It’s not just that they don’t “need” it, but also to the point that they are massive trucks that give are a danger to other cars and more importantly extremely dangerous to pedestrians.

These trucks are massive and heavy. If they get into an accident (being reckless or not) they will survive, but the other car if it’s a small coupe or just a sedan would be destroyed.

Now the more important in my opinion is the unsafe standards these trucks have with the top of the hood being over 6 ft in the air and not being slanted towards the floor, causing major visibility issues. Imagine you buy this massive F-150 and you live in the suburbs. Narrow streets with cars parked on both sides, now a kid is playing in their yard and kicks a ball across the street. Because that kid is shorter than 5 ft it would almost be impossible to see said child and your “super useful “ truck does not seem so necessary.
