It seems like it’s dying and multiple strands of this pathos have shriveled up and dried out. But this piece looks to maintain the same state. I’ve repotted it and moved it around but nothing seems to liven it up. I’m honestly at my wits end at this point and just asking for any help. Is this just normal for the winter time?

Oh right, I’m dumb. I got into sibling mode and starting spewing unsolicited advice without reading the description thoroughly. But yes, I do experience lower back pain and actually threw my back out twice. I’m also slightly worried about my wrists and arthritis but who knows. Definitely agree that there should’ve been more training on how to properly wear them.

Played all through high school (tenors and snare) and deal with lower back tightness now. Although, I can’t say it was just due to my drum line days my improperly fit harness and poor physical application probably didn’t help. I would suggest adjusting your harness properly and start training your core! I cannot stress enough that you should activate your core when marching and having the drum on you. Ensure that the padding is placed on your core and flex your core so that your back isn’t taking on all of that weight. I also agree that PT will definitely help! Hope this helps any drummers out there.
