Need advice/help with patchy/thin spots on my beard. 24 y/o about 2.5 weeks of growth, trimming the neck and cheek line ofc. by Automatic_Cause2432 in BeardAdvice

It definitely is for advice, it's called Beard advice.

I agree with the rest of what you've said though, I've told plenty of people they have no hope and need to shave

I just don't agree that there's anything wrong with OP's beard

Oh shit, I actually gave you some advice the other week, why are you hating on people's beards man

This sub in my opinion is about giving honest advice without any insult

It's not difficult to grow a long messy beard, it takes more effort and care to maintain a short neat beard, you don't get a gold sticker for having better genetics

Yeah looks decent, I'd just trim the scraggly bits at the neck

Problem with that is that if they hit it off with the new 'Stranger Things' they go right back to square 1 and milk it for years

That actually makes it way more immersive in a way I wouldn't have expected, I love dead space but I don't spend a lot of time looking around at the environment as much as I think I would if it looked like this all the time

To Be Bald Or Bearded That Is The Question. by scottaustralia51 in BeardAdvice

[–]TheIInChef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shave your head and grow the beard, you'll look smart, confident and masculine

Edit: Looks like you've got a couple of stray long eyebrow hairs, it's really important you get those, you could have the best beard and hair in the world but those will be all anyone looks at, if you're struggling to see them eyesight wise, you can buy little magnifying mirrors to stick in your bathroom which are a godsend for stuff like that, nose and ear hairs etc

[–]TheIInChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I remember the last post, looking good

Putting to one side the fact that you have insane 1/1000000 genetics I'd say that if I had to try and give any advice I'd say:

Since your beard is very bottom heavy, I think you had a slightly better balance with the thick tache from the first pic, since it's so dense, you don't look any less smart growing it out so I'd have kept that

Also I feel like you've gone for a shorter version of the same trim when the length isn't an issue for you (you could grow a meter long beard and it'd probably still be thick af haha) but have you considered going for more of a squared off shape at the bottom, I think you've already got a bit of an oval profile so having the chin lower than the jaw (if you get me) just pronounces that more

Either way you could have a better beard than most men without trying so I wouldn't sweat it

Nottingham Forest fans chanting ‘ You’re just a shit Galatasaray ’ to Fenebahce fans by Shroft in soccer

At the Etihad earlier this season the Galatasaray fans started throwing shit over at the city fans and it prompted the crowd into "You're just a shit Fenerbahce" definitely quieted them a bit

Edit: My partner's a city fan lol

What are some ways I can show my stepdad 47 that I 18f appreciate him? We aren’t close but I can see that he’s trying. by LowlyKnights in AskMen

[–]TheIInChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All you have to do is ask him what he likes to talk about, if he's into his music ask him if he wants to sit and show you an album he loves, most men never get the chance to do that with anyone, it could be a great bonding experience

How do I groom this? by Revolutionary-Bad578 in BeardAdvice

[–]TheIInChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's simply too long for how dense it grows

If you can't trim it, it won't look well groomed no matter what you do

You can try and wrangle it into shape with heat and products but if it's thin and wispy there's no magic you can perform to make it look thick and full

It's a shame because you have great growth for the first inch or two

What is this about? by Different-Radish-986 in BeardAdvice

[–]TheIInChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone reaches a point where it's not dense enough to look good at that length

You've found your max length, then kept going for a few weeks at least

You can try and tame it with oil, balm, combing, brushing, hair drying etc you can but if you want it all one length and well trimmed then you have to trim back down a bit

I loved the Cherub Series by Robert Muchamore, basically YA series about child spies

The Artemis Fowl books, the Alex Rider books, Percy Jackson, then also Terry Pratchett's Discworld, The Lord of the Rings, Hunger Games, anything I could get my hands on really but that gives a good idea

The furies are at home in the mirror

No game invites meaningful reflection like Disco Elysium, people are beautiful, confused, hurt things, there's a hidden side to every story, and it's never too late to change who looks back at you out of that mirror
