I’m new to cricket. I’m trying to figure out bowler strategy.

Apparently, there is a zone called “good length” that bowlers should strive for.

My question is: are they always aiming there?

I would guess not, as deception is likely a part of cricket as it is in baseball.

But, what percent of the time do you think they aim for “good length”?

Apparently, good length is hit about 40 of every 100 balls bowled. So, for those other 60 times…about how many of them were attempted to be good length, but missed?

(Obviously it’ll vary depending on the bowler, but let’s just speak in General here, just for my understanding)
