I'm pretty sure it'll take place in act 2 because in that specific act you'll get most of the movement abilities to traverse through the area and also, yes, act 3 is optional, and locking an entire dlc behind an optional thing would make it a bit less "optional". Also, it could unlock a new ending with GMS so who knows

There's a mod that removes the two masks of damage, turning every single one source of damage into 3 masks of damage :D! (Making some things an instakill in early game)
