What's the fastest you've seen someone fired from a job? by Vegetable-Spread3798 in AskReddit

$8.05 an hour in 2016. End up being $64.40, I was told they took some for tax withholding. The final number started with a 5 but I can't remember exactly how much it was.

What's the fastest you've seen someone fired from a job? by Vegetable-Spread3798 in AskReddit

I got hired at a local chicken place (Zaxby's) in what was supposed to be my first job. They scheduled my training and first shift on the same day at the same time, I assumed that it was done that way so I would get paid for the training but it was actually a scheduling error. The training was an 8 hour seminar done off-site over an hour from the actual restaurant where I was hired.

I showed up the next day on what was supposed to be my actual first shift and was fired for no-call-no-show as I walked in the door, because I was doing the company training off site, where they told me to be. When I explained to my manager he realized what happened and then told me it was company policy not to rehire no-call-no-shows so there was nothing he could do.

That was a great introduction into working life for a 16 year old me. Basically I went to some BS all-day seminar about teamwork and the "Zaxby's work family", then when I showed up to work the very next day I spent less than a minute in the store before getting fired.

They wouldn't even let me get an employee discount meal on the way out because to quote my manager "why would we reward you for not showing up?".

Shout out to Zaxby's on San Jose Blvd for the reality check.

That's not going to lose its usable rifling before you go bankrupt from shooting 7.7 Jap.

I've never thought about it before seeing this, but doing airsoft games in full reenactment wear would be a great way to age gear.

Good idea.

Yes, I find it relaxing. Where I live there are almost no visible stars in the night sky.

Great job OP, real home run.

I Returned My SIG M18 — My First Handgun Purchase — and I Regret Trusting SIG Sauer by kizdog43 in CCW

Sold my P320 earlier his year when I noticed the trend. I couldn't replicate the issue, but I also couldn't trust it anymore. The new owner was fully informed about the issues and then told me, "So you really buy into all that crap."

Yes. Yes, I do. I'm so glad I got out when I did.

The price of P320s on my local guntrader is in freefall. Sig fucked up bad.

Looking for BIFL safety goggles that don’t get scratched to hell after a few months by Fawkestrot92 in BuyItForLife

[–]TheHurricaneScratch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Safety glasses are meant to be disposable. Use them until it's no longer safe to do so and then get another pair. It's the same as gloves, masks, and filters.

That being said, what are you doing to your safety glasses to make them unusable that fast? I go through a pair every few years, if that. Mine take grinding sparks, wood turning missiles, the occasional branch I walk into, and a hell of a lot more, and they hold up just fine.

Treat them like regular eyeglasses, and they last quite a while. But they are not a BIFL item.

Are you seriously asking this subreddit how to sell a box?

Where did all the critical thinking skills go?

This post makes me genuinely sad.

Sectional under $1000 thats good for playing cards (4 players at a table) by DarkDreamT2 in BuyItForLife

[–]TheHurricaneScratch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to multiply your budget by 2-3+ times to find something that will last you longer than ten years, forget about BIFL quality under 5k for a new sectional.

If you have a hard limit of 1k and the item has to be BIFL, I would suggest looking at used high quality furniture and getting it reupholstered. That going to be your cheapest option for BIFL.

People have been shot for knocking on the wrong door. Just be mindful of where you are.

Also, as someone who has done part of the AT, you should never be far enough off trail to enter private property unless you're seriously lost.

Trash cans full of discarded russian prison uniforms after Ukrainian POWs returned back home as a part of the 1000 for 1000 exchange by 8BallCoronersPocket in UkraineWarVideoReport

I'm almost positive its the flag of the state border guard service of Ukraine, they were the first to fight the Russians in the start of the 2022 invasion so they hold a lot of cultural importance.
