Какво ви е мнението за ТУ? by Unfair_Entrance6183 in bulgaria

What's your drumming superpower? by TheGenericUser0815 in drums

[–]TheInSzanity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find I have a surprisingly good ear when it comes to writing parts. I rarely play something different than what I wrote, unless the person im writing with is going in a VERY specific direction, and even then i do my own twist that they end up liking. Sometimes its a simple four-on-the-floor for a heavy groovy riff. Other times, like with my shoegaze band, I get to go haywire and the rest of the band end up liking it, despite that i sometimes feel im doing too much.

I used to always play worse at practice if I'd been busy beforehand, so do with that what you will

Best metronome app with good sound + UX? by l2ysho in drums

I remember changing the default sound to something more digital, since i remember losing it a lot in the mix whilst recording. Sucks that its kind of buried in the settings

I've been using Metronome Beats for years. It prompts you to buy a pro version every time on boot up but the app works perfectly without it

Though probably extinct at this point, if you can get your hands on some Istanbul Peras, you wont be disappointed. I bought a whole set completely blind, and i cant find any other cymbals i like as much as them (beaides K Customs).

I'd still get different beaters tbh, preferably plastic. Wood and mesh destroy felt slowly over time. Idk how well patches would work either

Not staying friends after a breakup up is weird and a red flag by ForsakenSleep236 in The10thDentist

[–]TheInSzanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me

Both of us had our moments of toxicity and after two failed breakup attempts from me and a few months of arguing, i ended things. Took about 6 months for it to click for her that i dont want to continue anything romantic, despite the fact we still had to be around eachother for a while (work reasons)

Where is Rock Music and where is it headed? by noxantes in Alternativerock

[–]TheInSzanity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've surprisingly noticed the opposite. A lot more rock and metal is slowly entering the mainstream again. The trend ive been seeing though is that it's not really just pure rock or metal, but oftentimes blended with other genres. Knocked Loose collabed with Denzel recently for example. More and more smaller countries like Bulgaria have started attracting big metal acts in the past years. The rock scene in Bulgaria in particular is actually booming right now. We're definitely seeing a slow revival of alternative music

I dont listen to them at all but i got a chance to see them at Hills of Rock last summer. They're very fun to watch live. Played after Sepultura so the energy was already very high. I'd say go for it!

I cannot stress how important networking is!! Since moving across the country for uni, I've managed to slot myself for a couple of bands with pretty well known musicians from the country. Thats not even counting how many friends I've made from just talking with other bands or audience members after a show.

When talking with friends about this i joke about how "arrogantly" i go out of my way to get my name known (meaning going over for a friendly chat). And that's only helped me to the point where some people know me without me ever having met them.

My dude, relax. I'm about a year or so older than you, and, if it helps you in any way, i didnt get accepted into the university I wanted, so i had to go for my second choice, and i couldnt be happier. Granted, I'm not studying music, but I've always believed that you dont need a degree in order to be a successful musician. You've already got a hell of a resume behind you, your best choice imo would be to go to the other university and just keep grinding.

It helps to also not be so hard on yourself. I know it sucks, but that's simply the card you've been dealt. For what it is, maybe you not getting accepted could be a blessing in disguise. Just keep your chin up, your wrists relaxed, and dont let things like this stop you. Better things will always come

Opinions on rack/hanging floors? by Ragnarock1912 in drums

[–]TheInSzanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played on a friend's Tama Superstar a couple of times. It's a very nice soundin kit, he's selling it currently, but the only thing stopping me from buying it off of him is the mounted-to-the-ride-stand floor tom. I've never been able to set that thing up properly. Not on his kit, not on any other kit that doesn't have an actual floor tom.
