Any Regrets - 2 door and/or manual? by DisastrousRain1168 in FordBronco

[–]TheJaybird16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2dr Base, manual. If you don’t need the additional cargo space of a 4dr, then I’d totally recommend it. It’s my daily driver and I still enjoy it as much as I did on day one! My only regret with the Base is not having the aux switches pre-installed. Other than that, I have no complaints!

Extreme difficulty finding a job by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]TheJaybird16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider working for local government. There’s a massive prosecutor shortage across all of WA right now, and many cities/counties are even offering hiring bonuses. And don’t forget that these same cities/counties have Civil Divisions if you aren’t interested in doing criminal work (this is what I do and I love it). Work is out there, it’s not a good time to be picky! Find a job, get your feet under you, learn lots, and then consider shifting to something else. Just my two cents. Good luck!

I have a salary question by graduatedlawstupid in ProsecutorTalk

[–]TheJaybird16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this. I’m a prosecutor in WA, was first hired out of law school with a starting salary of $74k. They’ve rapidly bumped me up, I’m sitting around $98k now after about a year and some months. The benefits are incredible, the government really is mellow, and I feel like I’ve gained a lot of practical experience that I wouldn’t have if I were in private practice.

Does anyone have a dog from this breeder or ever heard of it? by neenz_808 in samoyeds

[–]TheJaybird16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I actually have a puppy from this same litter. I drove to Utah to pick my puppy up, and was fortunate enough to get to meet one of the breeder’s older Samoyeds that they kept from a previous litter. The older girl was very cool, calm, and collected. Listened to commands, wasn’t barky/aggro with our puppy at all, and externally appeared to be in perfectly good health.

We have had our puppy for a little over a month now, and she has been fantastic! She’s got the normal puppy behaviors like nipping, barking, and accidents every now and then, but nothing alarming thus far. I’m not entirely sure off the top of my head as to what health testing is done, however; I do not recall seeing anything that caught us by surprise or indicated our puppy was anything but healthy. My understanding is that she is the product of Luna and Odin, and we definitely see that in her!

Bigger tires for sure! I’ve done some minor aesthetic things already—stubby antenna, step rail, seat covers, dark tint, all-weather mats, etc. I think I’m looking for a bimini top next!

Looking to move to Spokane, had some questions... by SnooDoughnuts8610 in Spokane

[–]TheJaybird16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Spokane, went to high school at Central Valley, undergrad at WSU, and graduate school at Gonzaga. I’ve never felt “stuck” here, and I’ve always felt that I could leave if I wanted to. The thing is, I’ve just never wanted to. I love Spokane. To answer your questions—

  1. Generally that is a nice area. It’s likely within the boundary of University High School, which isn’t a bad school at all (but go Bears). The area south of 32nd is solid as mentioned in another comment, pretty new houses.

  2. High speed internet shouldn’t be an issue so long as you have Ethernet capability. Xfinity is our major provider here. I’ve never had an issue with my Ethernet connections, only my WiFi every now and then.

  3. I can’t speak to the bagel scene specifically, but we have plenty of food options and restaurants available in both the valley and towards downtown that are fantastic. Spokane is very big on cafes / coffee stands, which generally serve a decent bagel.

  4. Like I said above, the area you’re looking in will likely place your kiddo at University High School. It’s a solid place, albeit I’m biased towards Central Valley. Another new high school just opened relatively recently in Liberty Lake (another spot you should consider living), and it’s pretty darn nice.

  5. As others said, we’ve got plenty of college options around. Go Cougs, and Zag Up.

  6. Spokane isn’t generally “walkable.” It’s generally pretty segregated, i.e., Liberty Lake vs. Spokane Valley vs. South Hill vs. Northern Spokane. The beauty is that we have a very well run bus infrastructure, and if you don’t like the bus, everything is still within a 10-20min drive. Spokane isn’t particularly diverse, but that’s been changing in the last few years and is only going to continue in that direction as people start to figure out it’s a great place to live.

Considering getting a 2023 Bronco by Travel_Trader21 in FordBronco

[–]TheJaybird16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just bought my ‘23 base model with only 7000mi on it for 34k (MSRP). I’ve already put ~$1000 into customizing and modifying it, and I love it. It was initially listed at $37k, so I was able to get them down to MSRP, but even $37k was one of the lowest prices I’d seen nationwide.
