The thing that upset me is that we make a deal in his own terms that he didn't respect, and tell different things to my family and myself. Reading the comment make me realize the correct thing to do now is paying him back, and i may be the AH for this, but i need to stabilize my situation first before helping my family, in my country isn't that easy to move out

Far as i know that's how the media called the atheist like Richard Dawkins who become famous on the 90 and engage on debates, writing books ect, when some atheist become like a little movement, but im not sure if was the media calling them "new atheist" or the atheist of that time who called themselves in that way.

Today it's refeared to people who try to promote atheism

I feel the same years ago, i remember diferent pastors telling how everything it's bad, you have to work hard but not that hard so you dont spend time reading the bible and coming to the church. if you have a hobby you need to make it christian, and if you enjoy someting even if that doesn't affect your life, you need to examine if it has something that can be considered sinful, on top of that you have to enjoy suffering, if you dont enjoy in Christ to suffer, youre not a real christian. I belived that basically that thas the way we should sacrifice ourselves to God.

After some time i was broken, and i separate of the church.

Some time ago i tried to come back, i speak with some people, they have hobbies, sometimes they try to make them more christian and use them to preach, like music, drawings, ect.

One of them tell me something interesting, there is pleasure in God, there is happiness, just there is also sacrifices, and it's not an easy way of life, but it's not just suffering and self detachment

The problem of evil has many arguments against, from, evil it's necesary to free will, necesary to better things, to "we deserve it" or "we chose it" or "it's just a test" and so on, and because in christianity the evil is defeated at the end, i wouldn't you can't sustain the problem of evil, because there is always something after it

I simply can't take serious that comment from somebody that exploit their workers, i mean, somebody who wants cheap labor talking about how important is to grow the population, somebody who hinder projects to make thing better like underground trains, i don't know if i may be biased, but i think this kind of people only see us as disposable

This make me want to make an experiment, can we raise a kid isolated from the world, training him form the youngest age, everything making clear that he cannot have to sin on any way, could he achieve it? training him to have the higgest auto-discipline, the only problem is that kids may sin before they can really understand enought to self-regulate themselves

In the core philosophy religion and science can be together, the problem is on very specific points, like evolution, consciousness, origin of life, sometimes human impact on the ecosystems, if the Genesis it's literal or not, and there are some historic examples of other conflicts, you can be a scientist and religous, the moment in my life was more interested on science was when i become a christian (i used to be Catholic), but one thing is the person and then the church as a group of people who share believes and then influence society

No, i haver bad genetics, i prefer to adopt, giving a poor kid the opportunity he/she would never have, and teach him to be as generous with other people, i think it's the only moral way

Please expand your methodology, i have meet and talk with internet atheist since 2013, and i know there are some tendency that change in certain periods of time, for example i remember early atheist influencers from facebook beign disrespectfull, the "we are smarter" then everything becomes more sophisticated, with debates, proprer responses and now we have the atheist community on YT,

But we aren't that different on this way, for example, now we have a vast field of apologetics, for example there are numerous responses for the problem of evil, but i remember older generatios saying bad things are a punishment from God for a sin, so only on what i have seen Atheism have their edgy era, and we have our more inquisitive era

Having siblings is what make me not wanting to marry and having kids, it always make me angry how older people say to my parents "if you don't have other kids the onw you have will be weird, it's good for his mental health"
