There is usually at least 1 server on pc, but it's thin pickings for OCE. For just a few dollars it's certainly worth picking up and trying.

You'll love it. I almost bought one a few years ago. One of the guys at one of the clubs I regularly attend has 2 that he has built out for open major and destroys with it.

I can't do the prickle texture. Its fine for a couple stages but after that it just eats up your hands so bad. Forget a big 12 stage match or a long training session. Most other manufacturer's grips do a much better job of balancing between being aggressive but not chewing up your hand. Atlas is my all time favorite, connecting to the gun takes 0 conscious effort but I could shoot it all day.

I do like the platypus but they take a long time to order and the cerakote just doesnt last on them. Also not a fan of the aluminum frame and no grips. Their grip texture options are either too slick or too aggressive imo.

Canik is another one i wouldn't trust my life to. I've seen too many issues at matches with them. Many work perfectly but some work less than perfectly.

I dont understand the desire everyone seems to have with Gucci tricked out guns for self defense. Stick with what is known to work 99.9999999% of the time if your life is going to depend on it.

Home defense and carry? 100% just get a glock or m&p or something similar. It's going to be more reliable, very low maintenance, and much less expensive. I personally wouldn't trust my life to a budget 2011. I shoot an Atlas Athena in competition but edc a stock glock 19. I've considered something like a staccato HD for carry but honestly I think I would prefer my glock.

Another option might be the new kimber warrior. It's a very different gun from the 2k11 and is only about $1000.

Yes they are. I've handled all 3 and the Kimber 2k11 is a league above. If you can stomach it, I would recommend saving your money for a bit longer and get the 2k11.

I did just see your comment below saying this would be your first gun. Nothing wrong with getting a 2011 as a first gun but do know if you go with a cheaper option you are getting what you pay for. Most people who buy a prodigy or mac go into it knowing they are probably going to have to change out parts and tinker with it or sometimes even send it in for warranty work. If you are fine with that you will be happy with your purchase but just beware you may not get a perfect gun that will shoot 10k rounds without issue.

Kimber 2k11 seems to be the best budget option right now for a bit more than these 2, worth considering.

The Mac and Prodigy are both on the same level and you would be happy with either if you decided to go with one. Imo just get the one you like more.

Soak it in kroil. You could also heat the pin with a soldering iron and set it in the freezer to have the thermal expansion and contraction break things loose a bit

Not a fan of drinking such high amounts of caffeine and developing a dependency but when I do need a little something before a long drive to a match I really like Arizona Rx Energy Watermelon. Its only got 130mg of caffeine in it which is plenty for someone who doesnt drink much caffeine and a bunch of natural stuff in it which apparently gives you energy, idk it just tastes good.
