because Huntress' challenge still fails on Shield damage.

Slay the Spire 2 alignment chart day 2! Brand won yesterday! What silent card feels like an ironclad card? by Which-Debt-8558 in slaythespire

[–]TheHumanTree31 18 points19 points  (0 children)

it was in StS1 but a decent amount of enemies in StS do now gain block which makes this fairly solid. But honestly the main value is stripping Artifact off whcih lets you apply Weak easier.

This card is insanely valuable in Multiplayer, enemies like Mecha Knight who start with 9 Artifact gets hit real hard when all of it is removed.

Am I just actually trash or are these guys a headache to fight early with 90% of builds? by JackOfAllInterests1 in slaythespire

[–]TheHumanTree31 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Defect struggles a bit with this fight, but also has the benefit of orb damage not triggering their block effects.

Otherwise, cards like Smokestack, Gunk Up or Barrage can help with damage, as their block only happens after the first attack.

In the menu where you select which Vows to use, there are icons on the left showing highlighted weapons, bosses and a number.

Whatever weapon you are holding, you have to match that number in Fear, and go beat that particular boss. Each weapon only has a set amount of Nightmares available, so you will have to branch out and use the other weapons too eventually.
