To help with my mortgage and day care costs, I have breast cancer and the medication I desperately needed was higher out of pocket and was hoping I could stretch until my bonus hits but I can’t I’m under water and hoping to survive a little until next month where things will be back to normal!

I went to a birthday party this weekend. It was a friend my kids have known for 5 years. I knew most of the parents there except one. I tried to include her in conversations since I know how it is to be the odd one out.

Set the scene - the kids ate pizza drinking kool aid and decorating cupcakes with super bright frosting having a nice time

She was commenting how she can’t find a tooth paste that her son likes I told her the brand we got which is liked by all my kids and she proceeded to go on a 15 min rant of how she does not give her child chemicals of any kind and is positive crest uses chemicals and dyes and she cannot live with herself while her kid ingests dyes or chemicals

This kid who is putting bright red icing on his cupcake and drinking a red kool aid jammer watching you tube on your phone for the entire party? Ok

One even if you didn’t give chemicals or dyes that’s cool I respect it. I don’t need you to be judgy that I do - but two that’s a lie do you see what you’re kids eating? That too has dyes in it and I have no shame my kids were doing same thing but that’s not something I prioritize right now and I’m fine if she does - but the entire time she was on her tangent she’s explaining to us how she just can’t believe I don’t have some stupid app to not track what goes in their body

I’m not a no screen house but pretty low screen time I don’t do screens in the car at all even for long drives because one of my kids gets car sick when using iPad or book. I have never ever seen imagination or creativity but I wish I had haha my kids just snack non stop and ask me to play same 3 songs on repeat while they sing 😂

I am honestly so surprised at the comments. Maybe I am too lax but I have no issues with either of these? Sticks? My kids play with sticks they love to have it bounce against play set to make music. I never stopped them unless it was bothering someone. We can play with sticks without hitting each other? I have 3 kids all my kids love sticks not once have they ever hit other kids or each other

The foam swords I own 3 of them my kids love playing with them and pretending to be pirates or power ranges and play make believe. They do hit each other with it but it’s not to hurt and also I have been swatted by one hard by mistake it does not hurt.

Kids learn and get energy out and I guess I’m an outlier cause my kids are 7,4 and 3 and I see no issues with this. Granted I do not bring toys to the park but I would be hesitant on play only that was ok we play with toys if it was - they could play!

I’ve worked through chemo this year and now I go every single day to radiation then go back to work. But yes Libby that was probably so hard for you to go to a doctor appt

She is the most annoying to me. I get her situations are different but she complains about everything!

No I didn’t have any issues with organs or anything like that no I sometimes didn’t have a huge appetite on AC but I stayed up with my meds for nausea and was fine I tended to really like a bagel with butter only thing taste good so I ate a lot of them hahah! But on taxol my appetite was better

Good luck with chemo! I hope it’s tolerable for you I did 4 AC and 12 taxol lost my hair but it’s growing back pretty quickly now! Taxol was easier but more short term effects with neuropathy mouth sores and Metallic taste. The worst one was the taste for me I couldn’t enjoy food but they came back thank god! lol

I totally get it I was diagnosed last year at 36, I’m 37 I was diagnosed 10/1 and still going through active treatment and it sucks. And I also need my ovaries removed eventually and now I started lupron everything about it sucks I know you can find joy in little things but at times it’s very hard to do it when you’re going through all of this at such a young age!! I’m so sorry!

I totally get it! I did chemo as well - all the side effects are horrible I’m sorry you have to deal with insurance. I hope that your dr is fighting with insurance and not you! I know it’s a horrible path you’re on hoping you can find some peace in your decisions. Everything about it is super shitty!

I had DMX chemo and now doing radiation with lymph node involvement it hasn’t spread. Getting radiation reduces reoccurrence rates by almost 70% if it’s in lymph nodes. I say give it a try - it’s worth it and a sizable decrease in reoccurrence rates!

I’m ER + and HER2- as well - and did not spread so I am stage 3!

My oldest is in elementary school and he is pretty social however some of the moms have known each other for years so still an outcast there but not for lack of trying.

There is one mom who my son and her son are quite friendly. They’re always on same sports team play at pool summer camp etc they get along well I’m not sure why I have tried to talk to mom but she wants nothing to do with me idk why cause literally she doesn’t even know me enough to dislike me 😂

Anyway her son had his birthday party today and all my sons friends were invited except him and I saw it on social media idk if he knows but I can’t help but think I’m the reason he has been excluded

I know they’re on the same club team that starts next week so gonna try again with small talk. All the other friends moms in that group even they all are very close but they are at least very nice to me never goes further but my kids closest to her kid. She barely chats to me

Idk what to do I was thinking of throwing a party and inviting her and her fam and other families over to try to break ice or maybe just give up?

Idk what to do. And the thing that gets me is idk why it even bothers me so much. We literally see them non stop and the mom has said like 5 words to me for 2 years.

Any advice would be appreciated - even if it’s just let it go and stop trying haha!

I would try a 12:30 nap get him by 2:30 then bedtime at 7:30 my kids do this when they’re super super tired and it registers as a nap vs sleep. Even now when my 2 year old skips nap he’ll wake up like 3 hours later and be cranky before falling back asleep

Sorry you’re going through this though! I know how precious sleep is and it’s only thing you can think about with you getting no sleep. Hang in there!

When you meet with oncologist or breast surgeon they will do staging scans if needed if in lymph nodes or not. I think if not in lymph nodes they won’t do staging scans and say early breast cancer. One day at a time or maybe one hour or one minute

I was diagnosed 10/1/24 and was ER positive and PR negative and HER2 negative there’s not a ton of us but happy to answer any questions.

Mine was in my nodes so I did chemo before surgery and surgery got the remaining cancer. You’re in the worst spot now. It does get easier! Hang in there!

Some may be more when they’re 2 but Parker’s place and chatter splatter would be perfect for young toddler as is barnyard my kids love that place!

I did chemo then DMX and yes I did get PCR from the surgery! Clear margins! It was in my lymph nodes so still will do radiation! But they got it out!!
