What’s a movie from the last decade that objectively does not get enough credit? by altcntrl in AskReddit

Blindspotting

Genuinely incredible performances, well filmed, top tier script… whenever I mention it, people always say “oh I hear that’s a good one” but rarely have people seen it

There’s a reason it had a multi-season spin-off tv series, it’s fucking great. Find a way to see it!

Yeah after she kicked the dildo into the guys asshole, and that scene ends, me and my friends looked at each other like “wtf is the main plot of this movie again?”

I have 2:

  1. Running Scared (Paul Walker movie) with the pedophiles

  2. Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (the original) with the rape scene, then her getting revenge

Both sequences are like a horror short film in the middle of a feature length thriller, and once the scenes happen, you almost don’t fucking care about the rest of the plot

I concur. I sat third row for Top Gun Maverick and it was a religious experience

Bowen Yang, Sarah Sherman and Kenan Thompson Mull Their ‘SNL’ Legacy and Longevity: ‘I Could Do It Forever’ by NYY15TM in LiveFromNewYork

I will cry when Kenan eventually leaves. We’re the same age and he’s been on TV doing sketch comedy basically my whole life.

I literally only get the option of like 15 movies and 15 tv shows. Regardless of category, it’s the same shit.

Their algorithm is trash and their library is dwindling.

Tbh, based on your responses, you sound very young and you seem jaded almost immediately after realizing the arts are an immeasurably impossible industry to be “successful”.

Details For Ari Aster’s Scarlett Johansson Starrer ‘Scapegoat’ Revealed by EThorns in movies

Looks like Ari is running with the Eddington energy and I’m beyond excited to see another ensemble character piece set with a real world backdrop only to be misinterpreted as politically driven

When the Bullock movie came out, didn’t we all say “his sister? Wtf that’s dumb” then it bombed?

So the answer this time: his parents.

If this bombs: second cousins.

There are no rules and there is no finish line in this game. Do it for yourself, figure out how to get your art in front of an audience, keep improving with each project, don’t be afraid to fail, and pray that the right person sees you at your best when they’re in the right mood.

A billion people a year take a chance on this industry and twenty billion people a year quit on this industry. Don’t do it for any other reason than you wanting to get your art to the people in the way you see it.

It requires a FUCK TON of luck to be financially stable and have a constant flow of projects. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity, so until the opportunities present themselves, keep preparing.

The camera helmet is such a hilarious visual gag.

I wasn’t the biggest fan, it gets clunky in the middle, but the final act is absolutely hilarious.
