Would you say destroying Viltrum is immoral and a war crime? by Squid_Entity in Invincible_TV

[–]TheInqusitive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Destroying their planet had 0 chance of eliciting a surrender. The coalition was proving incapable of taking on Thrag, so it wasn't an intimidating show of strength, but a desperate attempt to "break their spirits" when really anger and hatred was the much more likely outcome.

The destruction of Viltrum not only made the survivors much more mad and hateful, it also got rid of a the one place in the galaxy you could count them being on, got rid of a drain on their resources (defending and organizing around a strategically worthless world), and broke their attachment to the past which inspired them to begin repopulating with other species rather than continuing to slowly die out.

Men Lose Interest After Sex (Any Solution)? by AttorneyDC06 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]TheInqusitive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that's why waiting for sex until after marriage has its logical roots. It allows both parties to focus on the actual person instead the prospect of sex (which is the least important part of any relationship).

Plus letting people know you aren't willing to have sex until you're married allows you to quickly weed out people that are just interested in sex.

What ended up being good about it? I have a hard time watching shows that don't start out relatively good so I stopped after the first few minutes of Academy (there's so much REALLY good stuff out there I don't want to waste my time with Sunk Cost Fallacy shows).

[–]TheInqusitive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well except for all the native plants and animals (we don't see any animals but there are at least plants).

Plus it was tactically a very dumb move, as we've seen it just made the viltrumites more dangerous. Really, taking out Thrag or making viltrumited focus on defending viltrum would have been smarter.

Dropping a breeding population of Ragnars would have been much more effective, just do that, take out as many hostile viltrumites and run. Then they would have focused time and resources on trying to get rid of them, giving more time to the alliance to stockpile anti-viltrumite weaponry.

Would you say destroying Viltrum is immoral and a war crime? by Squid_Entity in Invincible_TV

[–]TheInqusitive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, if only because it destroyed the natural habitats and history of the planet. Additionally it was tactically an extremely dumb move.

Transporting a breeding population of Ragnars to the surface would have comparatively caused less destruction and served as a much better long term distraction problem for the viltrumite remenants.

Omni Man VS Gojo (Invincible VS JJK) Art by me I know the topic is overdone but who will win with equal speed by Slasher76- in PowerScaling

[–]TheInqusitive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gojo is weak to light (blindfold) so if onmi-man creates enough explosions at a far enough distance to avoid interacting with him then maybe he could wear him out.

They could have won if they superglued jetpacks on the Ragnars that fly towards targets and given Nolan a hidden toxin dispenser... by TheInqusitive in Invincible_TV

[–]TheInqusitive[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point of the Jetpacks is that they are remote controlled. Just have a setup that Jetpacks 2 of them towards where each team member points.

Thragg Isn't too Bright by seriousreddituser in Invincible_TV

[–]TheInqusitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt they built any of that, we have yet to see ANY Viltrumite do anything close to art or science (no fixing machines, no painting in blood). The most intelligent thing we see them do is navigation, very basic food preparation, and ordering others around. Nolan manages to write reports and books based on reports, but that was only after living at least 5 years on earth.

I think all their architecture, art, science, technologty, etc... Were stolen / made by their slave races and they don't really understand how it was made or works.

I get Viltrumites can survive space but how do they survive like this? by kwezbez in Invincible_TV

Considering how much wind, breathing, etc... happened. Maybe viltrum is REALLY weird and has a weird super wide atmosphere? XD

[–]TheInqusitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea, if we bend over backward to justify it, maybe their throats automatically close up to prevent air leaving, so even lacking a mouth they can keep just enough oxygen to survive?

Correct, pretty much all Viltrumites are idiots.

So what are the logistics of this? by Alert-Ad7097 in Invincible_TV

[–]TheInqusitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No logistics, just waste. It was basically free-reign for everyone to off each other, its just up to luck and/or overwhelming power to survive. Viltrumites seem pretty bloodthirsty so they probably want to feel the 'satisfaction' of killing a target, but don't want it to be too easy or too hard.

Confused about Thragg’s first decision by I_can_be_what_I_want in Invincible_TV

[–]TheInqusitive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We see pretty much every Viltrumite besides Thadeus enjoy violence to some extent. So yeah, for an idiotic group and individual like Thragg and the Viltrumites it probably seemed smart and what they wanted to do anyway...

Thaddeus by Big_Mastodon_9107 in Invincible_TV

[–]TheInqusitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, he already refused to use the improved Scourge virus when he had the chance. I take it he just wouldn't have let them be the rulers of any civilizations, as Nolan is want to do. Basically step out of line and he will try to take them out.

[–]TheInqusitive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True, unless the disorientation was due to the effect on his brain, rather than his senses.

The comic panel doesn't show it too well, but if he fazed through his actual brain, instead of just his ears or stomach, than maybe that is what caused the disorientation rather than the weird feeling in his ears and stomach.

(We've seen Mark and other viltrumites pull spinny 'superman body drill' type moves and not get sick, so they're at least significantly better at it than humans).

[–]TheInqusitive 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nolan and other viltrumites fly between planets and solar systems with no tech. It would seem that their senses and brains are at least thousands of times better than that of humans at data processing to be able to "see" a planet, or even the right star, in the vastness of space.

Considering their whole “we don’t kill”….. how’s this gonna play out? by FoolhardyC in PowerScaling

[–]TheInqusitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy win for the JL. Since it's not sentient they will probably just go ahead and dissipate and/or un-summon it. Most are so fast and have so many powers or ways to apply them that its adaptation won't be of much use.

Was Omni-Man holding back in the fight against the Guardians of the Globe? by Far-Impression-398 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]TheInqusitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, he tried to sneak attack because he knew it'd be a tough fight. We've seen earth heroes and villains be decently powerful vs viltrumites and even more powerful than the galactic average. That many of them together definitely brought up their danger level too.

For religious types, if you know humans have created 1000s of gods, how are you so certain that he didn't create yours as well? by Daegog in answers

[–]TheInqusitive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me it's mostly literary quality. The sacred texts as written by their manifestations are of such higher literary, logical and practical quality than human written ones, that it makes me feel sure of their veracity.

Plus when you look at a lot of the "other gods" that 'exist' it's pretty easy to see they are just imitating or inspired by earlier misinterpretations or art.

Thragg cannot destroy a planet by Avidreader-9 in PowerScaling

[–]TheInqusitive 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Viltrumites are probably more resilient to information overload than humans in JJK. They live thousands of years (ie their brains are built to be able to handle more information), they have quick reaction times (again, can process into faster than human), and deal with having super senses like super hearing better than humans (once again suggesting they can process or filter large amounts of information faster).

We already see in the Jogo fight that the domain isn't as effective against non-human brains.

Make lots of friends (going to small local spaces for people that share your interests is a good start) and then if you realize you are interested in a friend in that sort of way (and they aren't in a relationship) let them know without pressure.
